The WhipSpider Horn is a fanciful dildo, which the company calls an interactive sculpture. It looks like a glossy, shimmery unicorn’s horn, and it will be best enjoyed by those who like whimsical designs, mixed colors, and moderate size. This silicone dildo is soft, squishy, and flexible, but firm enough to thrust, and it can be used either vaginally or anally for unique stimulation.

The Horn is made from silicone, which is a very body-safe material. It has no scent or taste. It’s made in a unique color mixture of iridescent blue and light purple, and the pigments used are non-toxic. The coloring is rather haphazard, and the colors change and blend into each other in no set pattern. Since the toy is handmade, color variation will occur.

Although it looks shiny, the Horn’s surface is matte and smooth, giving it a good amount of drag. Running from the tip to the base of the Horn is a spiral which goes into, rather than out of, the material. The indentation is not deep, but it does give the Horn a pleasant texture with the wide bands of surface area. The texture is not overwhelming and should be enjoyed by anyone. The whole dildo is squishy, flexible, and easy to manipulate.

The Horn is lovely. It’s designed to look like…a horn, and it’s what you’d expect to see on the forehead of a unicorn. It’s 7” long overall, with about 6 1/2" being insertable. The tip is about 3/4" wide, making the Horn easy to insert both vaginally and anally, and the diameter widens to 1 1/2" just above the base. The size of the Horn should work well for most users (be sure to thoroughly clean or use a condom when changing orifices or users).

The base is flat and quite wide, at just over 3” in diameter. It’s not a uniform thickness and ranges from 3/8” to 1/2". Though flat, the bottom has a circle in the very center; this isn’t indicative of a core, but rather appears to be where the silicone pour was finished off. Even though the base isn’t uniformly thick, it shouldn’t pose a problem if used in a harness, and it works fine in dildo attachment plates for machines.

While it doesn’t look like an ordinary dildo, it will be commented on if left out on a shelf. It’s safe for travel in either carry-on or checked luggage.

The Horn works well vaginally. Although the spiral design is subtle, it can be felt during use, particularly if the Horn is rotated during thrusting. It won’t stimulate the g-spot, but it feels good during use.

This toy also works well anally. The small tip makes it easy to insert, the gradual diameter increase allows penetration as wide as is manageable, and the spiral does add some stimulation. It also feels pleasant when the Horn is rotated like a screwdriver while being slowly thrust.

The base doesn’t work well as a suction cup, mostly because of the circle in the center of the bottom. We don’t use harnesses, but we had no trouble using the Horn in a machine adapter; the flexibility of the base made it easy to insert into the plates, even though the base is fairly wide. It also stayed in place well on the Wing, with the base inserted and held in place between the cover and the foam.

The Horn is easy to care for. It should be washed both before and after use with liquid soap and water, and dried with a lint free towel or air dried. It can also be boiled or run through the dishwasher on the top rack (no soap) to sanitize. It can be stored standing upright on its flat base, or it can be placed in a toy pouch or bag. Because the silicone is soft, it should be kept away from sharp objects that could cut or damage the material.

Water-based lubricants are recommended.

The Horn comes in a simple zip-lock baggie. Inside are the Horn and a card with information on WhipSpider Rubberworks and how to care for the toy. The packaging can be used for storage, or you can store the Horn standing upright on a shelf or in a toy bag. If gifting, finding a box to wrap it in would be a nice touch.

WhipSpider Rubberworks is a small Maine company. All toys are cast by hand with non-toxic pigments and silicone, and variation may occur from toy to toy. It’s clear, particularly from the base of the Horn, that the toy is hand cast. Rather than detract from it, it lends to the toy’s uniqueness and charm.

I’ve always wanted a dildo shaped like this – it might have to do with my love of unicorns. The Horn is pretty and sparkly, and I love the color variation mine has. The surface slicks up nicely with lube, and I like that I can feel the texture, especially when my husband twists and turns it when thrusting it into me. I wasn’t sure if I’d like this anally, but it turns out I do. The shape makes it easy to go slow until I can accommodate it, and the spiral gives it a bit of a resting point. It’s not my favorite dildo to use in the Wing or the machine (I prefer hand control, either mine or my husband’s for this one), but it works well enough and is a bit of a change.
