Tease Me with an Icicle
The Icicles Tapered Teaser is non-threatening, and inexpensive. It would make an amazing first glass toy, or add to a large collection. It's got a great design, and I love the beautiful blue helix design and iridescent finish. Even though it doesn't come with its own storage bag, Eden Fantasys has a great storage bag that's inexpensive as well.Published: May 7, 2010
Pros:
Non-threatening, inexpensive, gorgeous, great design.
Cons:
No storage bag.
I have a serious thing for collecting glass dildos, and the Icicles Tapered Teaser by Pipedream is probably the prettiest I have so far. The beautiful blue helix design in the center and the iridescent finish make this dildo very appealing in the looks department, although the finish makes fingerprints and smudges show up very easily. The gentle wave design gives the feeling of texture during thrusting, and makes it great for g-spot stimulation. The only down-side to this beautiful dildo is that it doesn’t come with its own storage bag, so be sure to store it in a safe place.
This toy is very non-intimidating, and would make a great first foray into glass toys, and the inexpensive price tag adds to the appeal. With 6” of insertable length, and 1”-1 ”, it’s neither too large nor too small. Unlike some glass toys that will hurt with too much or heavy thrusting, the great design lends itself very well to thrusting. Make sure to always take care with glass toys because they do bruise. The large bulb on the end makes a great handle, and works well if you rub it on your clit. This toy also has a fantastic design to exercise those kegels!
Icicles Tapered Teaser is made from hypoallergenic Pyrex glass, and is also phthalates free and non-porous. Pyrex is crack and break resistant, and has a lot of weight to it. Glass toys are compatible with oil, silicone, and water based lubricants. They are easy to clean with soap and water, or you can use 10% bleach solution, top rack of your dishwasher (no soap), or place it in boiling water for 3 minutes to sterilize it.
Due to the fact that this toy is devoid of a flared base, it should not be used for anal insertion.

Glass or Vibe

I enjoy vibrators, but i love the look of these glass stimulators. Which is better?
-
I think they are not very comparable... They serve different purposes.

Cracks or Swirls?
-
Well, now that my fears about bubbles have been alleviated, here's a different one. The Icicles No. 8 is freaking beautiful, no doubt about it. It's got that awesome double-helix pattern going on inside. But after I received mine, upon close inspection, I noticed that there seemed to be what looked like small, smooth cracks on two or three spots. I felt a bit alarmed, but then I realized that they ran along the edge of the helix pattern - pretty much part of it. Since the toy feels completely smooth, I'm thinking that they might just be hiccups that occurred when the toy was made. I've used it without any trouble, but it's still bugging me a bit. What do you guys think?

Actually, I've had the opportunity to handle five or sixpof these in a store, on top of the one that I own. I've noticed that most of these lovelies have this "cracked" look, and I believe it's actually part of the design. Hope this is helpful! :)
