Raptor XL - dildo discontinued by Tantus - review by froggiemoma

Raptor XL lives up to its big title. You can use it vaginally or anally because of its base. This toy is definitely not a beginner toy and you are going to want to warm up whichever orifice you decide to use it on and don't skimp on the lube. You can use this toy alone or with your partner. If you have an O-ring large enough it will go in a harness for harness play but it is pretty heavy.

It is made of Tantuses hypo-allergenic, latex free, non-porous, odor free, and phthalate free silicone. The silicone is firm but does have a some flex to it but if you like more flexible toys you may find this one a little stiff. It does have a little squish to it when you squeeze the shaft and head, more in the shaft. The head looks shiny and slick and the rest of it has a matte look to it. It has a lot of drag to it so you will want to make sure to use lots of lube to help insertion along. The bottom of the shaft has a raised line underneath that runs from the tip to the base like a real penis. There are some raised veins long the top of the shaft and a raised section under the head of the dildo simulation the frenulum for texture. There is a noticeable ridge at the bottom of the head. I could feel the ridge during insertion and play. For me it was a little uncomfortable.

This big boy is 9" in length, 5 1/2" insert able length, 9" in circumference, 1 3/4" in diameter, and weights 1.3 lbs. I would say this dildo would suit more advanced users. It is harness/O-ring compatible. The bottom of the shaft has a raised line underneath that runs from the tip to the base like a real penis. There are some raised veins long the top of the shaft. The underside of the head of the penis has a realistic looking frenulum. The tip is rounded to make insertion a little smoother. The head is large and thinker than the shaft of the dildo and there is a noticeable ridge at the bottom of the head. You can feel this ridge during insertion and play which I found uncomfortable. The balls stop a couple of inches away from the base leaving a gap that could have added to the length if the balls didn't stop you from going down on it any farther. The balls sit high, round and close to the shaft. They don't really give a realistic appearance. The head of the dildo looks too long and big in my opinion to be very realistic looking. I guess if you are looking at this as a dinosaur penis it could be considered realistic....if you know what a dinosaur penis looks like? Because it's so big I wouldn't tote this thing around with me.

I tried the Raptor XL in my bionic Aslan harness and had to work to slide the head and shaft through the 1 3/4" stretchy O-ring. The base and balls had to sit on the front of the crotch piece behind the O-ring and adjustments. There's no way to get even the base through the hole in the crotch piece because you can't fit the base through the front and you can't slide it through the back because the head and balls wouldn't fit through the hole. Once I got it in the harness it just felt heavy and even when tightened the harness was so weighed down it tried to pull away from my body. I held onto it and tried to use it this way with my harness but the thing is just too big and heavy. It worked best sitting the base on a flat surface, holding it at the base (the base doesn't suction to flat surfaces) and riding it because even holding it and thrusting wasn't comfortable because of its heft.

Since Raptor XL is silicone you should use water based lubes with it. Wash with soap and warm water, toy cleaner, or boil it. It came in a plastic zip baggie that you could use from storage if you wanted. I would recommend storing it in the baggie it came in or investing in another type of toy bag because it is a major lint magnet.
