My G-Spot Jewel

I would recommend the Amethyst to anyone interested in g-spot stimulation or glass toys, from beginners to advanced users. The small size and smooth surface make it very easy to insert, and the deep curve will reach almost any g-spot. It's made of an extremely safe material, and it's affordable for those on a tight budget.

Use

The Amethyst was my first glass dildo, and the second dildo I ever used. The size makes it non-intimidating to beginners, and advanced users can appreciate the material and design. The Amethyst can be used vaginally or anally, and both ends can be inserted. I've explored all the options, and found that g-spot stimulation with the curved end is where the Amethyst really shines. In fact, this is my favourite g-spot toy.

Material / Texture

The Amethyst is made from Pyrex glass, which is very strong and shatter-resistant. It is non-porous, so it won't hold onto bacteria, and has no taste or smell. The hard glass is able to provide firm pressure. The smooth, shiny surface helps the Amethyst to slip inside easily with little to no added lube. Glass retains temperatures well, so you can experiment with heating it in warm water or cooling it in cold water.

Design / Shape / Size

The Amethyst has two ends, separated in the middle with a flared ring. One side has a deep curve and a bulbous head. It is 4 inches long with a 3/4 inch wide shaft, and 1 inch wide head. The other side is 3 inches long and features 3 bulges that are 1 1/4 inches wide. Both ends have tapered tips for easier insertion. The measurements may vary slightly, because each dildo is handmade.

Performance

Before I ordered the Amethyst, I thought the curved end would be perfect for g-spot stimulation, and the bulged end would be perfect for anal. I turned out to be half right. The curved side is amazing for g-spot use, but for me the bulged end is best left as a handle.

I love fingers (my own, or a partners) for g-spot stimulation. They have the ability to curve into the perfect position and provide firm pressure exactly where, and how, I want it. The Amethyst is the only g-spot toy I've found that actually works better for me than fingers do, and it also eliminates the problems of stretching to reach or fingers getting tired. The hard glass makes it easy to get lots of pressure. The deep curve should be able to access even the most tucked away g-spot, and it easily reaches mine. The size of the head is perfect; it's small enough to zero in on the right area, but it's not overly pinpointed and seems to be able to cover my entire g-spot. It works well with shallow thrusting, or by simply pushing down on the handle to leverage the head up into my g-spot.

When I tried the curved end anally, I found it to be a slightly unpleasant experience. The shaft seemed to be too curved to fit my body and dug into me uncomfortably. For someone with a prostate, the firm pressure could provide lots of stimulation and be very pleasurable. Personally, I'll be sticking with straight toys for anal use from now on.

The bulged end didn't perform well for me either vaginally or anally. At least it makes for an easy to grip handle while using the other side. I already knew I wasn't a fan of texture for vaginal use, and as I expected it irritated my vaginal opening. I thought I would love using the bulged end for anal, since I had really enjoyed other toys with a similar texture. Unfortunately, I found that the shaft was too short to allow for easy thrusting, and that there wasn't enough separation between the bulges to allow my anus to close between them and give me the "popping" feeling I was looking for.

Care and Maintenance

The Amethyst is non-porous, and it can be fully sterilized. This is important if you would like to use it both vaginally and anally, or share it with partners. Just boil it for 3 minutes, run it through your dishwasher with no soap, or wipe it down with a 10% bleach and water solution. If you don't need to sterilize it, wash it with antibacterial soap or toy cleaner. Glass is compatible with all types of lube. I keep my Amethyst stored in a padded pouch for protection.

Packaging

My Amethyst came to me in a black toy pouch. Based on the picture on the product page, and other reviews, the packaging has changed since I purchased mine last summer. It now comes in an unpadded velvet bag and is shipped wrapped in bubble wrap.
Follow-up commentary
The Amethyst is still my favourite dildo as far as g-spot stimulation goes. The only downside with it is that I'm kinda of lazy when it comes to masturbation, and a lot of the time I don't want to have to thrust with a dildo. Unlike some of my other toys, the Amethyst can't stay in place by itself, and it really wouldn't add much stimulation if it wasn't being thrusted.

I have used it with a partner, which was awesome since I got to just lay back and enjoy. Unfortunately, my partner wasn't a big fan of using a dildo on me, and said he would rather just use his fingers so he can feel what he's doing.
