The Mighty Maxi Brute, though not my favorite toy, still plays a unique important role in my sex life. The toy is great for almost anyone looking to add earth shaking vibrations to their sexual practice. The design of the toy has some extreme reach. It's ideal for deep stimulation during vaginal use, but it also works well when used at a shallower depth or rubbed slowly against the labia or clitoris. Stick it deep and pair with a basic pocket rocket, and he'll take your breath away! Although it lacks the safety flared base of some anal toys, that doesn't eliminate the option. It could potentially be used in the back door just with some extra caution to make sure it doesn't slip away. Plus, it's waterproof! So the usage potential doubles! The controls on the Mighty Maxi Brute are simple enough to use alone with one hand. Lie back and be good to yourself. But don't expect to be sneaky or sly as the motor roars even when inserted. The Mighty Maxi Brute is also loads of fun in the hands of a partner as long as you make a point to change condoms if and when you choose to switch roles.

The Mighty Maxi Brute is composed of Sil-a-Gel wrapped around a sturdy plastic core. It has a little bit of squish but hardly any flex. The toy only really bent at the tip where the Sil-a-Gel was a half inch thick to form the head.

The material make up prompted some major concerns when removing the toy from the packaging for the first time. It came out of the plastic bubble pack both looking and feeling really greasy. There was a weird thick slipperiness to the surface, almost like a lubricated condom. I took a second look at the packaging to see if there was a break or hole that could have caused something to leak inside during transit, but found no culprit. What I did discover was a long slimy streak on the cardboard, in the exact shape and place where the toy rested in the packaging. It looked like the cholesterol spots at the bottom of a McDonald's fry carton. Gross! On top of that, some of the ink used in the cardboard back to the packaging had leached into the Sil-a-Gel material, leaving pink spots on one side of my clear vibrator that would not wash away.

Also, it smelled really funky. I can't really put my finger on it, but it smells somewhere between bleach and grandma's potpourri. After a few washes and uses, the smell remains strong. I accidentally left it under the pillow on my bed while at work. The next day, after tidying up, my partner said "Youre sheets smell like dildos." . . . Awesome.

My overall impression of the size and shape was good. The advertised nine and one-quarter inch length can be intimidating, but the Mighty Maxi Brute is only one and one-quarter inch wide, so it can potentially be used by a broader demographic. The slender design would work well for less experienced users looking to experiment or those with a smaller build. The length was more than adequate to reach the g-spot and even apply pressure to my cervix without having to accommodate a massive diameter that usually accompanies longer toys.

The toy is lightly textured with realistic veins and ridges extending the entire length. I got the impression they were intended for appearance as much as they were stimulation. The veins provided me with some added stimulation but not a significant amount when I used it on the higher vibration settings. The head is a small, squishy accumulation of Sil-a-Gel and not too pronounced in comparison to the length. I would estimate it as maybe less than an inch long, which I found discouraging. But there is a gradual swelling which transitions smoothly into a bulbous area just beneath it. This allows the user to choose between a more shallow and full feeling, or a deeper isolated direct sensation.

The toy is advertised as “water proof,” and I was able to use it successfully in the shower. There is no o-ring to prevent water from seeping in. The Sil-a-Gel sleeve just extends over the seam in the battery compartment. Consequently, I have not tried it in the tub yet, and can't attest to whether or not it actually functions when completely submerged.

The controls and functions for the Mighty Maxi Brute are splendidly simple. The whole toy operates on three AA batteries. All I had to do was unscrew the threaded base and drop them in with the positive side down. It has a basic dial operation. Tighten the knob, the toy turns on and gradually increases vibration intensity as the knob is turned.

Wow it is powerful! The Mighty Maxi Brute is by far the strongest and loudest toy I have ever owned! What originally attracted me to this product was the 5 vroom rating, which I can confirm is well deserved, but possibly understated. I don't know that the 5 bee rating is accurate. I feel like it should be somewhere around 7.5! At full throttle it reminds me of my orbital power sander. I tried to kick it into high gear to finish the job and couldn't orgasm because the sheer volume gave me a migraine! My boyfriend turned it on with the door closed, and it sounded like someone was making frozen daiquiris in the other room. If you live with roommates or you're looking for something discreet, this toy should be the last thing on your list. I can't imagine anyone ever being secretive with this toy.

One of the major pitfalls to the Mighty Maxi Brute is the Sil-a-Gel composition. I found it to be a great hair and fuzz magnet. On top of that, because it is a silicone composite, it cannot be completely sterilized. Ideally the toy should be cleaned with warm soapy water and left to air dry. This means no sharing at all without a condom. On the plus side, because it is waterproof, washing the Might Maxi Brute is not hard and requires no extra difficult steps to ensure the motor stays dry. I just double checked the tightness of the battery cap and washed it in the bathroom sink with running water and a hypo-allergenic antibacterial soap.

The packaging consists of a simple bubble pack with a colorful cardboard insert. The back of the package gives a brief sentence describing the product in English, French, German, Dutch, and Spanish.
