Ella Enchanted?

I cannot tell a lie- Ella is a well crafted high quality dildo, suitable for both beginners and advanced users. As a double-ended dildo, Ella provides a variety of pleasurable sensations, and finds the g-spot with ease! Her unassuming size and non-phallic appearance makes her a perfect travel companion.

Use

Ella is an insertable double-ended dildo. One end is flat and tapered, which is really good at hitting the g-spot. The other end is straight and pointed, which is reminiscent of a more traditional dido. Do not use this dildo anally because it lacks a flared base.

Ella has a limited amount of flexibility, so she can be manipulated to hit all of the right spots. But she is relatively light, weighing in at only 111 grams. This is either a positive or negative, depending on your personal preferences. Personally, I wish it were a little larger and heavier.

I should note that the tapered end seemed to catch on my vaginal opening when I thrusted it too far forward. This was definitely a disappointment because I didn't expect any discomfort! However I found that with shallow thrusting this wasn't an issue. One of my favorite ways to use Ella is by placing her right on my g-spot and then holding a vibrator to her. So much fun!

Material / Texture

Ella is made of body safe phthalate-free silicone that is odorless and quite smooth. But there is a "LELO" logo embossed on the straight end. Make sure to clean this end extra carefully to ensure that bacteria don’t get trapped in this area (I've never had a problem with this). There is also a seam running down her back, but it's not noticeable while in use.
Since Ella is made of silicone, all silicone-based lubricants should be avoided.

I do like the silicone; however gripping the Ella can be difficult, especially if the handle (either the tapered or straight end) is covered in lubricant. I would recommend keeping a roll of paper towels nearby to remove excess lube or to aid in the gripping process.

Unfortunately Ella is very social - hair and lint hang out with her constantly! She also picks up the white threads from her (crisp white satin!!) pouch.

Design / Shape / Size

Ella was designed beautifully! The tapered end rubbed up very nicely against my g-spot, and thrusting with the straight end was very comfortable. I didn't like thrusting with the curved end because it would occasionally catch on my vaginal opening. While I am definitely happy that I invested in Ella, I was disappointed that my experience with her wasn't as overwhelmingly positive as many of the other reviewers' experiences.

This dildo was designed to be used by one person at a time. Although Ella is advertised as a "double ended dildo," it only measures 195 x 50 x 30 mm, which some may find disappointing. It is *just* long enough for me. I would imagine that Ella would do her best work during solo play, although I haven't tried using her with a partner.

Also, Ella does not have girth. While I definitely notice Ella's presence, she is much smaller than my other toys (EX the Pure Wand, Iris and many others). I tend to like larger toys, so I do not use Ella very much, even though she is a high quality dildo. But her small size makes her my toy of choice for travel! And since she is very discreet, she is unlikely to give airport security any trouble. I have traveled with her in my carry-on bag numerous times without any problems.

Performance

Ella performed well. I wouldn't say that she is my favorite dildo, however I am glad that I made the investment. I should say that I'm partial to solid toys made out of stainless steel or glass, so Ella's flexibility was a negative from my perspective.

I have had many wonderful orgasms with Ella, but I needed a vibrator on my clitoris in order to come. Then again, I haven't been able to orgasm without any clit stimulation. I also liked placing my LELO Gigi (review to be posted) against Ella, since she transfers vibrations very nicely.

Care and Maintenance

Ella can be cleaned with soap and water or sterilized via boiling or wiping with a mild 10% bleach solution. She is also dishwasher safe (but make sure to put her on the top rack). Do not clean her with products containing alcohol, petrol or acetone. And remember to clean the embossed logo thoroughly.

I also keep Ella in the enclosed white satin bag when she is not in use. This bag is not antibacterial, but it does protect Ella from the environment. Make sure to wash Ella before and after use, since she picks up dust and lint very easily. Ella should also be stored away from direct sunlight.

Again, remember not to use silicone lubricants with Ella (or any other silicone toy).

Packaging

LELO sets the bar when it comes to packaging. I purchased this toy months ago, so I don't remember the nuances of the box. But I do remember that it came in a well protected black box. When I opened the black box, Ella was there covered in a plastic shell. It felt like I was opening a jewelry box! Ella's presentation, and relatively low cost (compared to other LELO products), makes her a great present!

Personal comments

Ella is a quality dildo. I can hit my g-spot reliably. If you want a dildo with some flexibility, or if you need a dildo for traveling, then I highly recommend investing in this product. However if you strongly favor rigid toys, then Ella might not be for you.

Experience

I have had Ella for about 7 months and I do not use her very often. When I am home, I almost always reach for my larger toys. I am glad that Ella is a member of my "special drawer," however if I lose her I won't buy her again.
Follow-up commentary
I wish they had an "I kinda liked it -> I really like it" button. I definitely had a g-spot orgasm with this toy. And the most surprising part was that it was with the straight end. Clearly the toy hasn't changed, but I probably have.

I can safely say that I'll use her a lot more often from this point forward.

Sorry I don't have that one :/ But I wouldn't recommend using this toy anally since it doesn't have a flared base.

  • ella vs. others
    • I want to get ella as my first she doesn't seem as menacing as the others made of glass or metal but are those materials better sensation wise?
    • It comes down to personal preference, really. You're not going to know if glass or metal feels better to you until you try.

A couple things to keep in mind, though: glass and metal have absolutely no give, so they tend to feel bigger than silicone toys of the same size. They're also rather heavy in most cases, and so you need to be a bit more careful when you use them. Being too rough can result in internal bruising. They're very slick and smooth, though, unlike silicone which typically has some drag to it.

The Ella is pretty rigid for a silicone toy, but it's very light and easy to use. It's great if you're new to dildos. :)

I have not tried anything like that I hear alot of good things and alot of not so good things. its up to you to try and see what you prefer..

  • How Does Lelo Ella compare to Gigi?
    • I know that Ella doesn't vibrate, but are there many other differences? I am wondering whether the Ella might be a better shape or size for g-spot stimulation
    • i'm wondering this too. i bought gigi and was disappointed but ella seems even better should I or shouldn't I?

  • Would the Ella work well for a beginner?
    • I'm thinking of getting my bestfriend this for Christmas but she is new to toys. Would this be a good toy to give a newbie? I have not tried it myself so I'm not sure how easy it is to master.
    • I have the similarly shaped Gigi and found nothing but frustration when trying to thrust with it.
    • i think it would be a good option for a beginner.

  • I need help the Ella curve is doing me in.
    • I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have read every review and some twice. I can not figure this girl out. I want to write a review but, how can I write a review on something I do not get. Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help me enjoy this beautiful toy.
    • What do you not get about it? Not every toy works for every woman. Does it hurt to use? Maybe your vagina is too small for it yet or maybe you just need some lube. Do you not feel anything? Again, nothing is for everyone. Try sqeezing the toy by doing kegels when you use it. Some women say that makes things feel better. Or maybe try tilting it up towards your g-spot. That works for me with other toys.

I haven't used it yet. Just recently purchased a white Ella. And I can't wait! We've got the same name! :D
    • If you don't get it you can still write your review from that perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who had that experience with it. I have the Ella and she's nice but she's not fireworks for me and that's ok. We all have different experiences with toys and that is what makes these reviews so valuable.

  • Dildo vs. Vibrator
    • I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!
    • Quote: I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!
What I mean by this I think is, is it easier with one than the other, or maybe does it require a different mind set or even is one better with partner play vs. solo? I don't know, LOL, just curious.
    • When we started with toys it was all about clit vibes for 'effective' reliable orgasms. But as we got into g-spot and a-spot stimulation, dildos have advantages over vibes because pressure is more important than vibes.

Now we almost always have some of both going on. A dildo for internal and a clit vibe for external - although she occasionally likes two vibes.

The only truism I've found is that what she wants/needs is different almost every time. I use to think 'this worked last time - so lets do it again' - but now I think 'we did that last time - what can I do to mix things up'.

That's why we have dozens of toys - both vibes and dildos.

  • Ella for beginners
    • Hey! I was just wondering if Ella would be something an absolute beginner could use, someone who's never gone looking for her g-spot before. She seems awfully tempting, but I wonder if I it's too advanced a toy for me?

Ella is perfect for beginners. I had tried several other G-spot toys before Ella. Ella was the first one that worked for me. Several people have had their first successes with Ella.

  • Ella and Gigi
    • I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?

They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one!

I just bought the Ella and have not tried it yet, but everyone seems to love it. I have had the GiGi for a couple of months and rarely use it, mainly because the control thing is located in the worst possible spot, and I invariably hit it and make the settings change! Argh! I also had no luck with it for g-spot stimulation, and the only times I get it out it is for clit work.

Even though I wasn't crazy about GiGi, it seems to do the job for a lot of people, so it might work for you. In fact, I bought it based on all the wonderful reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one toy that will do the trick for everyone. Everyone is VERY different in their tastes and what they need.
    • I agree that no toy is good for everyone. I can not get a rabbit vibe that actually works for me by stimulating my clit and vag at the same time. Perhaps its operator error.
Anyway, I love the Gigi. I solved the control issue for me anyway by wiping the lube off the control and my fingers...success. The effectiveness of the Gigi is the vibe plus the design. I don't have the Ella, which is not a vibe but I see it as similar to many of the g spot dils available.
