Charmer - strap-on dildo by Tantus - review by JustYourAverageGuy

The Charmer is a O-Ring compatible (Strap on compatible) dildo. It does not vibrate, but has some very nice ridges for added stimulation. It can be used vaginally or anally as it has a flared base. For those seeking a unique texture (one that is not phallic, smooth, veiny, etc.), this toy is for you. While the toy is fairly slim, I would advise against this toy for anal beginners due to the ridges... it might be a bit much for you at the start.

The Charmer is made of Tantus' silicone which is 100% silicone with a polished-like finish. It is smooth and firm. The main feature of this toy are the ripples along the shaft which are a bit rigid, more rigid than the Echo, but large enough you can feel them while in use, despite the slim nature of this toy. The silicone is non-porous, phthalates-free, hypo-allergenic, and latex-free.

The Charmer has a very unique design. I would describe it somewhat like a saw blade. That's not to say this toy is sharp or will hurt you, but the ridges are very defined. The toy is 7" long, 6 1/2" of that is insertable. It is 1 1/4" in diameter, making it a fairly slim toy, especially for vaginal use. As stated earlier, I would suggest this toy for intermediate/advanced anal users, and NOT beginners due to the ridges. They offer a great feel, but easily could hurt if you aren't ready for them. The toy I purchased was the purple color which was a very light colored purple, which some swirling visible in the silicone.

I was surprised by how this toy felt. I used it anally and when relaxed it felt wonderful. The ridges could be felt going in and out, but the toy did not have a lot of girth, so there was no fullness or stretching type of feeling. I really could concentrate on how the toy felt going in and out on my anus. Since this toy has an upward curve to it, it also hits the P spot (anally for guys, or G-spot when used vaginally). In fact each of the ridges hits the P-spot, which was quite an amazing sensation in and of itself. A very different sensation even from toys made specifically for the P-spot.

However, there is a catch. When using this toy and closing your anus for a tighter fit, the toy had a somewhat unpleasant feeling. As soon as one of the ridges hit on the way out, the body naturally sensed this pain and let the sphincter loose. With that, I would suggest using this toy relaxed, as it felt wonderful that way.

The toy can also be used vaginally, and will hit the G-spot due to its upward curve, which my girlfriend enjoyed quite a bit. However, since this toy does not have a lot of girth it didn't offer a real feel.

The bottom line is that this toy has a very unique feel to it due to its sawtooth style ridges and G/P-spot abilities, but will not offer a fullness feel to it regardless of where you use it.

As with all silicone products, it can be disinfected/sterilized boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher or by using simple soap and warm water. Silicone is a very resilient material and will not break down and will last a very long time if properly cared for.

Use only water-based lubes with this toy, as silicone lubes will cause the toy to deteriorate.

This toy is no different from most of the Tantus line and comes in a simple plastic box. It doesn't offer much instruction for use, but allows you to see the entire product without removing it from the box, so you know exactly what you are buying.
