Not for the faint of heart.

The Tantus Splash is a lovely, silicone addition to the already impressive amount of toys put out by this US brand. While this, and its smaller counterpart the Splish, don't vibrate, that certainly doesn't hold them back. While it was way too large for me personally, size queens (and kings) will be thrilled with the great material and design.

Use

The Splash is a large, silicone dildo put out by Tantus. It, and its smaller companion the Splish, are both the first dual-toned toys to be put out by this famous brand. Being dildos, these toys do not contain a motor or a place to insert a bullet.

The main use of this girthy toy is vaginal insertion. There is a fair amount of texture, and the long shaft makes this a good toy for thrusting. It also has a large, curved tip that is great for g-spot stimulation. It's not going to put as much g-spot pressure as a firm toy, but the texture adds quite a bit of intensity.

If the girth is fine, this toy is also entirely anal safe. The thick, flared base will keep it from becoming 'lost' inside of you, and it also makes it easy to hold on to. The thick, rounded tip that makes it good for g-spotting will make it similarly nice for prostate stimulation.

This toy isn't the most thrilling to use externally. Because it doesn't vibrate it's not much more useful than your fingers clitorally. It's also not the best design to use as an all-over massage tool.

If you're looking for a toy to use with a partner, this is best if you're both comfortable with large toys. It's a bit phallic, and if a man in your relationship has insecurity issues, this might make him uncomfortable. It is harness compatible, so if you are looking for a large attachment for your harness, this might be a good bet.

If you're looking to get your first toy, this would not be an ideal choice. Unless you're used to being with VERY large guys, want something that will make you feel 'stretched,' and don't want anything that vibrates, this is going to be for users who have a bit more experience.

This toy also is great for those living in close quarters with others... as long as you don't mind the amount of space it takes up. While you can't toss it into a purse, the lack of a motor means that no one's going to hear the toy through the walls or over the shower.

Material / Texture

The Splash is made entirely of plushy Tantus silicone. Silicone is rated 10 out of 10 on the Eden safety Scale because it's nonporous and body safe. This means that it doesn't have any gross chemicals that can seep into your body, and also that bacteria can't get under the surface and spread infection.

If you've never used a Tantus toy before, their silicone is very unique. It's soft in small amounts, but the thicker parts of their toys get firmer the more silicone there is. Because of this, the Splash is pretty firm through most of the body, and only soft where it connects to the base.

It is a bit of a lint magnet, but it's not exactly tacky. The raised areas are fairly slick, but the base and the non-raised areas have a bit more drag to them. It would be best to try to keep this out of a lint and hair free environment for ease of care.

When it comes to inserting this toy lube is a must, even if you produce a lot of natural lubricant. This is because of the girth, but is also because of the drag of the material and the texture. You should avoid using silicone lube with this toy, so water based will be the best.

You can bend the tip to the base both forward and backwards, but it takes quite a bit of force. This flexibility is good if you like a fair amount of pressure internally but worry about bruising yourself (or your partner bruising you) with vigorous thrusting. If you prefer glass, metal, or wood toys, this might not have enough force for you.

The texture on this toy is much more prominent than on its smaller counterpart, the Splish. This is almost entirely because the ridges are more raised, and the thicker material is more firm. It's not going to cause anyone pain, but it's certainly more intense than even veined 'realistic' toys.

Overall, silicone is one of the best materials out there, especially if you're looking for a softer toy, and Tantus makes spectacular silicone toys. Between being body safe and easy to care for, silicone is one of the most popular materials in the sex toy world.

Design / Shape / Size

Now the Splash is a wonderful toy, but one thing that the consumer needs to be careful of is not to let their eyes be larger than where they want to put it. The Splash is a very large toy, and that can be both a pro and a con depending on your personal anatomy.

The Tantus Splash is 6.75 inches long in total, but half an inch of that is the sturdy, purple base. With just under 6.5 inches of this toy being insertable, it's considerably longer than the average penis. This is great for people who really like some length to their toys, and it makes it easier to use in a harness than some shorter dildos.

The Splash also sports an impressive girth of 5.25 inches around the widest point. This is Much thicker than the average penis girth, and is thicker than most toys on the market right now. The thickest point is near the tip, so the shaft is a bit thinner. None the less, this is not for the faint of heart.

The design of the Splash, and its smaller version the Splish, is supposed to look like waves. They are both curved and organic in shape, and they have small 'drips' of water running down the sides. They look extremely artistic, and almost pretty enough to leave on a shelf.

Despite the pleasant appearance, the Splash is not discreet. If left out it's not obviously a sex toy, but you're not going to be able to pass it off as anything else. Because of that, this should be put away before you have guests. Because of the large size, this really can't be labeled a travel friendly toy.

Overall, the Splash is a neat toy that has a lot going for it. It's very artistic and whimsical, but it's certainly only for those who are interested in large, soft, textured toys.

Performance

Even though the Splash doesn't have a motor, this doesn't keep it down. If vibrations aren't a must, dildos tend to be more versatile, and some even find them nicer than vibrators because the functions can become a distraction with motorized toys.

The thick tip and curve make this great for g-spot stimulation. If you find glass or plastic toys too intense, the silicone that this toy is made of may be perfect. It's ideal to thrust with as well, because of the easy to hold base and fairly smooth material.

You can also use this toy in a harness because of the base. Whether you're using it with a man or a woman, this is best for partners who have worked their way up to something of this size. Whether you're the giver or receiver, make sure you warm your body up sufficiently before use.

You can also use this both anally and vaginally, which makes it great for solo use no matter what gender you identify as. What makes this toy good for g-spot stimulation should similarly make it good for p-spot stimulation.

While it doesn't exactly have a suction cup feature, the lip around the base of the toy makes it fairly good at sticking to flat surfaces. While you can yank it off, I think that most people will be able to use this like a toy with a proper suction cup attachment.

Overall, this toy is super discreet and easy to use if you're used to the girth. While it's not really at all for beginners, advanced users who want to use it solo or with a partner will find it a fun challenge. Being harness compatible and having fairly good suction cup abilities, it's easy to find a way to use this toy.

Care and Maintenance

The Splash is very easy to care for, especially if you don't just toss it under your dusty bed or into a closet full of cats. It is a bit of a lint magnet, but if you let it air dry and keep it in a lint-free environment you can get away with only washing it after every use.

You can wash this toy with antibacterial toy cleaner, soap and water, or a toy wipe. If you want to disinfect this toy (which needs to be done every time you plan on switching orifices or partners to kill bacteria and prevent the spread of infection) you have two options. If you're living with others, you can wipe this toy down with a 10% bleach solution. If you really want to get it clean and you don't live with people who mind, you can also boil this toy for 10 minutes.

It's best not to store it in contact with other silicone toys (especially those from less reputable companies) because the two materials could react and leave you sad. Similarly, this toy shouldn't be used with silicone lubes unless you do a small spot test on the base and find it's okay.

Packaging

Tantus tends to have rather minimal packaging, but I like to think that it's because they pass on the savings to the toys. The box that the Splash comes in is fairly large and made of thin plastic with red lettering on it. It's a bit larger than the toy itself, so it's not the best for storage.

The front just states that it's silicone, and you can see the toy through the transparent plastic. It looks nice, but it's not the most 'luxury' packaging I've seen, especially compared to some of the fancy vibrator companies out there.

On the back is some basic information. It doesn't come with any additional instructions, but because it's a silicone dildo it's pretty straight forward.

You could easily wrap this up and give it as a gift, but it's very straight forward about what's in the box. Try not to crush it as well, if you're planning on gifting it, because the packaging is fairly 'smush'able.

Experience

Now when I was offered the Tantus Splash, I knew it was going to be a bit too big for me, but I wanted to do a video for both the Splish and the Splash showing them next to each other. I know that for some people, they were having a hard time figuring out which to get, so I thought it would be very useful.

Personally? It was even larger than I thought! I am a total girth wimp, often having issues with toys just over 4 inches around, but I think that most people will have a bit of trouble with the size of this. Now this doesn't mean it's a bad toy at all, it just means that you REALLY should think about it before you take the dive and buy it.

In reality, this toy gets 4.25 stars from me. I took off .25 of a star because it's a lint magnet and hard to store, .25 of a star because it's really large and hard to find a place to hide, and .25 of a star because most people will find it painfully large. I'm rounding this down to 4 stars, which is still a very good rating. In all, I recommend this toy to all size queens/kings.
