Ella Didn't Do it for Me.

Overall, this toy is low-maintenance, body-safe, and easy to store. It rather depends what type of inner body-shape you have. It was so painful for me to use that I'm contemplating throwing it away, but I may give it another shot in the future. However, it's been two weeks and this has not failed to stop hurting me.

Use

The Ella Pleasure Object is one of the smaller G-Spot dildos available. Made completely of Silicone, a food grade, non-porous and body-safe material. Easy to clean, and easy to use. Low maintenance at least! The Ella is supposed to stimulate the female G-Spot, and could also be used as an anal or P-Spot toy with a little extra lubricant... However, Ella was so small that stimulating my G-Spot was near impossible... As a matter of fact, Ella is so small that it actually hurts a bit to use her. Maybe it's the way my vagina is shaped, or maybe it's just that the toy is awful.

Many have had success with this dildo, so don't get your hopes down just because of my opinion. But if you read my review and find that we are a lot alike, you may want to think twice.

Material / Texture

Like I mentioned, Ella is made of 100% Silicone. Silicone is non-porous, hypo-allergenic, food grade, body safe, and is a 10 on the safety scale (1 - 10). The Silicone has less of a matte finish, and more of a velvety smooth finish. A lot of people like this, but if it doesn't vibrate, I always prefer a more matte finish for extra stimulation. The velvety finish gave Ella too much glide for me. For some who may have trouble self-lubricating, this may be a good toy as it takes a little amount of lubricant to get Ella in and out.

Ella is quite firm as far as Silicone toys come. One of the hardest silicone dildos I have owned in a very, very long time. She can bend slightly as you insert, but not enough to literally fit the shape of your insides. This may be why she hurt me so badly to use, but who knows. I can say that I'm used to using more straight toys, so the curve was a bit new to me.

Design / Shape / Size

I think the design was interesting. If this was a vibrator it would be more affective as I wouldn't really need to thrust it at all, eliminating the painful usage of the toy. As far as a G-Spot dildo... too slippery too easy, almos making it hard to control. I found more use with the end that is supposed to be the handle! The curved end only hurt me and made me urinate (NOT squirt - I know the difference).

The size? Too small. I seem to do well with large toys that have less of a curve. It puts less shock on my muscles and gives a nice full feeling. This is similar to sticking a tampon inside of myself! Of course it really isn't as small as a tampon - It only feels that way.

Ella is suitable for travel as she contains no electronics. Nothing that would show up as your suitcase is running through the scanner. Fits easily wherever you'd like it to fit, and small enough that it doesn't take any room.

Performance

Ella didn't perform as I had hoped she would. I expected a delightful G-Spot massage, but all I got was "Ouch! Honey take it out now! Let me try it myself!"

And after trying Ella myself? "Oh shit! That hurts!". The toy just doesn't sit right with me, and I'm sad to say so.

Care and Maintenance

Ella can be cleaned practically any way you'd wish to clean her:

- Warm water and antibacterial soap

- Toy wipes

- Toy spray

- Top rack of dishwasher on regular (lower heat) cycle without dish soap. If you use dish soap you'll end up with a white tint on your toy that will never go away.

- Boil for up to 5 minutes in a pot, uncovered. Remove with tongs and let sit for about 20 minutes to cool.

- Let dildo soak in a 10% bleach/ 90% water solution. You can also make this solution in a spray bottle like I do and spray it down and give it a scrub.

Ella comes with a satin pouch that makes storage quite easy. No one would suspect a thing if you threw that in your sock drawer. She's so small that you can really put her in the corner of a drawer without worry.

Packaging

Ella comes in a large LELO box that resembles all the other LELO boxes. It will be the color of whatever toy you have chosen, and one side even has an image of Ella life size. I found this fashionable, but not too discreet. Inside there is another box that is, once again, the same as all the other LELO boxes. You lift the lid to find Ella inside in a plastic mold with a free LELO lubricant packet, a few booklets for warranty and a mini catalog, along with the satin pouch. This box is totally discreet and looks like a large jewelry box. Perfect for storage and gifting.

If you plan on gifting Ella, removing the outer box would be wise.

  • ella vs. others
    • I want to get ella as my first she doesn't seem as menacing as the others made of glass or metal but are those materials better sensation wise?
    • It comes down to personal preference, really. You're not going to know if glass or metal feels better to you until you try.

A couple things to keep in mind, though: glass and metal have absolutely no give, so they tend to feel bigger than silicone toys of the same size. They're also rather heavy in most cases, and so you need to be a bit more careful when you use them. Being too rough can result in internal bruising. They're very slick and smooth, though, unlike silicone which typically has some drag to it.

The Ella is pretty rigid for a silicone toy, but it's very light and easy to use. It's great if you're new to dildos. :)

  • How Does Lelo Ella compare to Gigi?
    • I know that Ella doesn't vibrate, but are there many other differences? I am wondering whether the Ella might be a better shape or size for g-spot stimulation
    • i'm wondering this too. i bought gigi and was disappointed but ella seems even better should I or shouldn't I?

  • Would the Ella work well for a beginner?
    • I'm thinking of getting my bestfriend this for Christmas but she is new to toys. Would this be a good toy to give a newbie? I have not tried it myself so I'm not sure how easy it is to master.
    • I have the similarly shaped Gigi and found nothing but frustration when trying to thrust with it.
    • i think it would be a good option for a beginner.

  • I need help the Ella curve is doing me in.
    • I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have read every review and some twice. I can not figure this girl out. I want to write a review but, how can I write a review on something I do not get. Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help me enjoy this beautiful toy.
    • What do you not get about it? Not every toy works for every woman. Does it hurt to use? Maybe your vagina is too small for it yet or maybe you just need some lube. Do you not feel anything? Again, nothing is for everyone. Try sqeezing the toy by doing kegels when you use it. Some women say that makes things feel better. Or maybe try tilting it up towards your g-spot. That works for me with other toys.

I haven't used it yet. Just recently purchased a white Ella. And I can't wait! We've got the same name! :D
    • If you don't get it you can still write your review from that perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who had that experience with it. I have the Ella and she's nice but she's not fireworks for me and that's ok. We all have different experiences with toys and that is what makes these reviews so valuable.

  • Dildo vs. Vibrator
    • I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!

What I mean by this I think is, is it easier with one than the other, or maybe does it require a different mind set or even is one better with partner play vs. solo? I don't know, LOL, just curious.
    • When we started with toys it was all about clit vibes for 'effective' reliable orgasms. But as we got into g-spot and a-spot stimulation, dildos have advantages over vibes because pressure is more important than vibes.

Now we almost always have some of both going on. A dildo for internal and a clit vibe for external - although she occasionally likes two vibes.

The only truism I've found is that what she wants/needs is different almost every time. I use to think 'this worked last time - so lets do it again' - but now I think 'we did that last time - what can I do to mix things up'.

That's why we have dozens of toys - both vibes and dildos.

  • Ella for beginners
    • Hey! I was just wondering if Ella would be something an absolute beginner could use, someone who's never gone looking for her g-spot before. She seems awfully tempting, but I wonder if I it's too advanced a toy for me?

Ella is perfect for beginners. I had tried several other G-spot toys before Ella. Ella was the first one that worked for me. Several people have had their first successes with Ella.

I'm glad Ella seems like such a successful toy! I hope she works for me, too <3

  • Ella and Gigi
    • I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?

They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one!

I just bought the Ella and have not tried it yet, but everyone seems to love it. I have had the GiGi for a couple of months and rarely use it, mainly because the control thing is located in the worst possible spot, and I invariably hit it and make the settings change! Argh! I also had no luck with it for g-spot stimulation, and the only times I get it out it is for clit work.

Even though I wasn't crazy about GiGi, it seems to do the job for a lot of people, so it might work for you. In fact, I bought it based on all the wonderful reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one toy that will do the trick for everyone. Everyone is VERY different in their tastes and what they need.
    • I agree that no toy is good for everyone. I can not get a rabbit vibe that actually works for me by stimulating my clit and vag at the same time. Perhaps its operator error.
Anyway, I love the Gigi. I solved the control issue for me anyway by wiping the lube off the control and my fingers...success. The effectiveness of the Gigi is the vibe plus the design. I don't have the Ella, which is not a vibe but I see it as similar to many of the g spot dils available.
