Fine. I have a crush on a dildo.

I have a huge crush on Mikey, a shortish, thick dildo made of Tantus’s O2 dual-density silicone, one of the loveliest materials ever. He’s firm yet deliciously squishy. He has a kind of modest personality even though he packs a punch. Even when we’re not going at it, I have a hard time keeping my hands off of him.

extremely useful review
At 1.75” in diameter and 6” long (5” insertable), Mikey is a fabulous all-purpose dildo for those who like girth but not so much length. For me, he’s a perfect size for vaginal penetration, delicious to thrust with, and easy to maneuver during solo play. His short stature makes him partner-friendly for vaginal play; partners can thrust vigorously without fear of cervix-banging.

Though too girthy for my butt, Mikey’d be absolutely luscious for anal play. His flared base makes him anal-safe, and his incredibly velvety texture would feel really luxurious.

If you’re a beginner to dildos, you should probably start with someone smaller!

Material/Texture

Mikey is made of Tantus’s O2 dual-density silicone, with a firm inner core and a softer outer layer. The soft layer is thinnest at the base, which is pretty firm, and thickest at the head, which is almost entirely squishy. This is my thumb hitting the firm underlayer of Mikey’s shaft, near the base:

ThumbShaft

And this is my thumb squishing his head; I could have squished harder but didn't want my fingernail to injure him:

ThumbHead

It’s hard to tell how thick the soft layer is in other places. I think overall there’s increasingly more of the soft outer layer as you travel farther up the shaft and also more soft material on the “underside” of the shaft. Although I’m not sure how similar the placement of the softer and firmer layers is, try checking out Tantus’s colored O2 products, the Flurry, Cush, and Revolution. In those, the soft layer is white and the hard inner layer is colored, so you can see the effect better.

Although Mikey has a noticeable head and frenulum, he isn’t dramatically textured. For the most part, I didn’t feel the texture when using him vaginally: I felt the head and some general texturey feeling, but couldn’t really isolate specific sources of that feeling. It’s hard to describe. I think I experienced the texture more as part of the overall velvety sensation.

Mickey’s surface feels gummy. If you grip him and then remove your hand, you can hear your skin and Mikey’s surface separating. It’s one thing that makes him a Lint Magnet. But it’s also a reason why I can’t stop fondling him.

Design / Shape / Size

Mikey is quite realistic in some spots and what I’d call “abstract” elsewhere. I find it a pleasant combination. It’s got the visual warmth of skin without seeming like he's trying too hard to be "a real boy" or conversely, looking too disembodied. If you want something that might be confused for the real thing, I’m not sure Mikey would satisfy you. But he totally works for me.

MikeyTexture

Mikey’s base is nice and sturdy. It’s pliable enough to be comfortable to hold, I was also able to thrust pretty hard with him held only by one end of the base. The bottom of the base is flat, and while I wouldn’t purchase Mikey with the expectation of getting suction from the base, I was able to stick it pretty well to a wood table without trying, so it might be worth a try on a more suction-friendly surface. He’s also harness-compatible, and although I don’t have a harness, I expect his base would anchor him well. (Bear in mind, though, that a harness would further decrease his insertable length.)

Mikey bends more easily toward the front/top (the “g-spot direction”) than toward the back/underside. This is nice because it encourages Mikey to head toward the g-spot/p-spot. He lacks the pronounced ridge or curve that would provide specifically targeted g-/p-spot stimulation, but his size and smushiness may provide that stimulation for you anyway.

If you like the idea of O2 silicone but aren’t sure about Mikey’s overall look, color, or dimensions, check out this comparison of the whole O2 line: link.

Care and Maintenance

Mikey is nonporous, sturdy, and has no crevices, so he’s really easy to take care of: wash with soap and water or a toy cleaner; boil, dishwasher, or bleach him for heavier cleaning. He needs water-based lubricants; no silicone.

He’s a total lint magnet. I mean really. After being washed, patted dry with a lint-free microfiber cloth, and spot-cleaned with masking tape, he still shows fur and lint in the pictures. To avoid lint, you could store him in a ziplock bag, but since that's not a fight I can win, I’ll store him loose in my toy drawer (but away from things that could stain him) and then wash and air-dry Mikey before use.

Packaging

Mikey comes in a plastic Tantus box, clearly (haha) intended to enable shoppers to see him, with text addressing the benefits of silicone and Tantus toys. You could store him in the box; mine doesn't close well, though.

Experience
I love Mikey’s texture. Seriously, every time I see him I have to just take him in my hands and squeeze him and smush him around. I can’t decide whether my partner is jealous that I can’t keep my hands off of Mikey, or just glad that I don’t smush him around like that. The tactile sensation he provides is so delicious, even just in my hands.

MikeyGrip

I use him by himself and in combination with my Salsa on my clit or on Mikey's base; he picks up the vibrations nicely. I can feel all of his girth and length and can thrust pretty hard without worrying about bonking my cervix--though given the plushness of his head, I wouldn’t worry even if he was somewhat longer. I like being able to insert him far enough that I can feel his base against me. The combination of firmness and softness is just luscious. I can really feel the give in the material, even down toward the base, which is amazing; at the same time, the solidness feels great and makes him easy to “steer.” I don't need to grip the whole base, but can just hold one side. And the surface texture, combined with a little lube, is heavenly. It’s neither slick nor draggy, but really velvety. I think he's the most positive textural experience I’ve ever had.

To me, Mikey feels somewhat bigger than his size, especially at first. My theory is that with dual density, the plushness feels puffy, like an overstuffed chair, and the firmness, while certainly not the rigidity of glass or metal, works to kind of push the plushness against you, so that you’re getting both the puffiness of softer toys and the "push" of firmer toys.

My only complaint about him is that I'd like a little more direct g-spot stimulation. His sheer size makes him hit my g-spot, but not in a targeted way. I'm currently carrying on an online flirtation with the Tantus O2 Cush that will probably lead to an in-person date. Meanwhile, Ella is addressing my intense-g-spot needs.

I stuck him in the fridge for a while and he holds temperature well, but not as dramatically as glass or metal, which I like better for temperature play than silicone anyway.

Is he realistic feeling? Mostly--and the things I find less realistic are all positive. Some characteristics of Mikey are kind of real-but-“more.” For example, I think of the surface texture as "hyper-skin," more skin-like than actual skin, as though Tantus brainstormed the qualities of skin and then imbued Mikey with more of those qualities than skin has. The plushness is like that, too. There’s a romance-novel cliche equation describing erections as (insert luxurious textile of choice here, e.g. velvet or satin) over (insert luxurious stone of choice here, e.g. granite or marble). There’s a certain feeling that real cocks have, of soft skin sliding over harder flesh, and Mikey doesn’t exactly have that. But I really like what he does have. Mikey is like velvet over marshmallows over … over more like nice, firm, real flesh than marble.
