Dai-Do #5 - steel dildo discontinued by Big Teaze Toys - review by Breas

Dai-Do #5 by Big Teaze Toys is available in the colours red or black. I had received the black coloured dildo. The toy arrived in a rectangular cardboard package. The toy of the packaging states the company name, product name, a few features of the toy, and has a photo of the toy. The back of the box has another image of the toy; more features of the product, and states the size and weight of Dai-Do #5. The packaging is not discreet and it can be recycled.



Inside of the cardboard box, the toy sits within a raised plastic insert that is surrounded by more cardboard. The toy itself is wrapped in plastic. The toy comes with a black, drawstring storage pouch. There is no text or images on the pouch so it’s quite discreet. The included pouch has a lining in it but it is not padded. You could use the box for storage but I prefer using the storage pouch that was included since it takes up less room.

The toy is made of aluminum alloy, silicone, and stainless steel. The best way I can describe the shape of the toy (other than including an image) is to say that there are 4 circular balls, one on top of the other. As you move down the toy, the ball shapes get larger. So the very top of the toy has the smallest “ball” or “bulge”, while the base is the largest. The bulges are the only texture to the toy. The bulges themselves are smooth and seamless.



The largest ball, which is the base, has a strip of silicone that runs all the way around the base. The silicone strip is just less than 1 inch. The silicone strip is trimmed with a very thin silver colour. The silver coloured trim is the stainless steel. There is also a raised rectangular piece on the silicone strip that states the company name. This rectangular piece measures 5/8 of an inch by 1 inch. The rest of the toy is aluminum alloy.



The toy is a bit shorter than I had expected. Its total length is approximately 5 ¾ inches. When using the bottom ball as a base, the insertable length is approximately 3 5/8 inches. You could insert a bit of the base if you wanted more length but the circumference of the base is rather large. The top ball to the dildo has a circumference of 3 ¾ inches. The second ball has a circumference of 4 ¼ inches. The third ball’s circumference is 5 1/8 inches. The base circumference is 7 3/8 inches.

Since the toy has such a large base, it could be used anally. It can also be used vaginally. It can be used for either solo or couples play. Since the toy has no mechanical parts to it, it’s perfect to bring into the bath or shower. I don’t practice anal play but I would assume that this shouldn’t be used as a hands-free toy- just to be safe. The toy has a unisex appearance, which is nice since not all men want bright, flashy coloured toys to use anally.

The silicone strip on the base is there for gripping since the aluminum gets very slippery when lubricated. Aluminum is compatible with all lubricants: oil, water, or silicone based. You may want to stick with a water-based lubricant though since the strip on the base is silicone. Silicone based lubricants should not come in contact with the silicone material.

The toy is excellent for temperature play. Place the toy in a bowl of cool or warm water before play. The aluminum holds the temperature nicely. I’m a really big fan of temperature play. I love the cooler sensations. I really love glass for temperature play but I’ve found that the aluminum holds the cooler sensation longer. It doesn’t heat up to body temperature as fast as glass does.

Cleaning the toy is really easy. You can use soap and water, toy wipes, or a toy cleaning spray. You can also sterilize the material by boiling it, placing it in the top rack of the dish washer, rubbing it down with rubbing alcohol, and rubbing it with a bleach/water solution. The included pouch is perfect for storing the toy in when it is not in use. The bag is 5 ¼ inches wide and approximately 9 inches long.

I really love Dai-Do #5! This is my second aluminum toy. My first was actually Dai-Do #6. I loved #6 when I had first received it but the short insertable length and extremely thin body had me reaching for other toys first. Dai-Do #5 has a fairly short length but it’s longer than #6. I also find the circumference of #5 to be much more enjoyable. The packaging states that the weight of the toy is 13oz. I didn’t find it to be too heavy or even uncomfortable when I was using it.

The bulges to the toy can be felt when inserted. As I mentioned previously, the bulges are smooth. The bulges would be appropriate for both beginners and advanced toy users. The silicone grip makes it really easy to control the toy when you are using it. If you are interested in temperature play or already know you enjoy it, I’d highly recommend Dai-Do #5. I’m very happy with the toy and do not have any complaints!
