An Astro-nomically Great Set!
Sporting a fantastic shade of green, the thick and ridged Astro dildo pairs up with and a shiny silver push-button bullet vibe. I appreciate the design and attention to detail in this kit, and I am ecstatic about the dildo!Published:
Pros:
Gorgeous color and design, harness compatible, bullet included, silicone.
Cons:
Bullet vibrations don’t carry well along the shaft.
Use
The Astro Vibe Kit by Vixen Creations combines a beautiful silicone dildo with a classic push-button plastic bullet. The lush, spring green dildo shimmers with gorgeous iridescent swirls of pale blue. I absolutely love the color design of this dildo. Its 6” insertable shaft certainly did the job for me, as well as its gentle but noticeable ridges.
The Astro dildo can be used vaginally, anally, and orally (don’t you just want to lick it?), and is harness compatible. It has a big, thick base that’s easy to hold onto, and a hole in the bottom for the bullet vibe. The shiny silver bullet comes with three watch batteries and has one vibration level. It has a string looped around part of the cap that aids in retrieval from the dildo. For an easier removal, put a dab of water-based lube in the dildo hole and on the bullet. It’ll still stay in during play, but should slide out with a firm, steady pull on the string. While the dildo and bullet combo is fun, I found that both pieces work better separately.

Material / Texture
Crafted in supple silicone, the Astro delivers a smooth entrance and a mildly bumpy ride. The three lovely ridges are quite pleasing during thrusting, while the majority of the toy provides a wonderful full sensation with its respectable girth. Water-based lube is wonderful match with this dildo.
The included bullet has a very subtle bumpy texture, likely due to the shiny silver paint job. While not soft, the string attached to the bullet feels strong and doesn’t stretch. The bead on the end of the string is hard plastic.

Design / Shape / Size
I love the design of the Astro because the gentle curve, undulating surface, and varying thickness combine to create an incredible, full feeling while remaining flexible. A personal plus is that there isn’t a “head” to the Astro. It doesn’t pop in and out of me; it slides. It opens me up a little more on the ridges, and that subtle, extra widening just sends me through the roof.
The Astro commands respect with its size. Each ridge is about 5.8” around, which would translate to around 1.75” in diameter, except the Astro isn’t perfectly circular. Going down from the tip to the base, the shaft is oblong until the third ridge, where the shaft flares a little on the sides and becomes much more circular. Near the base, the diameter approaches 2”. In this design, the middle of the dildo is slightly narrower than both the base and the mildly flared top segment. I love how I can clench around the middle and feel resistance to both inserting and removing motions.

Performance
The Astro Vibe Kit worked best as a standalone dildo for me. Thrusting felt amazing, and as stated before, the ridges rocked my world. The Astro makes me feel superbly full, and since the end is flat and smooth, I didn’t have the cervix-poking problems I’ve experienced with pointier toys. This dildo didn’t provide direct g-spot simulation, but I was really too busy enjoying the luxurious size and texture to care. How much do I love this dildo? I take it out of its case to hug it, just to show my appreciation. Seriously.
I don’t have much experience with bullets, but this one felt pretty strong and was fairly quiet (2 out of 5 bees at most) when used alone. Remember the string that’s attached to it? It’s pretty convenient to loop that string over your wrist so if your grip slips, your bullet can’t get away.
Combined, the Astro and bullet feel nice, but the vibrations are just barely felt at the tip of the dildo. I experienced a nice buzzy feeling at the base of the dildo, but nothing earth-shattering. When the vibe is inside the Astro, it’s very quiet (1 out of 5 bees, easily), so if you want to be discreet and don’t need much power, this kit could be a good fit.

Care and Maintenance
As stated on the packaging, the Astro “can be washed with soap and water or sterilized in boiling water for three minutes.” Other standard silicone cleaning options include wiping with a 10% bleach solution, washing on the top rack of a soap-free dishwasher, and using toy cleaners. The shiny plastic bullet (including the string and attached bead) can be washed with soap and water, or wiped with toy cleaner or isopropyl alcohol. The string appears to be tightly woven fibers, so take precaution when using the vibe, as lube or bodily fluids could easily stick to the string.
Packaging
The Astro comes packaged in a clear, hard plastic case with red slide-off cap ends. The case isn’t too bulky, and I like the high contrast between the red ends and the green dildo. Vixen Creations recommends that you store the Astro in its case to help the dildo retain its shape. The guidelines also state that silicone lubricants should not be used with the Astro. While no usage instructions are provided, I was pleased by the professional tone of the packaging. You won’t find “For Novelty Use Only” anywhere on the case.
Personal comments

I only used the Astro vaginally, as I am not able to accommodate this toy anally.
The Astro wasn’t nearly as difficult to insert as I thought it’d be. Looking at the shaft initially, I was scared, but the tip is fairly tapered. With a little warm-up, some lube, and the help of a supportive partner, it slipped in without discomfort.
My bullet didn’t work at first, and I determined that while the batteries were fresh, the spring in the cap wasn’t making contact with them. After a little tug on the spring, the bullet worked just fine.
I found that the bullet was much easier to remove if it didn’t sit all the way into the end of the dildo hole. Leaving a little space behind the bullet doesn’t make much difference in performance since the vibrations are felt only mildly along the shaft.
