Topsy turvy - dildo sex toy by Doc Johnson - review by Tuesday

If you're looking for a large glass G-spot toy, this is the one. Its shape may be straightforward - a bulbous head and a curved shaft - but it's a design proven to be effective.

It's easy to hold and to use. It probably would make a good P-spot toy too since it has both a bulb at the far end of the shaft as well as a small flared base.

If you enjoy temperature play, Turvy's tempered glass lends itself to that. Use a bowl of hot water or ice to adjust its temperature.

This tempered glass toy has no texture and therefore nothing to potentially irritate you, although you could slightly bruise yourself if you're too rough with it.

There were two spots on the head where there was a tiny bit of roughness. Perhaps these were areas where the glass worker touched a metal tool to the head. I could only feel them with my fingertips. I couldn't see any imperfections, even under strong light, nor could I feel them when the toy was in use.

Turvy is non-porous, phthalates free, hypo-allergenic and latex free, like all glass toys, making it one of the safest materials.

Topsy is nine inches long. The head is just shy of five inches in circumference. The shaft has a three and a half inch circumference. The shaft curves moderately to allow it to angle toward your G-spot easily.

It weighs a pound - definitely one of the heavier toys in my collection. With six or more insertable inches it will work no matter how deep inside your G-spot is.

Along the entire length of the shaft red ribbons of material curve back and forth inside. Turvy's shaft reminds me of marbles and the mesmerizing, colorful designs inside them.

Near the base, blue waves and dots add an extra design element. They also give you a way to make sure the turvy is oriented correctly and hasn't turned sideways during use.

There are a few tiny bubbles inside the shaft, but these don't bother me.

The base is flat, allowing you to place it on a hard surface without letting the business end touch anything. This might be useful in some situations. I don't allow it to stand on its base for long. The extra length makes it a bit more of a tipping hazard, so while it is made of tempered, break resistant glass, extra caution is needed with this toy.

The colorless ball near the base is the easiest place to grip the Turvy. I hold it either with the colorless ball between my thumb and index finger or between my index and middle fingers.

The only design flaw of the turvy is that from the angle you view it as you remove it, the red bands of color reflect throughout the entire head, making it look as though its covered with blood. The first time I saw this I was horrified, thinking that something had gone horribly wrong. My Turvy may have more red material in it than other Turvys. It looks like it has more red color than the product picture on this site. The 'blood' illusion may vary from toy to toy.

I wanted the biggest glass G-spot toy I could find and this is it. I thought it would be excellent and it truly is. I haven't had one disappointing or even so-so experience with it yet. It's deliciously big head feels just amazing.

It might be a little heavier than is ideal. Its length and weight make it slightly more work to manipulate, but the sensation benefits from the added width are worth it.

Topsy is glass, so its easy care. I just wash it with water and sometimes soap, then towel dry it. You can also boil it, wash it with a 10% bleach solution or clean it in the top rack of the dishwasher if you want to sterilize it.

Any lube is safe to use with it, although glass is so slippery that you may well not need lube at all.

It doesn't come with a storage bag, so you may wish to purchase one to reduce the chance of breakage. Tempered glass resists breakage, but it never hurts to be cautious.

It comes in a simple clear plastic box with a plastic insert that molds closely around the toy. It was difficult to remove from the package, so the package won't work well as a storage option.

There is minimal information about the product on the package, but little detail is needed with a self-explanatory toy like this one.
