Beginner Blossom

Would I recommend this toy - I'd have to say no. There are a plethora of inexpensive glass toys to choose from - many of which are more versatile and fun to use.

Use

Full disclosure - I obtained the Blossom G in a toy swap from another EF forum member. I know that grosses some people out, but glass toys are the perfect example of why it's completely safe to trade toys. I know the person I traded with sanitized the toy before sending it to me - but of course I did so as well. Other than the box it came in - no one could tell that it had ever been used. Enough said - recycle the fun!

There are already 16 reviews for this product - so I'm going to keep this short. Due to it's modest size and low price, the Blossom G is intended for beginners - or just anyone who prefers smaller toys. Size wise it's also a reasonable option for anal play - in this case, I'd say intermediate anal players. Anal purists may shy away because there is no large 'stopper' to prevent it getting lost. However at 8" long, there was no danger of that happening to me.

Material / Texture

I find the Blossom G to be an attractive Pyrex glass piece of reasonable quality. Some have raised issues with air bubbles. I had to look really hard to see them, but they have no effect on the look or feel of the toy. Like most glass, the Blossom G is mostly smooth - with the notable exception of 5 red nubs along the shaft. Some find these nubs painful - others like them. I'll describe how we see the nubs in the Performance section below.
    • Bumpy
    • No odor
    • Rigid

Design / Shape / Size

The Blossom G is designed to give you two options. One end of the 8" shaft has a faux penis look - slightly pointed and tapered - at it's widest point it's 1.25" in diameter. The other end is a round ball shape of about 1-3/8". The 6" of shaft between the ends is slightly tapered from the round end at 1" to the tapered end it's about 3/4".

The afore mentioned nubs are closest to the tapered end and are about 1.8" in diameter and stick up about 1/8th from the shaft.

Both ends are slightly angled - but not enough for g-spot stimulation for my wife. Honestly the size and bend make it more suitable for anal or p-spot play. We do our anal play together - so I'm not worried about losing it inside.

Performance

I knew before getting this toy that it would too small to be of much use for my wife vaginally - and indeed it turned out that way. We use it for a warmup - and sometimes when I'm doing oral sex for her. She doesn't feel the nubs at all.

For our anal play - the Blossom G is the Goldilocks choice - not too big - not too small - just right! I prefer the tapered end and lots for silicone lube (that's why we love glass for anal play). Once the head enters - it necks down quickly like a butt plug - but better than a plug because the shaft allows for easy thrusting - except of course for the nubs.

Some days I like them - other days I don't. So after using the Blossom G for a little while - I'll ask her to switch to a different wand. Even though the other wand is slightly larger - the lack of nubs makes it more comfortable.
    • Easy to use

Care and Maintenance

Glass is great - just some hot soapy water and your good to go. Although you can use any lube with the Blossom G - we use silicone - but it still washes off nicely. You can put it in the dishwasher or even boil it - but we don't do any of that.

The red velvet pouch is good for keeping it from clanging around with other toys - but it's not padded so it isn't going to protect the toy from impact. We have several toys with padded pouches - but they take up too much space in our toy drawer - so those end up completely unprotected. We prefer the un-padded pouch.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Personal comments

Like many glass toys its quite artistically made - however since it's not the kind of thing you use for decoration, it's seems a little overkill to me. I would have preferred that they gave more time and consideration to size and texture of the nubs - maybe even adding swirls to one end - as many two-ended toys have.
Follow-up commentary
We love glass toys and the Blossom G is one of the nicer looking. However it's one of the lowest performers. It's a little small for my wife to use vaginally and the bumps are a little harsh when I use it anally.

I think this toy is best for girls who like smaller toys for vaginal play.

Thanks for sharing! Those nubs appear to be more for decoration rather than having any real stimulation effect.

    Great review!! Thank you.

The nubs are the single reason why I haven't already bought this. They look uncomfortable.

    Thanks!

Rossie - believe me in a tight spot, the nubs are more than decorative.

Annemarie - I don't think the nubs are a big deal for vaginal use - but they surely are for anal use. But you are right, there are too many other options to take the risk.

I wondered about toys with nubs - I think I'll avoid this one. Thanks.

I have this and was showing it to a friend yesterday and they mentioned something about the nubs looking like they would hurt. I've only used it for vaginal play so I told them I couldn't even tell they were there, but thanks for the comment about they are when used anally.

Thanks, Gun. Probably not for us, though. Too small for me for V play and I'm not crazy about glass for anal play. (I prefer plastic or silicone or just him.)

Thanks for reviewing it. It is a pretty toy. (Not that we'd put them on display, either. Just not that kind of house. Bondage Duckie, maybe on display. A dildo? Even a really pretty one on display? Not really for us.)

Great review! I love glass toys but am not so wild about ones with a thick looking "head" like this one
