The Amethyst just may be the gem of glass toys, or at least a wonderful first in the collection of glass treasures. This is a small but mighty glass toy. The Amethyst is like getting two toys in one. One end is a g-spot curved dildo, the other end is bulbed. Both ends of the Amethyst provide pleasure either in solo play or with a partner.

This is a great toy for beginners, but don't underestimate the Amethyst. Experienced glass or dildo users will find this a precious gem as well. Queen size users may not have as great of an experience as the Amethysts lack the girth.

The Amethyst is made of smooth, borosilicate glass, which is a 10 on the Eden material safety scale. This product is made of food-grade material and is hypo-allergenic, latex free, Non-porous and phthalates free. The texture is extremely smooth.

As a glass toy, the Amethyst is made of a hard material and there is no give to it. If used vigorously, bruising may occur. The two different ends of the Amethyst provide a perfect handle for penetration and variety to your play.

The Amethyst is a beautiful toy to look at and touch. Although I only have the purple one, I envision that all four colors are gorgeous. The purple is a very light color and at night and under florescent lighting, appears to be clear or transparent gray.








The Amethyst is 7 1/4 inches long and is insertable up to 3 - 4 inches. The curved end is slightly smaller and is insertable 3", while the bulbed end is insertable up to 4 inches. It has a circumference of 4 inches, and a diameter of 1 1/4 inches. The Amethyst weighs about 9.7 oz and is a finely crafted glass toy.

The Amethyst is a great g-spot stimulator. The curve side is angled in a way to hit your g-spot. Be careful as with any glass toy, not to thrust too hard as the Amethyst is not flexible and bruising can occur. Being a glass toy, you are able to heat and cool the amethsyt and it will keep the temperature very well. Playing with various temperatures is another layer to the joys of having an amethyst. I found the best way to heat it is to place it in a bowl of warm water or place in under the warm running shower. To cool down the Amethyst it’s best place them in a bowl of cold water or in the fridge for about 15 minutes. Be careful to test before using as the Amethyst does quickly adjust the the temperature.

The Amethyst is not battery powered and therefore sound should not be an issue, but I did find that everytime we used the bulbed side, the suction did create a gushing sound. Its definitely an obvious sound therefore if you are in a room with a roommate, be prepared for them to know what's going on.

The Amethyst is made of borosilicate glass. It is so easy to clean and care for. You can use water and anti-bacterial soap, sex toy cleaner, place in the dishwasher or even clean with boiling water. It is waterproof, although may be slippery in the shower. Glass dildos are non porous, which makes it extremely hygienic. If sharing a toy is of interest to you, the glass surface of the Amethyst makes is shareable. Condoms should be used when sharing.

The Amethyst is made of glass, although it is extremely sturdy, you want to take care not to drop it or nick the surface of it, as with any glass or steel toy.

The Amethyst comes wrapped in bubble wrap and has a narrow red velvety pouch for storage. The bubble wrap is useful to keep the toy protected as the pouch is not padded. The Amethyst does not come with any instructions or anything additional than stated above. The Amethyst does make a nice gift.

Although I was initially disappointed about the size of the Amethyst, that disappointment faded quickly. Inserting the amethyst was very easy and painless due to it’s small size and smooth material. Even on inital use, no lube was needed when paired with enough excitement to self-lubicate. This was my first glass dildo, and I am a firm believer in glass now. As much as I enjoy the versatility and pleasure that I get from the Amethyst, its surprising that it has become my husband's favorite item as well. He loves using it on me and mixing things up between the curved end and the bulbed end. Although we haven't tried it anally yet, it is definitely something we have talked about and are looking forward to. The warmed up or made cold, the Amethyst is pleasureable through the body and maintains the temperature quite well. I am starting to think, once you go glass, you never go back!
