Driving Miss Ella
The Ella from Lelo is an elegantly designed and functional double ended g-spot dildo. She’s made from solid silicone, so she’s flexible yet firm making her not only comfortable to use but highly stimulating to your g-spot as well. Not only would she make an excellent choice for a first time g-spot dildo buyer, but she’s a great choice for seasoned pros as well because she’s built to please!Published: July 21, 2009
Pros:
Silicone, comfortable, storage bag included and she hits all the right spots!
Cons:
Not a single one!
The Ella by Lelo is a wonderfully designed, double ended, g-spot dildo created of pure, flexible silicone. She’s not only ridiculously comfortable to use, but she can zone in on your g-spot with the precision of a well trained lover! She may even be able to assist those who are unfamiliar with their g-spot location, in locating it comfortably, because she’ll generally flex rather than poke during exploration.
Before attempting to locate your g-spot, it’s usually a good idea to get yourself worked up a bit beforehand, so that it will become more pronounced. This is where the smooth, non-g-spot end comes into play. It’s smooth and seam free, with about a 1 1/4" diameter that makes it perfect for most users to enjoy. It works great in conjunction with a small bullet or other clit toy to get you in the mood!
Now that things have heated up a bit, it’s time to try out that lovely g-spot end! The shaft is just a bit thinner in diameter on this end, but it does progressively increase down the shaft where it joins into the 1 1/4" diameter of the opposite end. It’s about 7" in total length with roughly 5" of that being insertable from either end. Of course it’s highly unlikely that you’ll need that much length to locate your g-spot because it’s usually located only a few inches inside.
I’m lucky enough to know where mine is located but the Ella also had no problems locating it. She also provided me with amazing stimulation that was virtually effortless! Her diameter is also perfect for me to thrust her quickly, which is what I require for intense g-spot stimulation. I’ve also discovered that the Ella does allow for some temperature play too. Simply soak her in a bowl of warm or cool water for different sensations. Just make sure to test her out on your wrist before use to be on the safe side.
As with all of Lelo’s toys, the Ella arrives packaged beautifully in a reusable black box, made just for her. She also comes with a satin, drawstring bag for travel, or for those with limited space where the storage box may take up too much room. That isn’t all though because she also comes with a one year warranty from Lelo against defects and all this at such a wonderful price! She’s worth every penny!
Since Ella is designed entirely from pure silicone, and she’s waterproof too. That means there’s no reason for her to not join you in the tub! It also means that she’s phthalate free, scent free, taste free and sterilizable. For everyday, single user cleaning, simply wash her off with antibacterial soap and water, or your favorite toy cleaner. In the event that sterilization is required, you can boil her for three minutes, run her through your dishwasher on the top rack with no soap, or wipe her down with a 10 % bleach solution, followed up by a good rinse and she’s as good as new! Just make sure to only use water based lubricants with her because you don’t want to damage her.
The Ella is one of the most comfortable and efficient g-spot dildo’s I’ve ever used. She hits all the right spots for me and while she may not be as hard as glass or metal, I can thrust her quickly without the fear of being jabbed my glass or metal. She’s definitely won me over, and there will be an Ella in my collection for quite some time to come.

Experience
Ella really is a remarkable dildo! She feels very similar to my lovers fingers caressing my g-spot and she’s actually the closest thing I’ve found to that feeling and I love her because of it!
As with most g-spot toys, I found that I had to sort of curve the g-spot end of Ella into me rather than trying to push it straight in. I’m sure most of you probably already know this, but I figured it was worth mentioning for the benefit of those who may be unfamiliar with g-spot toys.
I found the Ella to be a great choice for partner play too. My lover was able to use her on me and I experienced no pain or poking whatsoever! She’s just so smooth with the right amount of give that she will allow for a few errors without the consequences. As a matter of fact, my partner usually picks this one out first when I give him the choice of what he’d like to use on me and I have no problems with that at all!
Once I was properly warmed up, and Ella was thrusting over my g-spot, I was in heaven! She truly felt marvelous and I didn’t want to stop! It is hard for me to experience a g-spot orgasm, and very few toys can do that for me without any clitoral stimulation, but Ella was able to deliver for me.
Unfortunately, she did not produce a squirting g-spot orgasm for me but then again, I’ve never been successful in squirting. I think I fight that “need to pee” feeling too much to just let go. Oh well, I am certain that she won’t have a problem producing a squirting orgasm for those who have already mastered this phenomenon and who knows, maybe I’ll even be able to get there at some point too. You can bet that Ella will be there if it happens!

ella vs. others

I want to get ella as my first she doesn't seem as menacing as the others made of glass or metal but are those materials better sensation wise?
-
It comes down to personal preference, really. You're not going to know if glass or metal feels better to you until you try.
A couple things to keep in mind, though: glass and metal have absolutely no give, so they tend to feel bigger than silicone toys of the same size. They're also rather heavy in most cases, and so you need to be a bit more careful when you use them. Being too rough can result in internal bruising. They're very slick and smooth, though, unlike silicone which typically has some drag to it.
The Ella is pretty rigid for a silicone toy, but it's very light and easy to use. It's great if you're new to dildos. :) -

How Does Lelo Ella compare to Gigi?
-
I know that Ella doesn't vibrate, but are there many other differences? I am wondering whether the Ella might be a better shape or size for g-spot stimulation
-
i'm wondering this too. i bought gigi and was disappointed but ella seems even better should I or shouldn't I?

Would the Ella work well for a beginner?
-
I'm thinking of getting my bestfriend this for Christmas but she is new to toys. Would this be a good toy to give a newbie? I have not tried it myself so I'm not sure how easy it is to master.
-
I have the similarly shaped Gigi and found nothing but frustration when trying to thrust with it.
-
i think it would be a good option for a beginner.

I need help the Ella curve is doing me in.
-
I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have read every review and some twice. I can not figure this girl out. I want to write a review but, how can I write a review on something I do not get. Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help me enjoy this beautiful toy.
-
What do you not get about it? Not every toy works for every woman. Does it hurt to use? Maybe your vagina is too small for it yet or maybe you just need some lube. Do you not feel anything? Again, nothing is for everyone. Try sqeezing the toy by doing kegels when you use it. Some women say that makes things feel better. Or maybe try tilting it up towards your g-spot. That works for me with other toys.
I haven't used it yet. Just recently purchased a white Ella. And I can't wait! We've got the same name! :D -
If you don't get it you can still write your review from that perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who had that experience with it. I have the Ella and she's nice but she's not fireworks for me and that's ok. We all have different experiences with toys and that is what makes these reviews so valuable.

Dildo vs. Vibrator
-
I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!

Just wondering and thanks! What I mean by this I think is, is it easier with one than the other, or maybe does it require a different mind set or even is one better with partner play vs. solo? I don't know, LOL, just curious.

When we started with toys it was all about clit vibes for 'effective' reliable orgasms. But as we got into g-spot and a-spot stimulation, dildos have advantages over vibes because pressure is more important than vibes.
Now we almost always have some of both going on. A dildo for internal and a clit vibe for external - although she occasionally likes two vibes.
The only truism I've found is that what she wants/needs is different almost every time. I use to think 'this worked last time - so lets do it again' - but now I think 'we did that last time - what can I do to mix things up'.
That's why we have dozens of toys - both vibes and dildos.

Ella for beginners
-
Hey! I was just wondering if Ella would be something an absolute beginner could use, someone who's never gone looking for her g-spot before. She seems awfully tempting, but I wonder if I it's too advanced a toy for me?

Ella was the first one that worked for me. Several people have had their first successes with Ella.

Ella and Gigi
-
I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?
They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one! -
Quote: I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?I just bought the Ella and have not tried it yet, but everyone seems to love it. I have had the GiGi for a couple of months and rarely use it, mainly because the control thing is located in the worst possible spot, and I invariably hit it and make the settings change! Argh! I also had no luck with it for g-spot stimulation, and the only times I get it out it is for clit work.
They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one!
Even though I wasn't crazy about GiGi, it seems to do the job for a lot of people, so it might work for you. In fact, I bought it based on all the wonderful reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one toy that will do the trick for everyone. Everyone is VERY different in their tastes and what they need. -
I agree that no toy is good for everyone. I can not get a rabbit vibe that actually works for me by stimulating my clit and vag at the same time. Perhaps its operator error.
Anyway, I love the Gigi. I solved the control issue for me anyway by wiping the lube off the control and my fingers...success. The effectiveness of the Gigi is the vibe plus the design. I don't have the Ella, which is not a vibe but I see it as similar to many of the g spot dils available.
