Icicles No. 22 - sex toy by Pipedream - review by Eva Schwaltz

The Icicles No. 22 is part of Pipedream’s collection of glass toys with very nice, whimsical designs. This isn’t my first glass piece, but it is my first Icicles piece, and I hope it won’t be my last.

You can use this vaginally or anally, making this a very versatile glass toy. It has a circular flared base to keep it anchored outside the body. Someone looking to use this anally should have some experience with glass because this has a lot of length and girth to work with.

Glass holds temperatures very well, so you can chill it in a bowl of ice water or warm it up under running water for some even more exciting fun. Just remember if it’s too hot to touch, then you don’t want it around your more sensitive tissues. For this reason, I don’t recommend microwaving it.

It is entirely made of borosilicate glass which will not shatter unless it is subjected to extreme temperatures. It’s not hollow so if you drop it on a very hard surface, it may break, but only in larger sized chunks.

If you like soft, flexible toys, then glass is definitely not for you. Exercise caution when thrusting so you don’t bruise the cervix or slam in to any bones.

This is a great piece for those who don’t like a lot of texture. The head is bulged, and there is another bulge closer to the base, but the entire shaft is completely smooth. The head has a teardrop shape for easy insertion.

This glass wonder is very pretty. The light reflects off of it, giving it a gorgeous array of red and blue swirls. You can’t feel them, but they are very dazzling. Although most people will probably figure out what this is for, it is pretty enough to display on a shelf.

It has a moderate size, so I don’t recommend it for a beginner to glass. It is 8 3/4” in length with an insertable length of 8 1/2”, but if you don’t want to go passed the second bulge, then is 6 inches insertable. The circumference is 4 ½” for each of the bulges, and 3 ¾" for the rest of the shaft. It gives a nice “Pop” sensation as soon as it is inserted.

I wasn’t exactly thrilled with this piece, but I wasn’t disappointed either. It’s a moderate size, but no curve means it’s difficult to hit my G-spot. I have to thrust quite vigorously, more than I would with a curved toy in order to get a good amount of stimulation. This piece is pretty heavy so that gets tiresome after a while.

I am unable to insert more than 6 inches vaginally, so I don’t get to enjoy the second bulge. I am too inexperienced to use this anally, but I wish I could get more enjoyment out of this dildo. This piece certainly didn’t wow me so I’m only giving it 3 stars.

I’m glad Eden put it on sale because I’d have a hard time justifying the price. For $65 I want more than just swirled pretty colors. I wish they included a storage bag because the box is way too large for storage.

Glass is very easy to clean because you can clean it in any way you please. If washing it with soap and water, it would be wise to place a wash cloth at the bottom of the sink because glass becomes very slippery when wet. You can also boil it for a few minutes, wipe it down with a bleach solution, or run it through the dishwasher.

All lubricants are compatible with glass, and a tiny drop goes a long way since glass is extremely slick. It comes with a nice box to use as storage, but if you don’t have a lot of room, it will be wise to get a pouch instead.

The packaging for the Icicles No. 22 is really nice. You can tell the company geared the packaging for each piece. The box has “ICICLES” all over it, along with the shape of it on the front and sides. Then there is a flap that opens up to reveal a window that shows the toy nestled in a foam tray.
