Glass wand - glass wands by WHK GmbH - review by markeagleone

This is a toy that caught my wife's eye. It helped that it is on sale right now, but I think she would have purchased it anyway. I think it is the look that caught her. On to the review:

The Hygienically Glass Massager, otherwise known as a Glass Wand, is made by WHK GmbH, from Germany.

This particular toy is used in the same fashion as any dildo. It can be used to massage the clitoris, nipples, labia, and can also be inserted. It has a convenient hook at the end, which makes control of this pretty simple.

It also has an orange tinge to it when not in direct light, but in light, takes on a kind of gold to silver tint.

This toy can be used be beginners and advanced alike. It can be solo or couples play also. Care, especially for couples, has to be taken. This toy is solid and can cause damage, if care is not taken when the toy is inserted.

With care, this toy could also be used for anal insertion. There is no flared base, but the hook end would probably be enough not to allow the toy to become lodged. Also, the top end has enough bulbs that would allow the hooked end be used for anal. My wife and I have not tried this use of the toy, but I due highly stress caution when you do use it for anal play, as there is only the hook and bulbed head and not a complete flared base.

The material this toy is made from is tempered glass. Tempered glass has a high resistance to splintering or breaking into small shards. Instead, this type of glass shatters into small pieces that are not as dangerous as splinters of glass. Also, be aware that this glass is said to be tempered, and does not say that it is Pyrex, or some type similar. There is a difference. Tempering of glass makes it stronger and eases the concern of breakage, compared to the normal crystalline structure found in normal glass. It also allows for some temperature changes. Glass such as Pyrex is hardened even farther. This makes the glass less susceptible to higher thermal(heat) changes. Please be aware of that when you heat or cool this glass under extreme temperature changes. It is latex and phthalate free. It is also Hypo-allergenic. It can be used by anyone.

This toy is completely smooth. It does have various bumps in the making of it (Discussed below), but the surface is completely smooth. There is no smell to this toy as well as it cannot be tasted.

This particular toy has a hook at the base. The hook is 3/4 inches off the main shaft, and is a 7/8 diameter ball, in shape. The shaft is 3/4 inch in diameter and is 2 3/4 inches long, from top of hook to lower ball. There is also three balls, 1 1/4 inches in diameter and a height of 1 inch(they are slightly compressed at the attachment points). They are located at the top of the shaft, right underneath the toys head. The head of the glass massager is a very steep, pine tree looking object. There is a round ball at the top, which is 7/16 of an inch in diameter. On the sides of the tree are three rows of four balls each. They alternate as they go down the sides, are also 7/16 inch in diameter, and remind me of candle wax that has dripped down the sides of a candle stick. The top is 1 3/4 inches long, and the entire wand is 8 3/4 inches long.

The smoothness of the glass bubbles makes this toy a different experience. It is good for all over body massage, playful teasing of sensitive areas, and vary textured insertion.

This toy should have a place in anyone's toybox. It is simple to use and vary multi- purposed. It works great for those sore muscles, due to the small ball on top, and also works its way into playtime. The wand can be used backwards to hit the G-Spot, or the head of the wand can tease the clitoris and labia. It can be spun slowly on insertion, to give a coarse feel to toy as it's inserted.

This particular toy can be warmed or cooled depending on personal preference at that particular time. It can be used without lubrication for an all over body massage and quickly lubed up for playtime.

The various different balls on the tip and upper shaft give an amazing feel to playful teasing and finally, on insertion.

Care has to be taken, when playtime with a partner is at hand. This toy is completely ridged, and unforgiving. The small ball at the top offers little to no protection if it's pushed too hard.

As I stated before, this wand is also very versitile. It can be used to stimulate the nipples, clitoris, labia, vagina, and the P-Spot. It can also be used for a full body massage. Both ends satisfy particular needs. It is a very well thought out, multi-function toy.

Care and maintenance of this toy is simple. It can be washed with soap and water, or a toy cleaner. It is completely non-porous and not susceptible to harboring bacteria. I would advise a condom if you share, but I recommend not sharing for safety sake.

Tempered glass is very susceptible to breakage, if there are any scratches, chips, etc, in the material. I would advise discarding, if this is the case, and purchasing a new one. Also, if you drop it, check it over carefully before using it again. It can take a bit more punishment than ordinary glass, but is still glass! Be aware that tempered glass and ceramic do not get along. A strong enough hit with ceramic will cause the glass to shatter. This hit is less than other objects. It is caused by harmonics.

This toy can use any type of lubricant. This toy is also easy to store. My wife and I keep ours in the original Styrofoam padding and plastic cover. Its only need is to protect it from any type of an impact.

The box this toy comes in is quite simple. It is a plastic box with foam padding inside, and an outer cardboard cover. On the cardboard, it states that it is seamless, extra smooth,durable, easy to clean, and non-toxic. It says, "ICE IT DOWN" in blue and, "HEAT IT UP" in red. There is no manufacture or place of origin listed on the box.

The box is 3 3/4 inches wide by 3 1/8 deep and 10 1/2 inches tall with a 1 1/2 inch added flap on the top for a hook. The wand is secured to the foam padding by a wire tie.

The cardboard top isn't worth saving, but the foam and plastic container make a wonderful storage container. I would also reuse the shipping wire tie, if you intend on traveling with it.

My wife purchased this massager and it is our first glass toy. We used it as an all over body massager and it did wonders at working out tense muscles. The nice thing about this toy was that it went from massaging to playtime without a missed beat. It has a better design compared to other dildos. It can be used to hit the G-Spot, playfully tease the clitoris and labia, and give a much more variance in feel when inserted.

The best thing about caring for this toy is that cleaning is so simple. The only concern is storage. Protecting it from breaking is the top concern.

This toy can also be cooled(refrigerator for example) and also warmed(warm water for example). I do not recommend microwaving or heating in an oven, due to the fact that it isn't described as Pyrex or similar glass. Also, keep an eye out for scratches, etc., if you drop it. These will put the toy at high risk of shattering(usually happens when warmed or cooled).

And now, on to my better half's thoughts:

This beautifully sculpted scepter was something I had to have. The reasoning behind it is three-fold. First, is the obvious eye-appeal, it truly is a piece of art. Second, the old-fashion glass Christmas ornament was cheap, who could argue with a affordable masterpiece? Third, this wand was perfect with its multi-use properties (which I will explain in a bit). My husband knew I wanted it, as I kept mentioning it and saying that it would make a great screensaver probably helped in driving the point home.

For a novice like me, while it may seem to look intimidating by its design, I theorized that the curved end could be experienced with first. This left the much more textured end available for when I was brave enough to try it. I had a hard time taking this out of the package, as I wanted to preserve it. After careful removal, my fingers ran along the whole toy. The smoothness of the glass was heavenly. The bumps and "valley's" felt very textured, but smooth. After examining the Glass Wand, I double checked to make sure it was not chipped, scratched, or damaged in any way.

By the end of the night, I was really looking forward to testing this glass wand out. As I stated, we used the less intimidating end for the first few times. This Glass Wand was designed perfect for my g-spot. It curved just right and the smoothness of the glass was a wonderful new sensation for me. My husband was careful, not to thrust it to hard, as it is glass and there is no give to it.

The next few times we used this, we graduated to inserting the more textured end of the glass wand. For example, we started with only clitorial and nipple play with the textured end, graduating only when I felt comfortable. The texture did however, be too much for me at this point in time. The experience was short lived, but I think more experienced users would enjoy this immensely.

We have been able to experiment with temperature play with this Glass Wand. I have come to find out that I seem to enjoy more when it is warmed. My husband warmed it under the faucet for about five minutes prior to our time together. I do enjoy when it is cooled, but I have always hated being chilled and end up with goosebumps. The cooling method is not used as often in our excursions.

I love that this is a multi-faceted toy and I was able to work my way up with it. I also like that while using the curved end, the textured end makes it easy to get a good grasp on and vice-versa. There is so much that I love about this toy, that it was difficult to find a complaint. However, I do have a suggestion rather than a complaint. I wish it had come with a bag. This masterpiece is deserving of a better way to protect it, than just the Styrofoam insert it was nestled into.

This will be amongst my favorites for a long time. It has introduced to me the benefits of glass. I would recommend this for beginners and advanced users, as it has benefits to offer both. I plan on making a thick padded velvet drawstring bag for my Glass Wand. I want to be sure that no harm comes to this and that is the only reason I don't have it displayed somewhere in the open, for all to see.
