Fit for a Goddess - Video Review

The Hera is the perfect glass dildo for just about anyone, from beginner to advanced and even jaded users. Though it's entirely smooth and looks simple, looks can be deceiving. It's girth and length and ease with which one can find their G-spot with this toy make it far more versatile and pleasing than you may expect!

The Hera, by Luxotiq, is a simple glass dildo with a feminine, curvy shape and a completely smooth surface.

Measuring in at 8 inches long -- six inches of insertable length with a two inch handle -- and a diameter of 1.5 inches, Hera is plenty long enough and thick enough to please those who love a bit of girth. It's also smooth enough and frictionless enough to be manageable even for the toy novice if they give themselves time to work up to it and be ready.

The pink glass is cool to the touch at room temperature but rapidly warms up while in use. Because glass holds temperature well and changes temperature easily you can also warm or cool it before use to experience even more sensations. Just be sure to do so gently! You don't want to change the temperature rapidly or you'll risk breaking your new toy!

The Hera is simple yet curved, starting out with a narrowish tip and flaring out to it's full diameter then easing back in to the handy handle. The narrower tip makes insertion a breeze, letting you ease in to the largest part of the shaft. The handle makes it easy to grip - though it does get a bit slippery if you use a lot of lube.

Luckily, with glass you don't need much lube. You can also use any lube you'd like; oil, water or silicone based. I recommend the tiniest drop of silicone as it gives a marvelous glide without any gloopy feeling and is less likely to become over lubed. Use caution with oil based as they are not intended for vaginal use, especially those with a mineral oil/petroleum base. Natural oils are a bit more safe as far as I can determine.

Anal play with the Hera is relatively safe so long as you always -always! - maintain a grip on the handle. It doesn't have a flared base so it's possible it could slide fully into the anus if you're not cautious!

The surface of the Hera is so smooth, so utterly frictionless, that you'd almost think it would be boring. Instead, it is superb. The easy glide, the full sensation, the cool (or warm) glass and the firmness make for a wonderful experience -- though if a lot of texture is your thing, you may like this less than I do. Despite the lack of texture or any curve to the shaft, however, the fact that it is so firm makes g-spotting quite easy. For me it's a never miss with any glass toy but the Hera is easier than a lot of them. I believe it's because of the handle and the ease with which you can angle it.

Luxotiq toys come packaged fantastically and the Hera is no exception. It's nestled into a bed of white satin in a white box with a pink interior, all wrapped up with a pretty white ribbon to keep the heavy duty yet elegant box closed securely.

Both the toy and the box are discreet and likely wouldn't be looked at twice if left out where people can see. The toy isn't phallic in design and looks, more so than any other I own, like it could be a paperweight or a piece of glass art for the desktop. The box, while it does say "Luxotiq" in black script on the lid, is unobtrusive and wouldn't leave anyone who looks at it speculating that there is a sex toy in it.

Clean up with soap and water, toy cleaner, a wipe or a damp, soft cloth. The Hera, like all glass, can be shared since it can be sanitized via a ten percent bleach solution, boiling or running it thru a cycle in the dishwasher on the top shelf with no soap.

Glass collects little lint or dust, especially if stored properly -- and Luxotiq's packaging ensures you're able to do that. They also tuck a small, pink, lint free cloth into the box so that you can polish off finger prints any time you need to without scratching the toy.

Luxotiq is one of my favorite glass manufacturers and the clear, flaw free surface and interior of this simple, curvy, yet amazing toy reminds me exactly why that is.
Follow-up commentary
Every time I use the Hera it amazes me that such a simple looking toy can be so very pleasing.

Unlike most of my glass toys that get tucked into padded bags and put into their special toy box, the Hera sits on my bookshelf next to the bed in it's original box. (You don't get other storage with it and i've yet to buy a padded bag for it) The benefit of this is I tend to reach for it first when I'm in the mood for glass because it's close by and easy to grab without getting out of bed and digging thru a box...

The Hera remains filling and stimulating and amazing in use. Luxotiq definitely has my vote for some of the best glass out there. From it's solid feel to flawless interior, it's a gorgeous and good feeling product and a welcome change from some of the highly textured glass.

Simple = amazing in the Hera's case.

Simply amazing.
