Icicles #8 is a dildo made of clear glass with blue helix swirls inside, and a subtle iridescent coating on the outside. It can be used to gaze at, while you marvel at its luminescence. Hold it up in the sunlight, and you'll be tempted to hang it in your window!




But that's not really what it's for. It's a fairly slim glass dildo with smooth bulges on the shaft, and a ball-shaped end. When you are done admiring its beauty, you can gently thrust it in & out of your or your partner's vagina or anus (good communication and a trusty lube is necessary when using unyielding glass toys to avoid pain or bruising). You can heat it up in a bowl of warm water or cool it down with cold water and enjoy the different temperature sensations that will result.

The Icicles #8 dildo is made of borosilicate glass, which is made by adding boron to the ingredients of regular glass before it's heated and liquefied, and the boron changes the crystal structure inside the resulting glass, making it much less likely to break or shatter. Also, it is more resilient during temperature changes. So you don't have to worry that this dildo will break inside you, or shatter. If you were to drop it onto a hard surface, it may break, but not in shards like regular glass; it would probably break into larger pieces that are less likely to hurt anyone. Because glass is so hard and doesn't have any flex or give with the body's curves, it's important to be careful when using it. Insert it gently and don't do any heavy thrusting until you're sure how it feels to you. Don't get lost in the moment and use it harder than you should, and make sure, if your partner has control of it while it's inside you, that you keep the lines of communication open and express if there is any pain or discomfort at any time.

This is a fairly narrow glass dildo and would be a great one for someone just starting out using glass or wanting to experiment with it. It is about 7" in length.

It has three gentle bulges that range from 3" to 3 1/2" in circumference (1" to 1 1/4" in diameter). The larger ball at the end is 4 1/2" in circumference (a little more than 1 1/2" diameter). The valleys between the bulges are just slightly smaller, and the bulges are not extremely pronounced. If you know you don't like any texture at all, then skip this one, but if you're interested in trying some or you like gentle widening, this toy is for you. I like quite a bit of texture, but this dildo feels so gentle and nice, it's a good change of pace.

If you want something similar but a little larger, there is the Doc Johnson Reflections Amber, which is a similar shape and design, but is somewhat larger and girthier. They are often compared with each other and many people prefer the size of the Reflections Amber.

I wouldn't use it for traveling unless it's packed very well, and even then it wouldn't be my first choice. It could get broken if your suitcase is searched and it's dropped. Also, it's not discreet; even though it's such a pretty art glass piece, it's obvious what it is really meant for (nobody uses a cocktail swizzle stick this large).

This dildo isn't curved at all, and probably won't hit your G-spot without some serious maneuvering, but I was able to get it when I used the larger ball end. It wasn't perfect, and wouldn't be my first choice, but it's always nice to have something different to use once in awhile.

It's a nice size for anal use, and the large ball on the end makes a good base. Always use your best judgment about what is safe when using toys for anal penetration.

You can use any lube with glass, and you can clean it in any manner you'd like, including boiling it or putting it through a dishwasher cycle (and of course you can use soap & water, or toy cleaner or wipes).

Store this toy carefully where it won't bump against other toys. It can be stored in its box or in a bag (some glass toys come with their own bag but this one doesn't), or you can wrap it in bubble wrap. You could even put it in a sock.

The Icicles #8 comes in a nice sturdy cardboard box, with a special cushioning foam insert, and a window so you can see the toy inside when you open up the front flap. It's tasteful packaging, and would probably hold up for long-term storage, but it's still obvious what is inside, so if you want it to be a secret, use something else to store it in, or wrap it if it's a gift.

I think this dildo is really beautiful and I'm happy to add it to my (small) collection. It's nice when the toy companies make something like this that is a little different from the norm (by adding the blue helix inside and the iridescent coating). It's a little slim to satisfy my dildo cravings but still has a place in my toy box for sure, for those times when something more gentle is called for.
