Amethyst Took My Glass Virginity

The Amethyst is a double-ended glass dildo that comes in a variety of colors. Its curved shaft does wonders for locating the G-spot and giving it a nice, firm massage. The Amethyst isn’t super girthy and is a great introductory toy for those interested in glass, or G-spotting. Plus, you have 2 different ends to play with!

Use

Amethyst curve

The Amethyst is a lovely double-ended glass G-spot dildo which is almost the same in design as the Bent Graduate by Don Wands and the G-Spot Pink by PHS. But unlike the other two, the Amethyst comes in a wider selection of colors.

The Amethyst has a dramatic curved end that is designed to target the G-spot and the rigidness of the glass can provide great stimulation. The other end can sometimes get mistaken for a handle, but is actually the other end of the dildo. If you’re a fan of texture you’ll love the bulbs and how they feel while being thrust.

Amethyst bulbs

This toy could be used for P-spot stimulation as long as you’re careful. I would only recommend using the bent end, that way the bulbed end should prevent this toy from being inserted too far.

This dildo isn’t intimidating in size and would be great for beginners, as well as those who are looking for a smaller glass toy. The different ends and the curve of this toy make it very versatile.

Material / Texture

The Amethyst is made of borosilicate glass, which some people will know as Pyrex. Glass is rated a 10 on the EdenFantasys material safety scale. It’s chemical-free and non-porous which means it won’t harbor any harmful bacteria.
Glass is weighty and feels nice and solid in your hand, but it’s not as heavy as steel. If you are new to glass toys, start slow, because glass is totally rigid and it is possible to bruise yourself if you get too carried away.
At first glass will feel slightly cool to the touch until it warms to your body temperature. Fans of temperature play like glass because it can be chilled in ice water or warmed with warm tap water, and it will retain the temperature better than other materials.

Glass glides right along the skin without any drag and many people say they don’t need to use lubricants with glass toys. If you want to use a lube with this toy you can feel free to any kind of lube you please.

I got my Amethyst in the original purple and it’s a lovely color in person that appears to change a lot depending on the lighting of the room. It can sometimes look almost clear and other times it looks like a light to medium purple.
Each glass toy is unique because they are handmade but they’re all still pretty close to the same.

Amethyst measurements

The curved end of the Amethyst measures 4” long with the shaft circumference of 2.75” and the head measuring 3.5” around. The bulbed end measures 3” long with the swell of the bulbs reaching a circumference of 3.75”.

As you can see, the Amethyst’s head is smaller than a number of other toys. This allows the Amethyst to find and precisely stimulate the G-spot.

Performance

Both ends of this glass dildo are a pleasure to use. The curved end is great for direct G-spot or P-spot stimulation, and the bulbed end is ideal for overall vaginal stimulation. This toy can be thrust for a more intense sensation, or rocked or twisted for a gentler experience. It really comes down to your anatomy and finding what works the best for you.

Since glass is smooth it should glide easily, and the toy can be chilled or warmed in water to provide some extra sensory fun.
The glass is a little weighty, but it shouldn’t be tiresome on the wrists. As I stated before, care should be taken not to thrust too hard to too deep because this can cause internal bruising.

Care and Maintenance

The Amethyst is very easy to clean, because it’s glass and fairly smooth. I prefer to take it to the sink and spray it with toy cleaner and rinse it off. You can use soap and water, dish detergent, toy wipes or even throw it in the dishwasher or use boiling to sanitize it.

Be sure to store your toys in a safe place where they won’t be knocked around or have the potential to fall. Glass is very hard and resilient, but they can be chipped if they get hit. Be careful when cleaning your glass toys because they get slippery when wet and are easy to drop. Always check your glass toys for cracks or chips before you use them because you don’t want broken glass to cut any of your sensitive areas.

Packaging

Amethyst and pouch

The packaging is minimal; the toy itself was wrapped in a small bit of bubble wrap and placed inside a small red velvet drawstring pouch. The pouch is unpadded and measure 8.75” x 3”.The pouch is nice to have and I don’t mind not having a box that I’ll just end up tossing.

Personal comments

The Amethyst is my very first glass toy and G-spot dildo. I was super excited to try it out and I was in no way let down! I like the smooth, coolness of the glass and the fact that I don’t always have to use lubricants like I do with other sorts of material. It’s not just pretty to look at, but it’s very functional as well. Both ends feel nice, but I enjoy the curved end the most. I like how easily it targets my G-spot and the firm pressure I can apply with it.

The size is a little smaller, so it doesn’t provide me with as much of a full feeling, but it still does the job quite well. If you’re looking for an introduction to glass toys, I recommend the Amethyst because the size isn’t overwhelming and there aren’t nubs or rough texture. Plus, you get two different ends to experiment with.
