California Exotic's Pure Skin Player is a great beginner dildo for those looking for something realistic in size and feel or for those who just like something averaged sized. It can be used both vaginally and for anal play and will fit into an o-ring harness for strap-on play. The suction cup makes the Player great for hands-free riding and also provides a nice grip. Used alone or with a partner, the Pure Skin Player is a nice addition to your bedroom romps. It would also make for a good DP toy. For those inexperienced with fellatio, this is a great size to practice on!

The Pure Skin Player is made out of Pure skin as the name suggests. Pure Skin is actually thermal plastic elastomer which is a mixture of PVC and silicone. The good news is that it's phthalates and latex free. It is very porous and has an Eden material safety rating of 1. Due to this fact, you must use a condom over it when sharing and/or going from vaginal to anal penetration. I found it to have a very harsh chemical smell that would not go away even after washing and a slight taste. Even after multiple washings and letting it sit out for a few days, the smell was not gone. It did lessen quite a bit though because right out of package it was overpowering. The Pure Skin Player has dual density so it has a plushy, squishy outer layer and a more firm inner layer. This made the dildo feel very soft, yet firm and close to realistic. The material took a long time to warm up though and the balls never really got warm themselves. Depending on your preference, this material would feel good for anyone who's looking for a close enough to real feeling dong. Due to it being so smelly I am only giving this a 3-star rating.

The design of this dildo is decently made. It is definitely designed to mimic the average guy's penis. The measurements on my box are different than those on Eden. It has a length of 7 inches with 5.25 inches of that being insertable. It's not very girthy having a circumference of 5 inches. I would say this makes it ideal for those who are looking for a realistic anal dildo or those who aren't into really large and girthy toys. This dildo will fit anyone just fine. The Player is shaped pretty much like a real penis. It has a bulbous head and a nice smooth shaft and there are no seams. At the base it has a nice set of heavy balls that are slightly wrinkled. There is also a suction cup attached at the bottom of the toy. There are veins on it but they are barely visible and undetectable once inserted. This particular model was made to have the foreskin still attached but I didn't notice any extra pleasure from it being there. It did however, add to the realistic look of this toy. This toy is ideal for both single and partner play.
You probably don't want to take the Player on a trip with you. It's very obviously a dildo. If you are just going over to a friend's place and not dealing with customs, it's a good size to travel and can even be put in a larger sized purse.

The best feature about this toy is the flexibility of it. It's firm enough but it's also very bendable. That makes it easy to manipulate it to hit the right spots. The downfall of this is trying to insert it while it's suctioned to a surface. It doesn't stand back fully erect with a curve so you have to do some maneuvering. The suction cup sticks really well to tiled surfaces and not so well to others. It makes this dong great for play in the shower. It is really easy to use this toy alone because the suction cup makes for a great grip to plunge it in and out. Overall it has a very nice feel sliding in and out. The material makes it feel close to real and it gets very slippery when it's all lubed up. Bending this thing just right makes it great for hitting your G and P spots but due to it's small circumference, it doesn't give the most full feeling while orgasming. If you want something that will fit into a harness, this will do the trick. The large suction cup will hit fine in an o-ring. You wouldn't want to leave this sitting about for others to see if you care about privacy. This is definitely not a discreet-looking toy. It resembles a penis in all it's glory so try and hide it when the in-laws come over or you'll have some 'splainin' to do!

Care of this toy is rather high-maintenance. When it comes to washing it, it does best with warm water and antibacterial soap or your favourite toy cleaner. Make sure to wash it before and after every use because this toy is a germ harborer. It came with a powdery coating to prevent it from being too tacky and to aid in making it feel realistic. After you have washed the Player it's a good idea to dust it with cornstarch to protect the material and keep it from sticking to everything. Never dust with talc if you are a woman using this vaginally as using talc has been linked to cervical cancer. Pure skin is easily damageable so it's recommended to use only water based lubes with this dong. Storing is pretty simple. You can either store it in a ziplock bag or a satin bag, even a thin sock. This material is so porous that it will pick up dyes from your other toys so you'll want to store it separately from them.

The Pure Skin Player came in a hard plastic box that is completely see-through but not recyclable. It has poker chips and card suits decorating the front. It says Pure Skin Player in large letters as well "Dong with Suction Cup" in fairly large letters near the bottom. On the back of it there is a picture of the dong with a short description of it. It boasts an "Amazing Life-Like Feel", "Superior Suction Cup Base" and it explains about the composition of it and how it's made. It also gives the sizing info. On the side of the package it tells you it's made of TPR and a little bit on how to care for it. I suppose a dong is pretty straight forward in how to use but I would have liked an instruction pamphlet with more details about the product, material and how to care for it on the inside of the box. I suppose you could store it in the box it came in but it's a rather large box and will take up space.

My initial reaction to this was of the bad smell coming from it when I opened the package. I was certainly not sticking that dong inside me with it smelling so offensively. I waiting a few days and after a few washes it had stopped smelling so bad so I gave it a whirl. I'm more into larger sized dildos so this one wasn't as satisfying for me as I had hoped. It's very average in size and shape. I found that as I was thrusting it in and out, I was able to bend it so that the shaft at the end was rubbing against my clit. This felt pretty good and in doing so I was hitting my G-spot. I ended up having an internal orgasm from doing this but I was very disappointed that I didn't feel really full when my vaginal walls contracted against it. Not only that but the veins did nothing for me as far as extra stimulation goes. I was able to grip the suction cup really well as long as there wasn't any lube on my hand or that part of the Pure Skin Player. After I had used it that way I decided to test out the suction cup itself. I found that it did stick very well to the bathroom tiles and I could really ride it hard but that it was awkward to get in at first. It's not the most erect dong so I had to prop it up and wiggle my way onto it. It didn't stick well to my furniture, the wall or to the linoleum floor. I am personally not a fan of high-maintenance toys so having to dust it in cornstarch after washing it thoroughly is a pain in the arse for me. My husband did enjoy watching me use the toy. He said that the contrast in colour was really nice to see sliding in and out of my vagina. I really don't think I'll be buying anything made of pure skin in the future as the smell and care of it, and porous nature makes this not overly ideal for me. Not to mention how sticky it gets! It picks up everything from dust to lint to pet hairs. I made the mistake of dropping it and thought maybe it might make a good duster instead.
