Oh, Cush, I have a Crush!

For people willing to try something new, or move up in the world, as I call it, definitely give the 02 Cush a try. The 02 Silicone that Tantus uses is AMAZING. Nice and soft, with the perfect amount of give. However, he boasts nearly a 2" diameter, so beginners beware! This is definitely a toy geared more towards experience and Size Queens!

Pros
Super-safe silicone, just the right amount of give, beautiful colors, easy care, and that nice drag.
Cons
The ridge is a love-hate relationship, collects just about everything along the way.

Use

First, let me start by saying that the 02 Cush from Tantus is quite a thick dildo. Even though the silicone itself is super soft, it is quite a bit for a person to take in. That being said, this dildo is perfect for just about any walk of using it. It's harness compatible, and has a base, and is good for vaginal & anal use. No worries about it disappearing into the abyss here!

With all of that out of the way, with the Cush boasting almost a 2" diameter, this toy is certainly not for beginners. The silicone may be soft, but it still has a solid core, and still took a lot of work. Be prepared to use some hefty lube when you break out this bad boy! Even then, a lot of users won't be comfortable with this guy.

Personally, I've still had to work this in slowly, even though I've had experience with other large toys, such as the Adam, who has roughly the same diameter and length. For users like myself, I had to be careful when thrusting, too, since I found the way I would angle would sometimes hit my cervix the wrong way. Be careful of that so you don't bruise it! We all want to be able to walk after we're done getting off, right?

I don't think I can ever stress this enough, but do NOT use a silicone lube with this toy! Really, I'd ONLY recommend water-based. Thus, I don't really think is is much of a beginner's toy, either, simply since it has quite a bit of girth and length.

Material / Texture

Cush is made of Tantus's super soft 02 silicone. It has a nice, soft exterior, but is firm in the center. Which means that it has some give, but not a whole lot. The nice thing about the softness of the 02 silicone is that it has just the right amount of drag. Even when it's all lubed up, it still keeps that nice quality.

I haven't actually been able to detect an actual smell to Cush. Most silicone I've encountered DOES have a slight smell to it, and usually isn't too distracting, but not this guy! I didn't notice much of a taste, either, except that it does retain a bit of the taste when you use a flavored lube. Not really a bad quality, in my opinion.

Touching back on the soft exterior. It does, in a way, feel a little bit plush, but you can definitely tell that it has a firm core. To me, that makes the world of difference in my toys. While it is meant to be realistic, however, I don't find that it does that for me. It feels more like an alien penis!

As I can never stress enough, please, for the sake of the life of your Cush, do not use silicone lubricants!

Design / Shape / Size

As I stated earlier, the 02 Cush is meant to have a realistic look and feel to it. Well, it doesn't get that from me. I think it looks more like an alien penis, with the random ridge a couple inches below the head. Don't get me wrong, I definitely like that ridge, it just does't make the toy seem realistic to me. On that note, I noticed the head does seem a bit over-pronounced, which seems to be a theme in Tantus toys. I have the Cush and the Vamp as of present, and both have that same quality. From what I've read on their other toys, it's a theme.

With that oversized head, and the ridge on the toy, there is really no way I could say this is for beginners. It was intimidating to me, and I absolutely love obscure looking toys. Now, I have this in the purple color. Let me say, the stock photo is deceiving! It shows the color to be bright and intense, when really, it's more of a dark purple. That purple has a bit of a swirled design, so it's almost frosted. I definitely prefer the look of it in hand, as opposed to the photo.

As I stated in the very beginning, Cush boasts almost a 2" diameter. That, again, means I wouldn't suggest it for beginners. This is most definitely a toy for the experienced, mostly what are referred to as "Size Queens." I may have a bit of experience, but even I had some issues with the large diameter of this guy. Once you get it in, though, ohhh, baby.

The ridge that they've put in the toy, as earlier stated, is about two inches below the head. I've discovered that that ridge? Almost always adds the bonus of G-Spot stimulation. I recommend gentle thrusting, though, if you aren't used to larger sizes. It could easily make you a bit sore. I suppose that overall, I do love this guy, in an awkward friends with benefits sort of way.

Before I forget, I wouldn't bring this guy on a plane with you. It would definitely raise some eyebrows.

Performance

The biggest love-hate I have going on with Cush is that ridge. I do like it, but at the same time, I get tired of it while using this toy. The second best thing is probably the base. It's nice and flat, so you can use it just about anywhere, and with a harness. I don't own a harness (yet) however, so I'm not entirely sure how it fits into one, though I would suggest the larger ring, simply because the diameter is large.

The softness of the silicone really is what makes this toy worth the money. Tantus has the right idea with the 02 series, since it's nice and soft, with just the right amount of give. The firm core means that it isn't going to just collapse upon itself, either, for lack of a better terminology. What I mean by that, is that is has the perfect amount of squishy to it. It'll squeeze so much, and that's it. I definitely love that.

The ridge love-hate relationship aside, Cush has become one of the only toys I've been bringing out of the box. So, for those of us that are ready to take on a larger size, and all of the Size Queens, give Cush a go. It's the perfect medium in-between being a texture whore, and a sleek, smooth dildo.

Care and Maintenance

Okay, this is where I get preachy. Silicone is fairly easy to care for. You can clean it with a bleach solution, boil it, run it through the dishwasher, or just wipe it down with a toy cleaner. For that, anybody can pretty much do this. However, if you run it through the dishwasher, I suggest skipping the dish soap. Just a suggestion.

The worst thing about silicone is that it's a lot like it's copycat, sil-a-gel, in that it can collect dust, lint, hair, and just about everything else, like none other. The great part about silicone? It's easy to clean all of that junk off. I've taken a wet paper towel, or just rinsed it, and viola! Good as new.

Where to store it, then? Oh, I've stored it in the same box as all of my other toys. Preferably with items like glass and plastic, since neither of those contain the harmful chemicals that are found in sil-a-gel and jelly types of toys, and those toys won't try to become part of your silicone. I tend to store everything in a plastic baggie, though, since I'm extra paranoid. I suggest trying that if you're nervous about your toys all being together.

Here's the super-preachy part. Do NOT use a silicone lube with this toy. I'll never stress this enough. Silicone toys are expensive. Your silicone lube is pretty pricey, too. Don't waste your money by putting these two items together. Why, do you ask? Silicone lube will destroy most silicone toys. I do not have personal experience (luckily!) Sadly, though, I have seen the disastrous outcome. Play it safe, water-based lubes ONLY! It saves you money and the devastation of losing your new best friend.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

So, there's absolutely nothing discreet about this toy. The box it came in directly states the name, and that it's a dildo. I don't have the box now, it seemed like a lot of packaging to keep for this guy. However, if you decide to keep the box, it has two layers of plastic that holds it in place.

There really wasn't any instructions on the box, but it does tell you that it's made of silicone. For me, that's enough to know how to take care and use the toy. Since the box is rectangular, though, just throw some gift-wrap on, and there you go! No need to worry about extra packaging.

The best thing about the box is that it's plastic, so you can recycle it. At least you can feel better knowing it won't end up in a landfill somewhere!
    • Not discreet
    • Recyclable

Personal comments

I probably will never be able to stress enough the incompatibility with silicone lubricant. This toy has a pretty hefty pricetag, so please don't throw away your money!

The love-hate relationship I have with the ridge is usually more on the love side, keeping this toy as my go-to for just about every time I feel the need to do it myself. And don't let the stock photos fool you!

The colors on this toy are darker, and have a swirled, frosted look. They're beautiful! This guy has been worth every penny, and I plan on adding the other 02 in the line to my collection, as well!
Follow-up commentary
I'm not actually sure if this is possible, but I've fallen COMPLETELY IN LOVE with this toy. It comes out almost every single time that we bring toys into the bedroom. And, of course, for those times alone. The material is exactly the same as when I bought it, and I've even learned to lust a little after that pronounced head that Tantus is so fond of. I would (and probably will) buy it in other colors, just for the variety!
