Sweeeeet Candy Cane... (dun dun dun)
This toy worked well enough. I preferred it more anally than vaginally because, when I used it vaginally, there were no distinguishing points to use as an insertion reference / stop point. The curved end does make a great handle, and I didn't notice my hands slipping or any discomfort from holding the curve as it fit my hand well. Now that song is stuck in your head, isn't it? That was my first thought when I saw the name of this toy.
This was really a novelty choice for me; usually I opt for toys with more structure and detail. The Sweet Candy Cane is a simple, straight, Pyrex glass dildo, unlike the rest of my collection of bulged glassware (such as the Icicles # 13). The stripes are merely decoration and have no texture. This does not make it any less interesting, though.
Since it's a straight shot, I didn't have to worry about easing into it much when I tried it anally. It went in smoothly with water-based lube (although you can use any type of lube, this being very safe Pyrex glass) and was easy to grip with the curved part.
Vaginally, I had to be careful because there wasn't a "marker point" where I knew to stop; with the bulged toys, I can go to a certain bulge and know that's where my limit is. I held it a little below the curved end to only allow about four of the six insertable inches into me to avoid any accidental injury. I was able to hit my g-spot without a problem and holding the curved end made it comfortable to use. (Some of my collection has small handle ends and those are - well, small.)
The fact that there's a curve in it does make it safe for both vaginal and anal play and gives it a convenient handle aspect. You can use any lube with it, clean up is really easy. I chose to first wipe mine with soap and water and then, for good measure, put it on the top rack of my dishwasher during a hot cycle (but without dishwashing soap).
I did not try to insert the curved end anywhere. The positioning just didn't work well enough for me and I couldn't quite see a convenient way to insert it.
Another bonus is how much this looks like a decoration rather than a sex toy. I could easily leave this out and only a few astute individuals would guess what it might be. It could easily just be a holiday decoration which means you could take it with you on a trip and not generate too many questions.

I've noticed that a lot of the SSA glass products are out of stock, as well. I think this is SSA glass, too. I don't know when they're coming in but I did hear somewhere on the forum-it was a post about the Amethyst being out of stock, that it might be another week or so.

Nice review, have you tried using it at different temperatures?
I did warm it up against my body some, and I did try it while it was room-temperature cold, but I haven't tried it with any extra heating or cooling besides that.
