The Reflections Amber by Doc Johnson is a vaginal dildo best used for penetration or outer vaginal stimulation by rubbing it up and down or side to side over the clitoris, depending of course upon your preference. With some extra caution this dildo could be used anally, just be sure you have a good grip on it before inserting to ensure you won't lose it (for those of you who can take larger toys anally that is). Depending on your g-spot/p-spot placement this dildo could possibly stimulate that area for you as well since it is very rigid and has a nice rounded, bulbous tip.

Beginners to glass may want to start with something a little smaller just in case this one happens to be too big in either diameter or length. Just keep in mind that the rigidity and unforgiving nature of glass will make some toys seem way bigger than they are when compared to one the same size in something more pliable like silicone. Conversely size queens will find more to love about the Amber than say, the Icicles No. 8, but it is still on the small side for those who really like a good full feeling from their dildos.

Being made from glass means this dildo is great at holding temperature if that is something you are into. Just warm it up or cool down in a bowl filled with warm or iced water and enjoy! Glass is also waterproof making it not only easy to clean but it is great for shower and bath time play. Be careful about dropping the glass dildo in the bathtub or shower though, it may not hold up to the fall but you don't have to worry about it shattering, it will most likely break into a few big chunks.

This dildo is best used solo because you know exactly how it feels and how to adjust it to make it a better experience without hurting yourself but it can be used with/on a partner or during sex if you're careful. So those who like double penetration with rigid toys or just some clitoral stimulation during intercourse may enjoy this one.

The Amber is made from tempered glass, which is basically the same as Pyrex glass so it too earns a 10/10 rating on the safety scale. It is also hypoallergenic, food-grade material, latex- and phthalates-free and non-porous. Glass is a very rigid, unforgiving and smooth material that's usually cool to the touch but can be easily warmed up if that's something that bothers you.

This dildo only comes in the clear glass with amber/gold swirling inside and an iridescent rainbow effect on the surface. It's very beautiful looking but hard to take pictures of to show certain effects so keep that in mind when viewing the photos.

There was no odor upon opening this toy and it does grab on skin just the slightest bit so you'll want to use some kind of lubricant. Luckily with glass all lubricants are compatible so you can just use your favorite kind and not have to worry about possibly ruining your toy.

The Amber is 7 3/4" in total length with 6 1/4" of that being insertable. The rounded tip is 1 1/4" in diameter and it tapers down to just under 1". It then flares out into another 1 1/4" diameter bulge and again tapers down to just under 1". It then flares out into a 1 3/8" diameter bulge before tapering down again to under 1" and then flaring out into the 1 1/2" diameter ball handle. If you can handle inserting 1 1/2" in diameter you could use both ends of this dildo making it more versatile.

This is one heavy piece of glass weighing in at one whole pound, definitely a lot heavier than the Icicles No. 8. There are no gaps or seams in this toy but there are a lot of tiny bubbles inside it. They cannot be felt in any way during use since they are deep inside so there's no need to worry about that.

The Reflections Amber glass dildo works best for gentle thrusting and rubbing along the inner vaginal lips and clitoris. It also works pretty well on some g-spots/p-spots, can be used anally with extra caution and is a great toy to add to shower or bath time play. The Amber is in addition great for temperature play since the glass will easily hold temperatures for a while.

A little bit of lubricant goes a long way with glass toys so keep that in mind, especially if you are using this toy anally. Also be sure the thrusting you use with this toy is gentle because the glass could bruise or in other ways do some internal damage if you are too rough with it.

The Amber is waterproof and so that means it's easy to clean; wash with warm water and antibacterial soap or toy cleaner or wipe it down with a toy and body wipe. This can also be sterilized by boiling for three minutes, tossing it in the top rack of the dishwasher without detergent or wiping it down with a 10% bleach solution. Just be sure you rinse it thoroughly so you are not introducing bleach to delicate body areas.

Sadly this toy did not come with a storage pouch so you will want to buy one or make one yourself so this has something to keep it safe while being stored away with your other toys. Other than that, this can be stored anywhere it will fit and be safe from being dropped, etc.

The Amber came resting in a clear plastic molded insert that was inside a plastic box with a hanging tab on the top of it. It is blue with some silvery and white designs down the sides and the front clearly shows the toy inside the box. It also has a few little bits of information about the toy along with the Doc Johnson logo on it. The back gives you a little more information about the toy and it says, "Sensual glass shapes for sensual satisfaction," in five different languages.

The packaging is not discreet at all and makes okay short term storage so it should be wrapped if gifting this to someone else and recycled where possible when empty.

I'm not really sure why but when I read the product page for this toy I was thinking it was about the same size as the Icicles No. 8 which is really not the case as I've found out. I have to say that this is definitely a keeper in my eyes.

As soon as this arrived along with my other shipment containing my Devine playchest I was beyond excited to get it open. Once I took it out of the box I noticed how heavy it was and thought that was interesting. I also noticed just looking at it sitting there in it's packaging that it was a bit larger than the Icicles No. 8 which came as a surprise to me because I somehow thought they'd be closer in size.

After my initial inspection I took this out of the packaging and added a tiny bit of my favorite lubricant. I then rubbed it around and liked the bulges running over my clitoris, it was interestingly stimulating that way. Insertion was easy and pain free but I made sure I was going slow like I usually do with new glass toys. Once past the first bulge (or the rounded tip) it was easy to get used to and the second bulge was no big deal. I tried to insert it past the second bulge and I could only get as far as the end of the tapered section before the third bulge before it felt like I was hitting my cervix with it so I backed it off. After that I just used a gentle thrusting motion and carried it off that way while rubbing my clitoris with my other hand.
