The thinny minnie - g-spot dildo by Doc Johnson - review by Rawhide

The Thinny Minnie from Doc Johnson is an excellent penetration toy for people who prefer smaller sizes and/or are just starting out. It has a nice sturdy base and is harness-compatible (just make sure you have an appropriately sized O-ring, 1.25" or a bit larger), or it could be hand held. The base is not designed as an obvious suction cup, but I have found that it will suction to very very smooth surfaces when wet (good for use in the shower). It is ideally suited for vaginal penetration and has a nicely ridged head for g-spot stimulation. The ample length will easily reach all those desirable spots; just be careful not to hit the cervix on some bodies. The flared base also makes it work well for anal, and the slight girth makes it a great option for double penetration.

This dildo is made of non-porous platinum silicone, a gold standard material for sex toys. It is flexible enough to conform to your body's natural angles, but still firm enough to provide lots of stimulation. It retains body heat easily and can be thoroughly cleaned for sharing. There is no scent or taste to speak of. With a bit of water-based lube (no silicone!) it does not have any noticeable drag. The surface is smooth and glossy (no texture besides the ridged head) and therefore attracts lint like crazy and gets sticky after use. A light dusting of corn starch makes it very silky to the touch. When warmed up, the silicone feels very natural inside, but still distinguishable from flesh.

The design of the Thinny Minnie is excellent for beginners and experienced users alike. It has a slight 1.25" girth, but a total length of 6.5" (5.75" insertable), so it can still find the right spot without being overwhelmingly large. I especially love the design of the head, with a ridge and a flat portion that works well for nudging and pumping the g-spot. The head is enough to get noticed, but hasn't had any problems with catching on the pubic bone thus far.

This deep purple dildo isn't meant to resemble a flesh-and-blood cock. It is lightweight and could easily come along for travel, although I would expect anyone who finds it to know what it is.

I really enjoy this toy as an option for partners who prefer a smaller sized dildo. It is very smooth and easy to insert. Unlike many toys with less girth, this one doesn't skimp on the length, and the ridged head gives excellent, subtle g-spot stimulation. It is very easy to thrust without falling out, but you might have to be careful not to bump the cervix.

To strap it on you will need a harness with an appropriately sized or interchangable O-ring. I find that it works well with the Jaguar and the Slick Jock, both from Aslan Leather. It does sit at half mast in a harness, like most dildos with only a slight upward curve. It is flexible enough to bend and achieve missionary and other upward curve positions, but it is better suited for more "straight-shooter" positions like doggy style.

Silicone is very easy to care for and share. To clean this toy you can use antibacterial soap and water, and for a really thorough cleaning you can boil it, wipe with diluted bleach, or put it in the top rack of a soapless dishwasher cycle. If you use it for anal, I would recommend cleaning it immediately after to keep it from retaining any scent. It could potentially be damaged by sharp objects, or by coming in contact with silicone lube, other silicone toys, or rubbers of mysterious origin. For storage you can have it standing upright or tossed into a drawer; basically anywhere that avoids sunlight and the above mentioned threats.

This toy comes packaged in a clear plastic clamshell, with a cardboard insert that has a description of the toy on the back. It isn't exactly excessive, but it could be a bit more proportionally sized. It is less than discreet but free of any graphic images. This packaging could be reused for storage (although I personally wouldn't use it because it adds so much size) as long as you leave it intact when opening it.

I think this is a great toy. I just wish that it had more color options besides purple and pink, but that's just my personal preference.
