Cute but not safe

It appears as though the pros list is longer than the cons. This is true, but to me the porous material is enough of a con to keep me from ever using this again, or ever recommending it to anyone. If you are okay with using a condom with your toy constantly, then the cute design, modest size, and strong suction cup could make this a winner for you.

Use

This toy is best used with a condom, if you still want to use it, because it is porous. If you really need to use this I would absolutely only recommend using it with a condom. For the rest of this review, lets assume there is a condom on it for all play.

The suction cup make it anal safe, and you can also use it vaginally. You can use it in the water, solo, or with a partner. Just be sure to change condoms if you are sharing.

Material / Texture

The Crystal Cote is made of TPR which is a silicone based rubber. It's a 6 on the Eden safety scale and is porous. It is however latex free, hypo-allergenic, and phthalates free. Out of the package it smelled, and I wouldn't dare taste it. It is flexible and has a bit of give to it, without it being floppy.

There is very slight ridges on it that aren't noticeable when in use, so it would be okay for a beginner.

My problem with this lies in the material. Being porous means it can't be fully sterilized and will harbor bacteria. that's never good for anything you plan to use internally. Goodness knows what's really in it, and how much of the toy is actually silicone.

Design / Shape / Size

This was the first dildo I ever purchased and it was the last one that I will ever buy that isn't completely body safe. I bought it because I thought it was really cute and intimidating. Size-wise, it's great for a beginner. It has a pink core with a clear outer layer which looks really awesome. The suction cup is also pretty amazing and sticks well to most flat surfaces. It looks very realistic aside from the color.

Performance

The size, shape, and design of the Crystal Cote is perfect for beginners. The design and colors are un-intimidating to a beginner, and the suction cup sticks really well to almost any flat surface. The suction cup could also be used as flared base making it harness compatible.

Unfortunately though, the material keeps me from giving this a glowing recommendation.

Care and Maintenance

The only way suggested to clean the Crystal Cote is with warm water and antibacterial soap. Don't store it next to your other toys as it could possibly melt onto them. If you have other TPR, rubber, or jelly toys they could melt into one another. Overall, I would recommend storing it in a plastic bag or in it's original clam shell packaging.

It is only compatible with water-based lubricant.

Experience

I love the look of this toy and it was my first dildo. I would recommend it to all beginners if it weren't for the porous materials and yucky smell. I only used it twice before I read into the dangers of materials like TPR, rubber, PVC, and Jelly. Now I will only use body safe materials like glass, 100% silicone, stainless steel, and wood.

I appreciate you mentioning the material problems, yet still giving a fair assessment of the toy, despite the material.
