Large and heavily veined, deserving of its name.

Thick and semi-realistic in shape, with a smooth head and heavily veined, textured shaft. Thats it, I have to update my top five list of Tantus toys again!

extremely useful review
Tantus is definitely at the top of my list of favourite sex toy brands and lately I have found myself keenly adding many new Tantus toys to my collection. While organising my toy collection recently I discovered that Tantus is actually the brand that I own most of, and with the quality of silicone used in their toys it’s understandable that I plan on regularly investing in more. I was delighted to add the well named Goliath vibrator to my growing Tantus collection. The Goliath I was sent to test was the beautiful pearlescent pink option but it is also made in colour options of black or purple.

Packaging:

The packaging of the Goliath is Tantus’ usual style of packaging, a clear plastic box which is free of any sexual imagery. On the back and sides of the packaging you will find plenty of information about the silicone used in Tantus toys. The last two Tantus toys I bought came in larger boxes than Tantus’ usual but despite Goliaths generous size, he arrived in the regular size of Tantus packaging, fitting nicely with no excess packaging.

First Impression:

Seeing the Goliath in person for the first time, I was impressed by the appearance of its shiny pearlescent finish (which gives off a beautiful sheen) and its generously thick head. Despite it being called the Goliath I had thought when judging by product page photos that it looked smaller than the name suggested, In person I wasn’t disappointed! The first Tantus toy that the Goliath reminded me of is the Vamp dildo. Placing both the Vamp and the Goliath side by side for a size comparison I could see that the Goliath definitely has the Vamp beaten when it comes to girth. Both the head and entire length of the shaft are that bit girthier than the Vamp, impressive when you consider that the Vamp isn’t exactly modest in size either. The shape of the head is semi realistic and the length of the shaft features quite heavy veins. To the touch I was surprised to find that not only does the head of the Goliath have a bit of squeeze to it but the veins which may otherwise be uncomfortable are actually much softer than you would expect.

Measurements:

Total Length: 8 Inches

Insertable Length: 7 Inches

Circumference of Head: 6 Inches

Circumference of Shaft: 5 to 5 ½ Inches

Length of Bullet: 3 Inches

The base of the Goliath is thick and sturdy, though after looking at the photos on few sites product pages for the Goliath I can see that there is an older model of Goliath and a newer one. Mine has a thick base and an updated bullet while the older model has a thinner base and the old style of Tantus bullet. Having never been a fan of the old Tantus bullet I’m happy to see a newer model of it and the thick base looks like a definite improvement if you want to use the Goliath for strap-on play.

In Use:

Bullet/Vibrations:

Trying out the bullet first, I was delighted with the new version. The old bullet would often be my only complaint when it comes to Tantus vibrators as I found the single speed bullet to be cheap and more often than not they broke very easily. The new bullet has a different shape, it has a pointed end which when used on its own is better than the old model for pressing in against the clit and achieving more direct clitoral stimulation. The simple push button switches the single speed bullet both on and off and on the side of the bullet is the brand name Tantus. It is powered by one 1.5v N type battery which is included. The older model of bullet is instead powered by three watch batteries. While there is only one speed, I certainly find it strong enough to use by itself to get me off clitorally. When used inserted into the dildo it vibrates enough at the base of the toy but the vibrations don’t really carry all the way up to the head of the Goliath. In terms of noise level, the bullet is relatively quiet when used within the dildo but that bit louder when used by itself.
Experience
Inserted:

With its generous girth, I usually find a warm up toy is needed first. Once properly warmed up it still helps to add some water based lube to the Goliaths large head and heavily veined shaft. Inserting the round and smooth but thick head of the Goliath is thrilling and unlike alot of Tantus toys I’ve tried the shaft of the dildo doesn’t taper quite as much, meaning that there is no lessening in the feeling of stretch as you slowly insert its full length. Once past it’s very smooth head, the texture of the Goliath changes to a far more textured and incredibly stimulating shaft of small ridges that are its veins. Though to squeeze in your hand they feel relatively soft, on initial insertion they do have a heavily textured feel which can take a few thrusts to adjust to. If like me you aren’t into internal vibrations when thrusting, the hole in the base of the toy which is intended for placing the bullet in can actually come in very handy for holding onto if thrusting rigorously.

Bases on Tantus toys can vary hugely and I find they can either be a useful shape for holding onto or can be a nuisance to try and hold, when it comes to the base of the newer Goliath it is definitely helpful and easy to hold onto. When combined with slipping a finger or two into the bullet hole for extra grip, you really can go wild with the Goliath. The base is well suited for strap-on use too and Goliath lives up to its impressive and almost intimidating name when placed in a harness.

Care:

Made of high-quality Silicone, the Tantus Goliath is both Latex and Phthalates free, silicone is completely non-porous meaning that it can be fully disinfected by boiling it for 3 minutes or by throwing it into the top rack of your dishwasher or it can be simply washed after use with warm soapy water or specialized toy cleaner, it is generally believed that silicone based lubricants should not be used with silicone toys. I would recommend using a generous amount of water-based lubricant with the Goliath.
