Shimmery and Glittery with a Motor!

Overall, I like the look of the toy more than actually using it. I wish the vibrations lived up to the promise its look implies, but it had moderate jerky vibrations that weren't pleasing. However, with the 10 functions, I found a couple settings I liked. I enjoyed the varied texture of smooth, wrinkled, and veins. The big drawback for me was the jelly. It can't be sterilized, so it's a trade off.

Use

This is a California Exotics realistic dildo vibrator with a kiss of glitter. It is part of the Shane's World line. I think the entire line of toys looks very hip. I really like the visual effect this toy gives with its testicles, textured shaft, and smooth head. This would be a good all around toy for any toy connoisseur looking for a bit more girth. This boy is 1 5/8 inches in diameter so it is bigger than some, but not so big that it's overwhelming. The upgrade in size is what initially drew me to this vibrator.

Girls, this toy makes a great partner for vaginal penetration with its noticeable tactile benefits and its testicles, which are in the right place for stimulating one's perineum. If that's not your thing, just turn it ball side up and they make a good handle. Even if your hand is lube soaked, you wont lose your grip on it.

The design of the toy would make it great for anal play, because it has a nice flex in the middle of the shaft to make it comfortable to be inserted, and the vibrations are concentrated at the head and base of the phallus, where they count the most. Also, the difference between a smooth tip and rippled shaft feels good back there, but...it is made of jelly. Jelly is just okay for anal play as long as you don't share toys with others and you cover the toy when you use it. Just remember that jelly is a material that can't be sterilized. Make your own call on this function of the toy. My opinion is that it was just okay.

Boy Toy offers 10 vibrations for lots of variety witch will keep your clitoris, vagina, or bum saying 'What's next?'

Material / Texture

If you have a super sensitive nose, as I do, you'll notice that this toy smells like an inflatable pool toy. It isn't extremely strong. I actually had to put it close to my nose to notice, but it is there and I don't think it will wear off, having used and washed this toy numerous times. The smell has not diminished at all. It wasn't distracting during use, so it was a non-issue for me, just a little 'fyi' for future buyers. I think this is kind of common with jelly toys in general. Another smell issue with jelly products I have noticed is that they pick up odors easily, because they are porous. This toy is no different, after about a week of uses it is beginning to have a faint 'body' odor to it.

Despite the pool toy odor, the jelly material that the Boy Toy is made of offers a really nice skin feel, in my opinion. I like it as much as silicone, as far as texture goes. The tactile properties of the boy toy are its best feature. Each surface is totally 'feel-able' by any part of your body. It has a super smooth soft head. It's very realistic looking and feeling, with the back part of the penis looking like a real circumcised one, a shaft that is covered with wrinkled skin and raised veins, and balls that are textured to match. This jelly vibe isn't tacky and it doesn't have drag on the skin it feels polished at the head, but it isn't hard. The shaft can be bent to almost ninety degrees, but it is rigid, as it should be. The testicles as almost squishy but they don't give as much when squeezed, as I thought they would.

This is my disclaimer on jelly toys. They can't be steralized by any means and it is a surface that can easily house bacteria, so don't share them with others or borrow one. Invest in toy covers (or condoms), if you want to prolong the life of your jelly and get anti-bacterial soap to wash it up with.

Design / Shape / Size

This realistic vibe is designed with a big, visible motor, but I think the vibes get absorbed in the jelly, so it only transfers part of them to the user. The controls are on the bottom of the toy. The end with with the controls twists off to reveal the battery compartment. Pretty standard, except that it was not clearly marked as to which way each AA battery went in.

The shape and is very obvious and indiscreet. It looks like a man, complete with a battery slot! This isn't one of those hide-in-plain-sight toys. The glitter certainly doesn't disguise it at all. This particular penis has a full length of 7 and 1/2", about 4 and 1/2" of penetration power, and is over 1 and 1/2" around. I think it is a little wider at the base of its head.

The set of balls on this boy was comical looking at first, but they add to the experience by providing a handle, a flared base, a tripod for resting it on a table, and perineum stimulation. I don't find them nearly as comical now! I actually think I prefer my toys to have a 'set'.

Functions / Performance / Controls

Let's have a run down of the ten functions the boy toy has to offer:

Very High steady
High steady
Medium steady
Low steady
Climbing the Scale
Low slow Pulse
Medium Moderate Pulse
Short Burst
Longer Burst
Strong Burst

I personally need steady rhythmic stimulation, so the steadies and burst worked the best in my case.
The kind of vibrations that this motor put out were course and weak, considering the size of the motor (you can see the electronics though the jelly). They are probably powerful enough to please sensitive girls and to make anal play fun, but if your looking for feel-it-in-your-skull kind of motions, this isn't the vibe for you.
The boy toy is moderately noisy, but should be unnoticed if you are under covers with a door closed. This motor sounds different than my other vibes. It has a deeper rumbling noise to it.

The controls were the biggest let down on the toy. It has two controls. One on/off button and one to cycle through the settings. They are located on the bottom of the screw cap. Both of the buttons are identical in shape(half circles) and feel so similar, I couldn't tell which one did what! You can't see the bottom of the toy when using it. That can complicate things in the dark and after about five uses the black lettering on the bottom is rubbing off, so soon there will be absolutely no distinction between them.

I tested mine under running water and it held up 100%. It keeps the water out by a small rubber gasket around the connection point between the cap and toy. It looks like the ring is seated in a groove and is unlikely to move ever, but I could see the seal getting old and brittle after a long time, so I would inspect it every time I went to use it in water, just in case.
    • Lots of variety in function
    • Multiple settings
    • Not discreet at all

Care and Maintenance

Jelly is notorious for harboring bacteria so washing it with anti-bacterial soap will lengthen its life, but it isn't going to last forever. Covering any jelly, rubber, or latex toy during anal use is a must. Removing the batteries after every session will save you battery life and helps to prevent corrosion of the terminals. A good feature of the boy toy is that the cap doesn't tighten to a death grip during use, like some screw caps do (such a pain).

Lubes to use would be water based (when in doubt always go with water based) and silicone based. My favorite is Swiss Navy.
Don't try to use hot water like in a dishwasher or boiling water to clean this toy. It cannot be sterilized this way and may damage the electronic components. Wash with anti-bacterial soap and warm water or toy cleaner.

As far as storage, I keep it isolated because it prevents cross-contamination with my other toys. Jelly can also damage or ruin silicone toys, so keep them separate! It can attract lint. It isn't the worst toy to have lint issues, but leave it setting out and I'm sure dust will find it. This one happens to have a good reusable plastic case, which is really nice to avoid both problems mentioned above. It beats zip-loc bags.
    • Easy to store
    • Hard to clean
    • High maintenance

Packaging

It came in a plain unmarked shipping box with a generic name on the return label. Discreet packaging is something I always appreciate. The actual package that the toy is sold in is a vacuum molded plastic form. This one can be reused because it pops open and closed, so you don't have to whittle your toy out of the wrap with a knife. Nice! It has a laminated insert telling about its ten functions and what not, but doesn't include care and maintenance instructions. I believe that was a sorely overlooked necessity on Cal Exotics part. The instruction insert it did have is generic and not toy specific and only shows how to unscrew the cap in about six languages... That part I could figure out!
    • Good for storage
    • No care for instructions included

Personal comments

Maybe I had too high hopes for this glitter dong, because I was not wowed by it, but I'm not going to get rid of it either. It has its uses when I'm in the mood for glitter and rainbows!

Experience

This was a middle of the road toy for me. It doesn't have enough vibrating power to get me to the finish line (I'm a Hitachi girl), but it makes partner play very fun. My husband really liked me 'interacting' with it. I am a g-spot queen and very sensitive there, but this toy wasn't firm enough to deeply stimulate the spot. I definitely noticed its presence. However, it just had too much give in the middle of the shaft to really get the job done. The most pleasure I got from this toy was from the pronounced textures of the toy.
