I Think I’ll Have the China Black
The Pleasure is a smooth, seriously bulbed ceramic dildo. While slightly larger than many beginner toys, the glazed surface means it needs very little lube for a great deal of play. Glazed in dramatic black or red, the non-phallic design is simple and attractive. The lightweight material makes it easy on the wrists even with extended use, and the design is both easy to hold onto in the heat of the moment, and a sheer delight to use.Published: October 8, 2009
Pros:
Ceramic, easy to clean and sterilize, can be shared, easy to grip, recyclable packaging.
Cons:
Bag isn't padded, small color selection.

Over the past months, this has remained one of my favorite dildos. There's something about the ceramic that's subtly different from glass that just keeps me coming back. It's incredibly comfortable, fun, easy to clean, and versatile. It holds temperatures well, too, but doesn't wear out my wrist the way a similar glass toy would. The Pleasure has held up well over extended use and abuse. The suede pouch has also held up well. I'm not overly enamored of the way the flap is put together at the top, because every single bulge in the Pleasure catches on it. A slightly wider opening would have made it much easier to put away the toy. It's done a good job at protecting the Pleasure, though, for an unpadded bag.
One fun thing I discovered in playing with it is that the ceramic transmits vibrations well, if you're careful. Holding a soft vibrator against the base makes the whole toy shudder in a delicious way. Make sure it's a soft vibrator, like silicone, though. Hard vibrating toys could cause cracks or micro-fractures that would compromise the integrity of the toy. And with a toy this wonderful, you really don't want to damage it.

How gorgeous is this?

I'm so in lust here. I've never used a ceramic toy before, in fact, I've been a pretty monogamous with silicone for quite some time. Recently I've been expanding my horizons in terms of materials and I think this baby might be my first ceramic purchase (once it's available).
Does anyone here with ceramic experience have any other recommendations, or does this seem like a safe bet? Thanks y'all! :) -

My point of view is that the Pleasure is a good starter toy for those new to ceramic, it is real smooth, lightweight and manuevers easily. My first toy was a ceramic one, ironiclly that I made and from there my love of harder material toys grew. I am here to answer any questions you may have about ceramic and would love to hear others experiences too.

Thank you for responding, Laura! I'm only recently discovering the thrill that harder materials like glass and ceramic can provide. It's definitely unlike anything else. As long as you are here to field questions, I'd love to know a little more about the process of making ceramic toys is like. I took a ceramics class once in high school, but I get the feeling this might be a bit different :P

Thank you for viewing Pleasure – dildo sex toy review page!

Wow. I thought about this but decided against it. I think I may have made a mistake. And how gorgeous does the black look in the high quality photos?! How hot did you find this became from yuor body alone in relation to glass or metal?
The only question I have is the same that Adriana has asked already. Other than wondering about that, this seems wonderful. I just might have to put this on my wish list now, lol. Great review! Thanks.
I want this toy so much. Nice review. Is the disk at the base made of plastic? I'm more curious about whether it is squishy or hard than its actual material. Have you actually used it as a massager? I'd be a little afraid of snapping it in half if I pushed at a bad angle during a massage. Maybe straight down would be fine. I love those undulations. Mmm.
Sorry guys, I realized that these questions slipped under the radar when notifications were acting funny.
Adriana: It really does look gorgeous, the black is so rich and glossy. I found that it seemed to be warmer than glass, but not as warm as metal. It got comfortable, but never seemed hotter than my body the way my aluminum dildo does.
Rockin: The disk is more ceramic, like the rest of the toy. I have indeed used it as a massager. It's still very thick at the necks between bubbles. I like to roll or glide it along horizontally (example: flat on the person's back, held side-to-side, rolling it up and down the back).
This is such a beautiful and fascinating toy! Thanks for the great review.
