The Work Of Art That Broke My Heart
I loved Noemie while it lasted because it really makes you feel like royalty. However, I should have kept a better eye on it and it shattered when knocked off the nightstand.Published: August 3, 2010
Pros:
Luxurious, gorgeous, lightweight, non-porous
Cons:
Fragile
When I received Lovemoiselle, I was instantly drawn to the gorgeous packaging. It is truly wrapped up like a luxury gift. As others have mentioned, it is a little tough to take out of the packaging at first because it is really wedged in the foam very tightly. That's a good thing though, because this is hollow ceramic and this protects it from jostling around in shipping.
The Lovemoiselle Noemie is very smooth and surprisingly lightweight. Just by holding this, it genuinely feels high-quality in a way I can't quite describe. The curves are very smooth and the painted enamel looks very sleek and romantic. Unlike other reviewers, I did not have the problem of bits of ceramic floating around inside. The plug on the end does indeed seem secure and water is definitely not getting through.
This was my first experience with ceramic, and it was definitely a positive one. I loved how rigid yet lightweight it was. In some ways I enjoyed it more than glass because it didn't feel like it was "weighing me down" if you know what I mean. It warms up quickly and it was super smooth, although perhaps not as smooth as glass or steel.
I really enjoyed the texture of the "waves" on Noemie, but it did feel a bit awkward for me since I'm still fairly new to this. However, I do think that Noemie was a great place to start for people like me who are trying out ceramic for the first time. It is large enough to be a decent sized dildo, but not overly intimidating as far as I'm concerned.
Ceramic is a safe non-porous material, and the slick exterior made it easy to clean with just soap and water. Noemie comes with a perfect little black velvet bag for safe keeping, but the outside of the bag does attract a lot of lint and hair.
Overall I liked Noemie very much while it lasted (see my Experience notes), but it wasn't my favorite. I wasn't a big fan of the "wavy" shape, but that's just a personal preference.

Experience
Sadly, tragedy struck: Unfortunately, my Noemie shattered into a million pieces after being dropped onto a carpeted floor when my dog nudged the nightstand. I was actually pretty disappointed that it broke when several of my other toys survived the fall just fine. I was pretty heartbroken though and I've actually considered buying another one. Realistically though, I think I need something more durable and I'd be afraid of breaking another one.
Follow-up commentary
15 days after original review
Well, since my Noemie effectively died on me, I'm pretty bitter about the whole experience. It was very elegant and pretty indeed, and I actually felt guilty and heartbroken over its demise at first. However, as time passes, I just get more angry about having wasted so much money on such a delicate toy. I really expected more out of this popular product. Sigh...

I absolutely love the looks of this one, but I'm wondering has anyone used the ceramic?? And if so...what did you think??

Does anyone know if this toy's glaze/paint is lead free?

Thank you for viewing Lovemoiselle Noemie – dildo sex toy review page!

YIKES. I've always thought these were beautiful but the fact that they are hollow is really alarming for me. I am NOT a um...graceful person. Thanks for the review.
Also, is your name Sanjay? I have a friend whose name is Sanjay
I think it is lovely to look at, but don't want something that is that fragile. Thanks for the review.
It does put a whole new spin on this toy...but it is SOOOO pretty and classy and stuff. I think I still want this one, but at least I know to be VERY careful with it.
Thanks for the review, sorry it had such an unhapy ending.
Eep! That's so unfortunate! I've worried about that with glass, but so far no fatalities.
Sorry to hear it broke!
Well to be fair, while it IS hollow, it is actually pretty decent ceramic... if I had to guess, I would say it was about the thickness of a coffee mug on the inside (maybe 1/4"? Don't quote me on that though).
It truly is a BEAUTIFUL and luxurious toy though... but I suppose with beauty comes fragility sometimes!
I am really glad you liked it and have been watching reviews on this. I would like to try it myself.
I would really like to try it, ceramic seems like such an interesting material. Thanks for the warnings, they have definitely been taken into consideration!
Thanks for the review!
I would be so scared of this breaking!
