At first I was alarmed to see a glass dildo, but as soon as we tried it, my reservations drifted away. Although the Pure Pleasure Glass Probe is by nature very hard, its exceptionally smooth finish allows it to feel gentle when used carefully.

The dildo is perhaps thinner than is ideal for vaginal penetration but the shape, which tapers in and out, ensures that you get plenty of sensation when using it. If you need added feeling you can always hold the thin end and use the bulb at the other end for an intense penetration. It can also be used anally and doesn't need much lubrication to slide in readily - this is fortunate as the token quantity of free lubricant won't last you long. However, when using with a partner (vaginally or otherwise) it's best to take things very slowly at first because getting the wrong angle or intensity could be very painful with such a solid dildo.

Although you could heat your Pleasure Probe before using it, it's probably not worth the hassle because it warms up rapidly when you penetrate with it. Also, the cool feeling against your labia before insertion is very pleasant.

As for hygiene, the Pleasure Probe is extremely easy to wash and the velvet case it comes in means that it stays clean while you're not using it.

It's certainly one of the more pleasant dildos to look at - its glass body catches the light and makes some beautiful reflections. This may seem like a minor point when considering which sex toy to purchase but there have been products I've used in the past that have looked so ridiculous or ugly that they've generated laughter in the bedroom and destroyed the mood. This lovely product is not one of those.

On a slightly lighter note, a glass dildo would make an excellent self-defense weapon, should you be mugged whilst carrying it!
