Silicone crystal cote - realistic dildo by Cal Exotics - review by minxx

Yay for my first dildo! Okay, so I had one long ago, but it was at a time that I didn't know ANYTHING about sex toys and materials and it was jelly. (Yup, had a reaction to the chemicals and had a VERY interesting doctor visit.) So I don't count it!

The Silicone Crystal Cote dildo is such a cute addition to anyone's toy box! It comes in three different colors - pink, orange and pale purple - and is not intimidating by any means, which makes it perfect for the beginners out there. Yet, it still has enough texture from the "veins" to please the more advanced. Though, for those who need thicker, longer toys, this one may disappoint.

The use is pretty straightforward with this toy - you can use it vaginally, or anally (with a condom), thanks to the balls. the suction cup at the base makes playtime even more adventurous, expanding the playground to anywhere in the house with a smooth, hard surface, such as the shower wall, floors, chairs, etc. And you don't have to play alone. Bring your partner in for double penetration, if you'd like! Let your imagination run wild!

The material of this toy is TPR Silicone, which is a silicone based rubber compound, ranking at a 6 out of 10 on the material safety chart. It is hypo-allergenic and latex/phthalate free, but is still considered porous, so sharing or anal use without a condom is not recommended. It feels smooth, but definitely has a draggy feeling in the hand, and is hard with enough give that it actually feels like a real penis. (At least it does to me.) Those of you who find strong odors to be a turn off, beware - this one had the most bizarre smell I have ever come across with a toy. Right out of the packaging, the smell of it whacked me in the face that felt like walking into a wall, with a pungency that reminded me of vinegar. Unfortunately, the smell does not wash off very well, no matter how many times I've washed it. It also feels a tiny bit sticky, but that can be washed off before use. For the sake of the review I had to do it, but I would strongly recommend not putting this in your mouth. The taste is dreadful.

The texture felt pretty realistic, but the veins (or ribbing) and prominent head added a bit more sensation than a real penis. It isn't anything that someone would find uncomfortable, but it was definitely easy to feel. I think if it had more girth to it, I wouldn't have felt the texture as much.

The design keeps to the classic, realistic look of a penis with a few changes, such as the prominent head and ribbing. The "cone" of color on the inside mystifies me. (How did they do it?)

Now for some measurements. The entire length of the toy, from base to tip, is roughly 6 1/2 inches. Not including the suction cup, it measures a little over 5 inches from the bottom of the balls to the tip, 4 1/2 of which are insertable. The girth measures 4 inches in circumference, which is actually more than I thought it was.







The suction cup, if it matters, measures a little over 2 inches across.



As you can see, and as I had mentioned earlier, it is definitely a good choice for a beginner, since the size is not very intimidating. It's also not very bulky, so I imagine travel would not be an issue with this guy.

I very much adore this guy. The suction cup has been holding up very well, no pun intended, and it certainly gets the job done for me in the most comfortable way possible. There are some times that I find the smell of it a bit overwhelming, which can be quite a turn off, but I noticed that the smell isn't as strong when used in the shower.

Now, for the most important part - how to take care of your new investment!

TPR Silicone is considered porous, so it is very important to thoroughly wash it with warm water and antibacterial soap and/or a toy cleaner before and after each and every use, and let it dry completely before storing. When storing, it is important to keep in mind that this guy is a dust bunny waiting to happen, and will easily cling to any bit of dirt, dust and lint. I personally keep it in its original clam shell packaging in my toy box.

If lubricants are a fancy of yours, be sure to only use water based lubricants. Anything else may damage the material.

The packaging is very simple, yet not discreet in any form of the word. The images on the packaging aren't as bad as some other toys.

This toy really meant more to me than just another sex toy. Being 4 hours away from my fiance for 8 1/2 months of every year in college can get a bit lonely, in more ways than one. We tried doing the "clone" kit thing, but it failed terribly and fell apart before I could even use it. (Those kits are way too expensive to be trying again, especially with a not-so-desirable material.) I came across this toy and knew it would be perfect for when I'm away, and my fiance can't come visit. Sure, it's about an inch smaller than my fiance in length and an inch and a half in girth, but it was as close as I could get, and I love every bit of it. Of course, nothing can replace my fiance, but if needed, it's a temporary fix!
