The Amethyst by SSA Glass is a piece that is sure to please most individuals. It can be used vaginally and anally with caution. Since it has a curved handle and a very small flared end, anal play is possible. Always use caution when using anything anally; make sure you have a good grip on the handle. Although the balled end is meant great for stimulation, you can also insert the smooth end.

Glass is such a great material to play with. It’s waterproof, can be sterilized, and just beautiful. I like to collect them even if they don’t work out for me! Glass is also a great conductor of temperature. This means that you can warm it up or cool it down for playtime and it will hold the temperature for a while. Either put it in warm or cold water for a few minutes. Always test the glass on the underside of your wrist before you insert it. Glass is a very hard material so be careful when thrusting! You don’t want to bruise your cervix.

Glass has no smell and doesn’t attract any hair or lint. There are no seams anywhere on a Pyrex glass piece. Although glass has little drag, it’s always a good idea to put some lube on it before insertion.

The Amethyst is very pointy at both ends. One side has three separated bulbs that give a popping sensation when inserted. At the end of the three bulbs, there is a slightly flared base. As I’ve mentioned before, you can insert the Amethyst vaginally and anally with care. I’d recommend this to you if you love a hard and pointy feeling in a dildo. For me, I found the pointy top to be too uncomfortable. The three bulbs at the top of the glass piece definitely provide a popping sensation when you remove it. The curved handle and its slight flared base make this a little safer than a straight dildo. It’s important to use lube. I made sure that my hand was dry when holding the handle so I had a good grip on it. I’ve only used a few anal toys so far and the Amethyst fit in just fine. As I mentioned, personally it is too pointy anally and vaginally. I have found that I prefer a rounded tip for insertion. It’s important to note that cleaning is essential if you are going to switch using this dildo from your butt to your vagina.

Pyrex Glass is really easy to clean. You can wash it in warm soap and water or just wipe it down. As I mentioned, you can sterilize glass by boiling it. You must sterilize it if you are going to give it to someone else to play with. You can use a silicone or water based lubricant.

I store my Amethyst in the red pouch it came in.

Like most Pyrex Glass pieces, the Amethyst came wrapped in bubble wrap in its red pouch. Now, I’m not really a fan of the red pouch. However, it does what it should do: protect the Amethyst from getting scratches. It’s not the strongest pouch, and the glass will fall out if you shake it. But, I’m glad it came with a pouch than none at all.

I'm rating the Amethyst four stars out of five. The Amethyst is a glass piece that I’ve had my eye on for quite some time. Even though I found it too pointy for my vagina and butt, I can see how it would be a very good dildo for most individuals.
