Pretty, but not much else

I bought the Blossom G on the basis of its looks and found out that was all it brought to my bedroom.

Use

If you're looking for your first glass toy I'd recommend the Blossom G because of the reasonable price and the okay quality. I'd also recommend it to someone who likes a lot of texture in a short space, or someone who only needs a faint upward curve for g-spot stimulation.

It's also a pretty toy, though the one I received didn't really live up to the beauty of the pictures. If you're into flowers or are looking for something with aesthetic appeal for a gift, this might be the one for you.

I wouldn't recommend it to someone who isn't okay with variation. SSA glass, from the two toys that I've gotten from them, seems to have a problem with regularity in their toys. There's less variation with the Blossom G than with the Midnight Twist that I got in the same order, but a series of small changes can make for a very different experience when inserted.

Material / Texture

The Blossom G is made of glass, and it has all of the benefits that come with it. It's almost frictionless, which leads to a very different inserted experience. I notice the head and texturing on glass toys more, and rarely feel much from the shaft. It can be heated or cooled, though I found it retained cold much better than heat.

The Blossom G has a series of five red dots that start just underneath the head and progress about halfway down the shaft. These are actually raised a bit too much for me - I generally find them unpleasant on insertion, and find that I come away from using the dildo feeling a little sore. It'd be great for someone who likes a bumpy ride concentrated all in one spot, but it wasn't really for me.

There were a few flaws in the toy I received: the bands are distended in the middle of the toy, the flowers have bubbles clinging to them, and there's what looks like a chip of glass floating in the handle.

Design / Shape / Size

Design is where the Blossom G fails.

I'm yet to meet a dildo that I really love. I'm starting to think that I just need a serious curve for g-spot stimulation to take off, and the Blossom G didn't offer that for me. With a mostly-straight shaft and a bend that starts a few centimeters below the bulbous head, I could see this working for someone with a shallow g-spot, or someone who doesn't want a lot of pressure when thrusting. For me, though, I couldn't even get a tickle of feeling out of it.

It's strange to say it about a toy of this length, but more than anything it felt stubby to me. The head is thick and bulbous, and there's no real graduation along the shaft. For me, having it be as thick as it does makes the already subtle curve even less pronounced.

It doesn't help that the quality of the glasswork isn't there. The head and handle are set at oblique angles away from the shaft, and while it's not that much variation to look at, when you're trying to g-spot with a crooked toy it just doesn't work.
    • Whimsical / artistic

Performance

The Blossom G is marketed as a g-spot toy, but for me, it failed to live up to that claim. The lack of real curve to it made it impossible for me to get any real g-spot stimulation out of the toy. The curve to the head did give some pleasant vaginal stimulation in general on strokes, but I had to use a fair bit of force for the small flashes of pleasure. With glass being as unforgiving as it is, that means soreness later.

The bumps provide both too much and not enough texture. With the rest of the dildo being so smooth, having everything concentrated in such a small area makes it more of an annoyance than something I can really get into as part of the experience. As well, glass carries texture more than other toys. I wouldn't notice these bumps on silicone; on glass, they can actually be painful.

It is a pretty toy, even if it didn't live up to the product pictures. I probably would've gotten this to add to my toy box just to look at.

Care and Maintenance

There's a lot of information out there on how to care for glass, but to reiterate the basics: no temperature shock (freezing to boiling or vice-versa), no dropping it, store it in a padded bag and keep it away from other hard toys. You can use any type of lube with it, and you can safely boil it to sterilize.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The toy came loose in the box, wrapped in bubble-wrap, with a crimson velvet bag that offered no padding.

Sorry this one didn't hit your g-spot. Hopefully you'll get one eventually that really does. Good luck and thanks for the great review.

Thanks for the review. I actually really like my Blossom G, but I suppose I'm built a bit differently than you are. The slight curve of the head hit my G-spot right on. But SSA glass definitely has a problem with matching specification for their toys. Mine varies a bit from the picture as well.

This is disappointing, because it looks like there's so much potential. It IS pretty, though.
