Sleek Ella, great at finding that hidden spot which women desire.

Ella is a great g-spot toy, which can also be used in multiple ways. She is offered in three colors, and because she is made out of body safe silicone with a great design, Ella will have a place in our toy collection for a long time.

Pros:
Body safe silicone, not too large, just firm enough, two sides for pleasure, not very expensive

Use

Ella is designed to allow the user pinpoint g-spot stimulation with one end, and the other end can be used for more traditional insertion or for warming up the vagina prior to insertion. She is good for both beginners and experienced players alike, since Ella quickly searches for the g-spot, while also providing firm pressure to the g-spot. Since Ella does not have a flared base, I would not recommend trying Ella anally. Also, do to the lack of a flared base, I do not believe Ella could be used in a harness, but we have not tried this yet.

Material / Texture

Ella is made out of 100% body safe silicone. She is very smooth with almost no drag at all, and there is no noticeable smell. While Ella is not very large, she is quite firm, with really no give at all. She does flex a little bit between the long insertable part and the g-spot kink at the top. Fortunately, because of her size, Ella was not uncomfortable for my wife.

Design / Shape / Size

One thing that surprised me with Ella was how her long insertable part was shaped. Looking at the photos, I never noticed that it was not completely uniform around, in that she is somewhat tapered at the top. I found this shape to be great for rubbing the clitoris and getting pinpoint pressure for warming my wife up. Ella was very easy to hold by either end of her, and Ella's design allowed my wife to easily hold her and maneuver the toy while lying on her back. From one end directly to the other, Ella is 7 inches long. The long insertable part is about 5 inches long before her curve, and has a circumference of 4 inches. Since this end is not uniform, her measurements are 1 1/8 inch by 1 1/4 inch tall. After the curve there is another 1 1/2 inch to her, which has a circumference of 4 1/4 inch, or 1 by 1 1/2 inch. Ellas design allows the user to hold her very easily, and while she is not phallic shaped, someone would probably easy guess her intended purpose.

Performance

After having reviewed The Expert Guide to the G-Spot by Tristan Taormino, I have been looking for a good g-spot toy for my wife, since all of the other toys that we have are normal vibrators or dildos. Between the Fun Factory Delight, SSA Glass Amethyst, and Lelo Ella, I eventually settled on trying the Ella, due to her price, design and the fact that she is made out of silicone. While Ella has given my wife great g-spot and clitoral orgasms, we have not yet achieved squirting, but this is probably more of a technique issue than a problem with the toy. Overall my wife is very happy with Ella, and I even chose a color she likes, in the Rose color.

Care and Maintenance

Since Ella is made out of silicone, she receives a 10 on Eden Fantasys toy safety scale. Being silicone means that she is non-porous, and body safe. She can be cleaned with warm water and soap, which is what we do, or a 10% bleach solution, boiling it for 3 minutes, or throwing her in the top rack of the dishwasher without detergent. She can also be shared between partners because of being made of out silicone, but you should sterilize her before switching if you do not place a condom over her. Also, because she is made of out silicone, Lelo recommends only using water based lubes, because silicone lube can cause her to become tacky. The only part of her that will require extra attention during cleaning is two Lelos stamped into her sides. After our second use I noticed that there was a little bit of gunk remaining, so I just took a tooth pick to this section to clean it out.
    • Easy to clean
    • Easy to store

Packaging

Almost more amazing than the toy itself is the packaging which Ella comes in. Opening up the package from Eden, your first glimpse is of a purple cover with a few words and the design of Ella on it. Inside of that is a very nice Black Box with Ella inside. The box is in the shape of a rectangle, and opening up the box shows Ella underneath a plastic cover. Pull away the cover gives you access to Ella. Below her, you can pull out another piece of plastic, which then gives you access to a white storage bag, an instruction manual in multiple languages, warranty information, and a guide showing the other products which Lelo offers. My wife had to ask me how much did this toy cost, because the packaging was that impressive. She also said that we can learn another language from the instruction manual. (Deutsch, Francais, Espanol, or Italiano anyone?) For the moment we plan on keeping Ella in her white bag that was included in our toy drawer, but the box is very nice and could be used for storage or for gifting.

Personal comments

After having reviewed The Expert Guide to the G-Spot by Tristan Taormino, I have been looking for a good g-spot toy for my wife, since all of the other toys that we have are normal vibrators or dildos. I read a lot of reviews, and I have settled on a few toys to try. Well, the first one was Ella, since she was not too expensive, isn't too large, and that she is made out of silicone. While Ella has given my wife great g-spot stimulation, we have not yet achieved squirting, but this is probably more of a technique issue than a problem with the toy.

Experience

Having read many reviews that said Ella immediately honed in and found their g-spot, I was really hoping Ella would for my wife as well. The first time we used her, I first warmed up my wife with the longer end and rubbed the outside of her vagina. Between this and some insertion, she eventually had a really strong clitoral orgasm. Next I tried the other end, and inserted it into my wife and started searching for her g-spot. I allowed her to play with Ella herself at this point so should could quickly find the right angle for g-spot stimulation, and then I could see what angle to use Ella in. She eventually gave control back over to me, and she was able to experience two really nice g-spot orgasms. The next time we used Ella, my wife was on her back with a wedge underneath her. With her legs up, there was some discomfort for her, but eventually we found a comfortable angle to use Ella. While I am not sure to the exact reason for her discomfort this past time, I have read that others have said that Ella might get caught on the pubic bone. Because of this, I would advise users to be cautious while inserting or removing the end for g-spot stimulation, and be especially cautious if you are thrusting any with this end. This might have been the problem with my wife, just because of how the toy was resting. She once again had a very nice g-spot orgasm, and while we have yet to achieve squirting with any method or toy, we once again came close by experiencing many of the signs.
Follow-up commentary
My wife and I still like to use this toy, but we have found that it is more of a solo toy. The last time I tried using it on her, I was using the flat end. Even though she was giving me directions, I kept missing her g-spot, or I was holding it at the wrong angle. It was not as enjoyable for her. She eventually took over and finished off very quickly. Also, when applying our Sliquid H2O lube, we have discovered that the silicone kinda holds on to it, and it is easier to apply the lube to Ella when compared to a condom.

  • ella vs. others
    • I want to get ella as my first she doesn't seem as menacing as the others made of glass or metal but are those materials better sensation wise?
    • It comes down to personal preference, really. You're not going to know if glass or metal feels better to you until you try.

A couple things to keep in mind, though: glass and metal have absolutely no give, so they tend to feel bigger than silicone toys of the same size. They're also rather heavy in most cases, and so you need to be a bit more careful when you use them. Being too rough can result in internal bruising. They're very slick and smooth, though, unlike silicone which typically has some drag to it.

The Ella is pretty rigid for a silicone toy, but it's very light and easy to use. It's great if you're new to dildos. :)

I have not tried anything like that I hear alot of good things and alot of not so good things. its up to you to try and see what you prefer..

  • How Does Lelo Ella compare to Gigi?
    • I know that Ella doesn't vibrate, but are there many other differences? I am wondering whether the Ella might be a better shape or size for g-spot stimulation
    • i'm wondering this too. i bought gigi and was disappointed but ella seems even better should I or shouldn't I?

  • Would the Ella work well for a beginner?
    • I'm thinking of getting my bestfriend this for Christmas but she is new to toys. Would this be a good toy to give a newbie? I have not tried it myself so I'm not sure how easy it is to master.
    • I have the similarly shaped Gigi and found nothing but frustration when trying to thrust with it.
    • i think it would be a good option for a beginner.

  • I need help the Ella curve is doing me in.
    • I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have read every review and some twice. I can not figure this girl out. I want to write a review but, how can I write a review on something I do not get. Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help me enjoy this beautiful toy.
    • What do you not get about it? Not every toy works for every woman. Does it hurt to use? Maybe your vagina is too small for it yet or maybe you just need some lube. Do you not feel anything? Again, nothing is for everyone. Try sqeezing the toy by doing kegels when you use it. Some women say that makes things feel better. Or maybe try tilting it up towards your g-spot. That works for me with other toys.

I haven't used it yet. Just recently purchased a white Ella. And I can't wait! We've got the same name! :D
    • If you don't get it you can still write your review from that perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who had that experience with it. I have the Ella and she's nice but she's not fireworks for me and that's ok. We all have different experiences with toys and that is what makes these reviews so valuable.

  • Dildo vs. Vibrator
    • I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!

What I mean by this I think is, is it easier with one than the other, or maybe does it require a different mind set or even is one better with partner play vs. solo? I don't know, LOL, just curious.
    • When we started with toys it was all about clit vibes for 'effective' reliable orgasms. But as we got into g-spot and a-spot stimulation, dildos have advantages over vibes because pressure is more important than vibes.

Now we almost always have some of both going on. A dildo for internal and a clit vibe for external - although she occasionally likes two vibes.

The only truism I've found is that what she wants/needs is different almost every time. I use to think 'this worked last time - so lets do it again' - but now I think 'we did that last time - what can I do to mix things up'.

That's why we have dozens of toys - both vibes and dildos.

  • Ella for beginners
    • Hey! I was just wondering if Ella would be something an absolute beginner could use, someone who's never gone looking for her g-spot before. She seems awfully tempting, but I wonder if I it's too advanced a toy for me?

Ella is perfect for beginners. I had tried several other G-spot toys before Ella. Ella was the first one that worked for me. Several people have had their first successes with Ella.

I'm glad Ella seems like such a successful toy! I hope she works for me, too <3

  • Ella and Gigi
    • I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?

They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one!

I just bought the Ella and have not tried it yet, but everyone seems to love it. I have had the GiGi for a couple of months and rarely use it, mainly because the control thing is located in the worst possible spot, and I invariably hit it and make the settings change! Argh! I also had no luck with it for g-spot stimulation, and the only times I get it out it is for clit work.

Even though I wasn't crazy about GiGi, it seems to do the job for a lot of people, so it might work for you. In fact, I bought it based on all the wonderful reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one toy that will do the trick for everyone. Everyone is VERY different in their tastes and what they need.
    • I agree that no toy is good for everyone. I can not get a rabbit vibe that actually works for me by stimulating my clit and vag at the same time. Perhaps its operator error.
Anyway, I love the Gigi. I solved the control issue for me anyway by wiping the lube off the control and my fingers...success. The effectiveness of the Gigi is the vibe plus the design. I don't have the Ella, which is not a vibe but I see it as similar to many of the g spot dils available.
