The Tentacle is made from a gorgeous smooth, matte silicone. It has a lovely luminescent swirl of blue and purple winding up the thick shaft, with an overlaying sparkle dual rows of graduating glow in the dark suckers. The high grade, almost odour free, silicone is firm enough for easy insertion but still flexible enough to move and bend with the natural curves of your body. It has very little stretch and has zero floppiness to it even though it bends fairly easily. The texture of the silicone itself is quite smooth with only a very slight texture to it. But on the front side, the suckers are very pronounced and are definitely a big feature of this toy. I would recommend that only intermediate users and upward try this one. The sheer girth can be intimidating even for me.

The food grade silicone has a very little odour but the flat base is a little stronger smelling than the shaft. It is dishwasher safe (top rack, no soap), can be cleaned with a 10% bleach solution, and it's safe to lather up with some antibacterial hand wash too. Also, since the deep textured suckers can hold onto some lube or fluids I always give it a good hard rinse before cleaning it properly. I have yet to notice any colour bleed from this highly pigmented toy, but as I said, I do keep it out on display so if you are going to have it with other toys I would suggest a bag of some kind just in case and it will also help keep some of the dust away from this lint magnet.

The packaging, although simple, was enough in my opinion. It came in a simple zip lock bag with a care instructions card and some info on Whipspider Rubberworks. Although some could say the packaging was lacking because it doesn’t really give you anything to store it in, I think The Tentacle is artistic enough to sit open air in anyones bedroom... or where ever you want to show it off.
