Icicles No. 22 - dildo sex toy by Pipedream - review by Nothere

When I saw the Icicles No. 22 on sale, I jumped on it. (Thank you Eden for making my dreams come true)I was frantically waiting for my 22 to come in the mail for 5 whole, agonizing days. *shoots daggers at USPS* Then, finally it arrived. I did not hesitate to rip open my box, which did not have a *fragile handle with care label*. When I opened the box, I could see why. The Icicles 22 is packaged in this gorgeous box with a magnetically closed viewing window. Inside the box, the 22 is nestled in a huge chunk of foam, cut to fit the dildo perfectly. The packaging is really excellent and would make for a beautifully presented gift. The foam also makes for nice storing. I personally store my 22 in the foam inside a drawer. As long as nothing falls on top of it, it's safe. The foam is really good at protecting the dildo. I'm happy to say that even without a special label, my 22 arrived safe and sound. Huzzah!



It was truly love at first sight. I kid you not, the 22 looks just as good, if not better, than it does in the stock photos. I know my photos don't do it justice, but I just had to share.


It's just so beautiful.


It's double helix design is mesmerizing and the base makes it totally functional. The 22 is a hand crafted piece of art. I just love looking at it! There are slight imperfections. The base isn't perfectly symmetrical, the shaft is slightly thicker in some areas, and there are a few tiny air bubbles. Its imperfections are barely noticeable, however. Personally, I like the fact that it's not perfect. It's 100% unique.

The 22 is the 22nd dildo of the Icicles line by Pipedream. It's made of Pyrex glass--the same material that glass bake ware is made out of. Pyrex is the brand name for borosilicate glass which has boron added to it to reduce stress from temperature change. Borosilicate glass is less dense than regular glass which makes it more shatter resistant. However, being glass, the 22 can break. Be careful and make sure not to drop it. Also, check for chips and breakage every time before using.

Glass is a great material for dildos because of its safety and versatility. It is completely nonporous and can be sterilized by boiling or 10% bleach solution. If you don't boil it, clean up is a breeze. Glass is really low maintenance and can be cleaned with some soap and water or toy wipes/toy cleaner. Just be careful not to drop it! The 22 is anal safe because of its flared base. Just be sure not to go from anal to vaginal without a condom!

Glass is a great medium for temperature play. You can heat it up or cool it down and the glass will retain the temperature well. Just be sure not to go from extreme cold to extreme hot (or vice versa) as it can stress the glass.

The 22 is a very rigid dildo, and if you're like me and you like hard thrusting, then I would caution you to take it slow the first couple of times. The Icicles 22, is as hard as well, an icicle! Glass is lovely and firm (which makes it great for g spotting--more later), but it is also mercilessly unforgiving to mistakes. Be careful not to thrust too hard! I know it's hard (pun intended), but thrust cautiously because bruised cervices are not fun!

The dildo is 8.75 in. in length with 6.25 in. from the tip to the raised ball near the base. It's a slightly thicker dildo, being 1.5 in. in diameter at the head. The length is good for safe anal play and for maneuverability. There is absolutely no texture to this toy. The head and the rounded area near the base are both thicker than the rest of the shaft.

You won't need much of it, but the 22 is compatible with all types of lubricant. You only need a little for a nice slippery ride!

So, what's so great about an average sized, straight, smooth dildo? There are no bells and whistles, no vibration patterns, no g spot cure, no nothing!I admit, that I, myself, asked this question before using it. But I soon realized, that it IS amazing in both function and form. For starters it's magnificently gorgeous, probably the most gorgeous toy I own. It's so beautiful that if I were less shy, I'd proudly display this piece as an art sculpture. But that's not why I love the 22 so much.

While it's much smaller than a lot of my toys in girth, it feels filling. The hard glass makes the 1.25 in. diameter feel thicker than it is. But it's a nice full feeling, not a stretching one. Because of it's length, I'm able to angle this dildo upwards to massage my g spot. It has no extreme curve like the Bent Graduate or the Pure Wand, but the bulb, plus the rigidity of the glass makes it easy to thrust up into g spot orgasmic bliss. It's also long enough to hit deeper erogenous zones. Personally, I'm not quite sure if I'm hitting my cervix or my AFE spot or whatever. I just know that it feels amazing!
