The Feeldoe Violet is easily my favorite toy, mostly because you get to have a dildo, without the harness, enabling you to be even closer to your partner while they (and probably you at the same time) climax. From a girl-on-girl standpoint, who wouldn't want to feel vag-on-vag WITH penetration? That having been said, it has its limits
1) Its length, which looks much longer than it actually is after one end has been inserted, limits positions to missionary-like styles (no spooning sex from behind).
2) The shaft itself isn't terribly flexible, although the skinny part of the bulb end does bend quite a bit.
3) It falls out if there is too much backwards pull on the bulb end, regardless of how strong your vaginal muscles are. This, again, is not a problem in basic missionary or cowgirl positions, but can be a major issue in more complex positions. (On a similar note, the ridges at the base have never done anything for me; the bulb simply doesn't stay far enough up in the vagina even when it is securely in place.)
Lube is likely necessary for comfort, but it really depends on the person (it is made of silicone, so only use water-based lubricants). It cleans really easily; you can wash it by hand, in boiling water or even in your dishwasher. There is a vibrating bullet included, which is pretty good and can be felt by both partners, but it isn't really a reason to buy this toy. The bullet also tends to get stuck in its holder once you put it in, so just don't shove it too far in unless you never want to get it back out (and I suggest taking it out for cleaning).
On a purely aesthetic note; it's really pretty. I love the purple color (especially nice for those of us looking for a less-realistic dildo), and the overall shape is just nice to look at.

Having used the Feeldoe Violet for some time now, I'm still in love with its idea and functionality but continue to have the same issues with it - it just isn't always long enough.

In many ways yes, it is better than a strap on dildo used in a harness. This can also be used in a harness and there are a variety of reviews you can read to decide if you would like to purchase it.

Most people need a harness, but when it's used the giver usually gets more stimulation and slightly better control.
I'd recommend the Share or Vixen Nexus before the Feeldoe.

My boyfriend and I are familiar with, and huge fans of, the Feeldoe line of double-ended strapless strapon dildoes. Now I have learned through feeldoe.com that another product exists: the Realdoe. It's a Feeldoe in realistic skintone, in the same dimensions as the Feeldoe Violet but a little softer. Is this also made by Tantus, or does anyone know who does manufacture it of NOT Tantus? Feeldoe compatable harness

On a side note - vaginal muscles do not have to be as "up to par" as you might think to use this. Having used this on the bulb/holding end myself, I've only ever had it fall out if things get rough, and I have never done a kegel exercise in my life and I know my vagina is larger than most to boot.

You don't *need* a harness with any of the double ended dildos, as they are designed to be kept in place by the wearer's kegel muscles. I have the Syd, and love it :)

Welcome to EF. If you have concerns about the length there's always the More, but I'd recommend the Share series as a first "Strapless" double.
