Crystal lover - dildo sex toy by Orion - review by Gunsmoke

Although we are fans of glass, the Crystal Lover is a viable alternative. The acrylic is about 90% as smooth as glass and it doesn't get as cold (it is winter after all). In spite of not being as cold - it did warm up nicely while inside - all great features for a $26 toy. If you're use to glass like we are, you'll also notice that this toy is very light weight which makes it very easy to maneuver - a nice advantage for someone with a disability or limited range of motion.

We bought this toy for exclusively anal use - you could certainly use it vaginally - but the maximum diameter of 1-3/8" isn't going to do anything for my wife.

The Crystal lover is versatile - you can use the papered end or the end that features two bubbles - but since we're using silicone lube it's hard to switch during the same session.

Using the tapered end, the crest comes at about 3.5" into the overall 8.5" length. If you're an anal beginner like me - getting over the crest results in a nice feeling as your sphincter relaxes with the down-taper. Another nice feature is the gradual taper makes it easy for you or your partner to stroke the shaft - gradually introducing you to the increasing diameter - very nice. Once you've passed the crest, the differential is enough for me to hold it firmly inside like a plug.

If you're more interested in a rippling sensation like anal beads provide - the bubble end works nicely. Beware though - the first bubble is 1" and there is no taper - you've got to take it immediately - or go back to the tapered end. If the first bubble goes in - there is a sight taper leading to the second bubble at the 2.5" mark. If you're partner's hand is free of lube, they should be able to stroke the shaft - allowing the second bubble to leave and enter the anus repeatedly - for me an overall pleasant sensation.

Both of us are new to anal play so starting with the tapered end was a smart move. I went first and found it relatively easy to get past the 1-3/8" crest. However when she climbed on top for her favorite cowgirl ride - I found that the unforgiving nature of a hard toy came into play. The 5" length of acrylic was quite uncomfortable in that position. Changing to the dogie position was comfortable and she was able to stroke the shaft past the crest repeatedly giving me a nice stretch and relax sensation that soon resulted in an orgasm for me.

When it was her turn (obviously a clean toy) she enjoyed the smooth taper but didn't feel comfortable taking the crest. It's a mental barrier - but she's working on it - I laud her for trying.

My second time around, I decided to try the bubbles. After a bit of finger warm up, the first bubble popped in nicely. Maintaining a firm grip on the tapered end - she was able to pop in the second bubble and stroke the shaft. The feeling was similar to but not exactly the same as the tapered end.

All and all 3 successful outings with the Crystal lover. We'll be exploring her pleasures more as time goes on. We're definitely pleased with this purchase and recommend it highly - especially those that are intrigued by the smooth aspect of glass - but worried about the glass breaking - I don't think there is any way to break the acrylic during normal use - or by dropping it either.

I was torn about how to update my review of the Crystal Lover - there isn't anything wrong with the toy - it's just not one we use. I suppose this is the risk of having a lot to choose from. We definitely prefer glass over acrylic.

For those of you looking for a relatively inexpensive toy - or have concerns about glass, the Crystal Lover would be a good choice.
