Elegant Ella

Ella is a double-ended dildo with a unique shape, designed specifically for g-spotting at one end and more traditional penetration and thrusting at the other end. She is a great toy for beginners especially because of her small size and smooth texture.

Use

Ella's unique double-ended design provides the user with a choice of two different types of stimulation, which is in my opinion her best feature. The flat end is constructed specifically for direct g-spot stimulation and is great for beginners who are still looking for theirs, while the tapered end is more for thrusting and traditional penetration. Because of her shape and firmness, I think she is better used for solo play than for couples and I would not recommend her for anal penetration, since she does not have a flared base. Because she is small and comes with a nice, discreet storage box, she is excellent for travel and great for campus living. In fact, Ella is suitable for use anywhere, including the bathtub.

Material / Texture

The first thing that you will notice about the Ella is that she is extremely smooth and seamless. She feels almost like satin and has a matte finish that gives her a very slight drag. She is quite firm to the touch, but does offer a tiny bit of flexibility, especially towards the middle of the toy. Ella is made completely of silicone, making her non-porous, odorless, tasteless, and best of all, waterproof!

Design / Shape / Size

Ella is by far the most elegant toy in my toy box. I have the black version, but she comes in white and rose as well. She is sleek, smooth and brilliantly designed. Her curves are perfect for finding and hitting the g-spot, and her high end silicone body feels great when rubbed against the clit and labia. She is seven inches in length, with five inches insertable from either end, and only an inch and a quarter in diameter at the widest, which makes her a great size for beginners. This also allows for a great freedom of movement within the body, which in my opinion is the key to her success as a g-spot seeker.

Performance

Ella has by far been the best toy in my toy box when I want g-spot stimulation. I have never been able to pinpoint that desired spot with such ease before. I usually struggle to find my g-spot even with toys I have used for g-spotting before. Though I did not find my g-spot the first time with Ella, I blame this on not being quite aroused enough and being too excited to use it right away. The second time around, it did not take long at all for her to really hit the almighty G. I have had some of my most powerful orgasms using just Ella alone. I have also really come to enjoy the tapered end, not so much for thrusting, but for squeezing my vaginal muscles around it. She also feels great when rubbed on the clitoris and labia when warming up for penetration. She really is a very versatile toy and I am very pleased with her, especially for the price.
    • Easy to use
    • Lots of variety in function

Care and Maintenance

Because this toy is completely silicone, it is very easy to keep clean. To disinfect, simply boil for three minutes, or, if you are not too shy, stick it in a dishwasher (top rack only) with a disinfect/sanitize setting. Use ONLY WATER-BASED lubes on this toy. Silicone based lubes may bond to the toy, which can then make it difficult to disinfect properly. Similarly, when not in use, keep separate from other toys, especially ones also made of silicone. In fact, if you have kept the box or pouch that Ella came in, it is best to store it in one or both of these.

Packaging

There are only two words to describe the packaging of this toy: elegant and discreet. Ella comes in a beautiful shiny cardboard box, color coordinated with the color of the dildo. Inside is a more sturdy cardboard box with a molded insert cradling the toy. Beneath the insert you will find three booklets, one containing instructions on care and use of the product, one explaining the 1-year warranty policy and another explaining the 10-year warranty policy. On the back of the 1-year warranty booklet, you will find the serial number that you can use to register your product on LELO's website. Also included is a lovely satin pouch for easy storage. I personally keep mine in both the pouch and the box, as I found the box too lovely not to use.
    • Discreet looking packaging
    • Very informative
    • Good for storage

Personal comments

Ella is a very impressive toy in all ways, shapes and forms. From the very moment I gazed upon the elegant packaging and unique design, I was in love with her. Her performance and low maintenance care has kept her by my bedside since the first day I got her. She is usually one of the first toys I reach for when I am looking to stimulate my g-spot.

Experience

Upon receiving Ella, I could not contain my excitement. Immediately, I opened the package, washed her with warm soap and water as I do with all new toys, and lubed her up. Because of the smaller size, it easily slid inside me. Since the majority of reviewers have had a lot of luck finding their g-spot rather quickly with Ella, I was a little disappointed when this did not happen for me the first time. I am not at all new to g-spotting and find that it usually does take me some time to get accustomed to how each individual toy works with my body. So, I did not fret, put the toy away and tried again the next day.

The second time around, I warmed myself up with some erotic literature, making sure that I was more aroused than the first time around and then began to experiment with different angles of insertion. I found that tilting and rocking Ella inside of me rather than just thrusting her in and out proved to be the key to g-spot penetration. Obviously, this might differ for each individual, but if you do not find the g-spot right away with her do not be disappointed! Everybody is different and with very little experimentation, you will find your spot.

My only complaint about Ella is that I wish she were a bit longer. I am a plus-size girl, so I appreciate a little more of a handle when I am thrusting so that I do not have to reach and bend so much. In saying that, the orgasm that she gives me is worth the extra effort and therefore, she remains one of my favorite toys.
Follow-up commentary
I am absolutely still in love with this product. The elegance and ease of use, versatility and ability to sterilize Ella has kept her at the top of my toy box and I do not see her going anywhere, anytime soon.

I wish it had more of a handle too. Or texture on the handle. Ella gets slippery. I still like my Ella though; Great review!

  • ella vs. others
    • I want to get ella as my first she doesn't seem as menacing as the others made of glass or metal but are those materials better sensation wise?
    • It comes down to personal preference, really. You're not going to know if glass or metal feels better to you until you try.

A couple things to keep in mind, though: glass and metal have absolutely no give, so they tend to feel bigger than silicone toys of the same size. They're also rather heavy in most cases, and so you need to be a bit more careful when you use them. Being too rough can result in internal bruising. They're very slick and smooth, though, unlike silicone which typically has some drag to it.

The Ella is pretty rigid for a silicone toy, but it's very light and easy to use. It's great if you're new to dildos. :)

I have not tried anything like that I hear alot of good things and alot of not so good things. its up to you to try and see what you prefer..

  • How Does Lelo Ella compare to Gigi?
    • I know that Ella doesn't vibrate, but are there many other differences? I am wondering whether the Ella might be a better shape or size for g-spot stimulation
    • i'm wondering this too. i bought gigi and was disappointed but ella seems even better should I or shouldn't I?

  • Would the Ella work well for a beginner?
    • I'm thinking of getting my bestfriend this for Christmas but she is new to toys. Would this be a good toy to give a newbie? I have not tried it myself so I'm not sure how easy it is to master.
    • I have the similarly shaped Gigi and found nothing but frustration when trying to thrust with it.
    • i think it would be a good option for a beginner.

  • I need help the Ella curve is doing me in.
    • I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have read every review and some twice. I can not figure this girl out. I want to write a review but, how can I write a review on something I do not get. Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help me enjoy this beautiful toy.
    • What do you not get about it? Not every toy works for every woman. Does it hurt to use? Maybe your vagina is too small for it yet or maybe you just need some lube. Do you not feel anything? Again, nothing is for everyone. Try sqeezing the toy by doing kegels when you use it. Some women say that makes things feel better. Or maybe try tilting it up towards your g-spot. That works for me with other toys.

I haven't used it yet. Just recently purchased a white Ella. And I can't wait! We've got the same name! :D
    • If you don't get it you can still write your review from that perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who had that experience with it. I have the Ella and she's nice but she's not fireworks for me and that's ok. We all have different experiences with toys and that is what makes these reviews so valuable.

  • Dildo vs. Vibrator
    • I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!

What I mean by this I think is, is it easier with one than the other, or maybe does it require a different mind set or even is one better with partner play vs. solo? I don't know, LOL, just curious.
    • When we started with toys it was all about clit vibes for 'effective' reliable orgasms. But as we got into g-spot and a-spot stimulation, dildos have advantages over vibes because pressure is more important than vibes.

Now we almost always have some of both going on. A dildo for internal and a clit vibe for external - although she occasionally likes two vibes.

The only truism I've found is that what she wants/needs is different almost every time. I use to think 'this worked last time - so lets do it again' - but now I think 'we did that last time - what can I do to mix things up'.

That's why we have dozens of toys - both vibes and dildos.

  • Ella for beginners
    • Hey! I was just wondering if Ella would be something an absolute beginner could use, someone who's never gone looking for her g-spot before. She seems awfully tempting, but I wonder if I it's too advanced a toy for me?

Ella is perfect for beginners. I had tried several other G-spot toys before Ella. Ella was the first one that worked for me. Several people have had their first successes with Ella.

  • Ella and Gigi
    • I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?

They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one!

I just bought the Ella and have not tried it yet, but everyone seems to love it. I have had the GiGi for a couple of months and rarely use it, mainly because the control thing is located in the worst possible spot, and I invariably hit it and make the settings change! Argh! I also had no luck with it for g-spot stimulation, and the only times I get it out it is for clit work.

Even though I wasn't crazy about GiGi, it seems to do the job for a lot of people, so it might work for you. In fact, I bought it based on all the wonderful reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one toy that will do the trick for everyone. Everyone is VERY different in their tastes and what they need.
    • I agree that no toy is good for everyone. I can not get a rabbit vibe that actually works for me by stimulating my clit and vag at the same time. Perhaps its operator error.
Anyway, I love the Gigi. I solved the control issue for me anyway by wiping the lube off the control and my fingers...success. The effectiveness of the Gigi is the vibe plus the design. I don't have the Ella, which is not a vibe but I see it as similar to many of the g spot dils available.
