Ella done Well-ah!

While I found the smooth end of the Ella to be an effective warm up and the G-spot end to be highly stimulating on the G-spot: I can definitely understand why this won’t work for everyone’s anatomy. With some reporting that the pointed end is uncomfortable and others reporting that the G-spot end is uncomfortable: For me the gamble paid off hugely so when this works out, it can work so well!

extremely useful review
Being such a fan of the vibrating version of the Ella, the LELO Gigi, I had been curious about the Ella for years before finally adding one to my collection. With not one but two LELO Gigi’s at home (certain favorite toys you’ve just got to have a back up of) I was pleased to finally add the non-vibrating version to my bedside drawer too. LELO toys have a habit of taking up my small bedside drawers while other toys are allotted to storage under the bed and in plastic sets of drawers that are more out of reach, LELO toys need to be kept closer to the bed because of their reliability and my favoritism when it comes to the brand.

Packaging:

Available in Black, white and purple; the beautifully deep shade of purple arrives matched by its glossy packaging. Like other toys from LELO, like their range of rechargeable vibrators, the Ella boasts the same level of luxury when it comes to packaging. Inside it glossy outer sleeve is a sturdy matte black with simply the name LELO printed on it. Inside, the Ella sits well presented. This sturdy box is well suited for long term storage of the toy.

Overall I was impressed that the Ella arrives in the same luxury feeling packaging as the much more expensive rechargeable vibrators from LELO.

First Impression:

Feeling the Ella for the first time, I was instantly a fan of its matte finish silicone. While it feels like extra lube may be needed to combat the natural drag, it also seems to be a rare type of finish that results in a silicone toy with no issue of dust attraction! Its smooth and plush velvety soft finish is similar to that of the LELO Gigi and of course its shape is very similar to the Gigi too, though I was surprised to find that it is longer than the Gigi.

Feeling the Ella, it has a very firm build, much firmer than you would expect from a silicone toy. While the slim neck of the Ella has some flexibility, the rest of the toy is decidedly firm and inflexible. When squeezed it feels like there is perhaps plastic in the core of the dildo which gives it such a firm feel.

In Use/Experience:

One end of the Ella has a smooth shaft that tapers down to a pointed tip while the other end features a curved shaft that slims in the middle and is thicker at the head. Shaped very similar to the LELO Gigi this end is obviously designed to be ideal for stimulating the G-spot.

Having read quite mixed reviews about the Ella over the years, I was slightly apprehensive about whether it would work well for me. With some reporting that its curved end can catch on the pelvic bone or be uncomfortable, I tried to keep an open mind while I lubed it up for its first use.

Starting with the smooth end of the toy first, its pointed end made for easy insertion. The gentle increase in girth creates a nicely stretching sensation and the finish of the silicone is smooth but stimulating without as much drag as anticipated. Overall the smooth end works well for warming up with before moving on to the G-spot end of the toy but used by itself, it’s a bit lacking.

I was initially worried that the pointed end may prove to be uncomfortable but I personally didn’t have any problem with it. The G-spot end of the Ella is easy to grip when using it as a handle.

When moving on to the G-spot end of the Ella, I was grateful for the warm up first. This end needs a little more lube than the smooth end and its head definitely isn’t as gentle to insert but from the beginning I found it quite stimulating as it presses against the front wall and makes its presence far more known than the smooth end did. Some angling was needed for it to properly hone in on the G-spot, but once in place, it’s very firm build means that it can apply pressure to the G-spot that will rival glass or metal toys.

...
Experience

When thrusting deeply, the smooth end of the Ella can be hard to keep a grip of and while getting carried away enjoying the G-spot pleasing end; this can be a little distracting. For shorter, more G-spot concentrated thrusts this isn’t a problem but when enjoying more of the Ella’s length it can leave you with very little length left to hold. The smooth taper down to a tip means that it can get very slippery when wet too, and the level of G-spot stimulation this achieves almost guarantees it will get slippery.

Material/Care:

Made of high-quality Silicone, the Ella is scent free, taste free and free from both Latex and Phthalates. Silicone is completely non-porous meaning that it can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher or it can be simply washed after use with warm soapy water or specialized toy cleaner, it is generally believed that silicone based lubricants should not be used with silicone toys. I would recommend using a water-based lubricant with the Ella.

Oh my gosh, your title is adorable. I mean, your review is really well-written too, but for some reason, your pun just gets me. It's interesting that there might be plastic (or something) at the core to make it firmer - I wonder, if that's the case, if that makes boiling it any less safe for the structural integrity. Anyways, thank you for the review!

Thanks for the great review! Nice pics. I could see how it would be distracting trying to hold on to it for deeper thrusts. Thanks for mentioning it.
