Golden Frauline
The Goldfrau Classic Violet is a beautifully packaged and presented luxury dildo for the woman who has everything! It is truly a lovely toy with which to treat yourself or to give as a very special gift.Published: November 17, 2008
Pros:
Very attractive. simply rich-feeling and decadent.
Cons:
Very pricey for something so basic.
The Goldfrau Classic Violet is my first and only venture into the world of ceramic toys. It is truly a premium dildo, for those looking for something special with which to supplement their collection; truly a luxury item due to its high price tag and lack of bells and whistles.
The feeling of owning a truly luxury product came, for me, when I first opened the package and discovered the leather roll-up storage case. It is a lined piece of pocketed leather that rolls up around the dildo like a scroll and ties with two leather thongs. The package was heavy, since the Goldfrau Classic Violet weighs in at one pound. Slowly, lovingly, I unwrapped the leather and discovered a glossy white shaft decorated with delicate violet flowers. I was immediately won over!
Upon closer inspection, the Goldfrau Classic Violet is not as perfect as it first seemed. The flowers are not, as I had expected, painted on, but rather appear to be a sort of decal applied under the glaze. You can see the edges of the decal if you look very closely; but since you DO have to look VERY closely to see them, I was not particularly bothered by this fact. The second shortcoming is that the handle knob at the bottom is unglazed, and can look a bit dingy compared to the rest of the dildo. Still, though, these are minor quibbles, and the Goldfrau is truly a lovely piece.
In terms of performance, the Goldfrau is quite basic. It is approximately 8” long, 6 ½” insertable, and about 1 ¼” diameter at its widest. The shaft starts wider at the top and tapers as it reaches the handle. The shaft is meant for thrusting, and while not quite as smooth as glass, it is still very smooth and not adorned with any nubs, ridges, ripples or bends. The non-glazed handle helps you maintain a decent grip on the dildo, even when using lube.
The ceramic itself was a pleasant experience. It is very heavy and solid-feeling, and warms quickly to body temperature. The dildo can be heated under warm tap water or cooled by placing it under cool water or in the refrigerator (according to the instructions). Avoid, however, switching between extremes of temperature. It adjusts to the surrounding temperature surprisingly quickly, and warmed deliciously to my body.
Clean up is easy with soap and warm water. You can clean the Goldfrau as you would ceramic dinnerware, just do not use anything abrasive on it. It can be used with any type of lube.

Experience
My most pleasurable experience with my Goldfrau came on Halloween, after a party, while I was still dressed as Marie Antoinette. I came home, gently unwrapped my Goldfrau, and imagined I was indeed the tragic queen enjoying a private moment. The packaging and presentation, design, and material of the Goldfrau gave an aura of authenticity to my playtime that I could not achieve with the other toys in my collection.

Thank you for viewing Goldfrau classic violet – dildo review page!

Do you keep this lovely piece on your mantle or with your other toys? ;)
Haha, it's in my special toy box!
Enjoyed your review as always. Do you believe that glass provides a better experience then ceramic? Or does it depend on the day?.
I luv the
Thanks, Liz2! I generally prefer glass to ceramic, though this is really quite amazing in how quickly it heats to your body temperature. Also, the unglazed knob makes for a better grip than is found on most glass.
I'd be disappointed if I dropped almost $200 on a toy to find out they had plopped a decal on it instead of hand painting it. It is so beautiful though.. but still, I don't know- for a toy with that price tag I'd expect better.
I WAS a bit disappointed, but then decided to dwell on the positives about this piece. And there is a heavy coat of laquer so the decal lines are hardly noticeable. But yeah, I agree with you--I expected hand-painted...
I wish there were more ceramic toys out there. I know I would be disappointed if I spent the money on this one -- you know how much I love texture.
I do wish there were a wider selection, as well. This really is a lovely product, and I would love to have more like it for comparison...
I know this review was done months ago but I have to say after reading this review I agree with others in that I can't believe it's a decal! Still so beautiful and I can't wait to con my hubby into buying it for me! LOL
It truly is a luxury piece, and if you can keep yourself from inspecting it too thoroughly every time you use it and just enjoy how pretty it is, it's worth the investment. Extra points if you're into fantasy/historical roleplay!
I loved your additional story about using it dressed as Marie Antoinette. This toy really does seem appropriate for that!
Great review and the experience part made it even better!
Yeah, that's a bit disappointing that it has a decal instead of hand-painted flowers. Still, this is such a gorgeous dildo. Loved the shared experience of you using it while dressed as Marie Antoinette.
Thanks for the review!
nice review! such a pretty piece...
Nice review!
Great review!
Disappointing that it's just a decal, but oh well - still lovely! Thanks for the review!
does seem really expensive
It is very pretty, but I don't see paying that price for it.
