Too creative to do a title involving 'Umbrella' by Rihanna

Ella stood up to her rumors. She was sleek, completely desirable, and totally luxurious. She didn't take me over the top this time, but stay tuned for my follow up. She may surprise me yet.

Use

"Ella" is a G-spot dildo, but is also double-ended and the long end can be used anally or vaginally. It was immediately apparent to me that the main use of her was the traditional style curved end. The protruding head was artfully crafted, but still reminiscent of all other G-spot toys. It's best used if that end is inserted vaginally after locating the G-spot and then putting plenty of pressure on little miss G-spot until you get that magic O. The dildo-style end can also be inserted vaginally or orally. As an added bonus, it can be used anally if inserted from the dildo end. I would not advise using the G-spot end anally as the toy is small and it's more likely to get lost.

Material / Texture

The luxurious velvety texture is pure silicone. It's bendable, smooth, and soft to the touch. It's biodegradable and safe for the body as well. It's completely non-porous, so there's no worry about germs with this toy. But consistent before and after cleaning is advisable for maintenance of the toy. Lelo also offers lengthy warranties, making the toy a lifelong investment.

Design / Shape / Size

On one end is a traditional G-spot curved head and on the other end is a tapered narrower dildo. The whole toy is fairly small (great for me, not the best option for everyone), but it still packs a punch. I found the design of the G-spot curve acceptable and for most women I think it really would be quite an enjoyable experience. For me, it felt like someone was pushing on my bladder. That was the same problem I have whenever men finger me, so that just didn't do it for me. But when I tried the more slender dildo side, it was ecstasy. I didn't reach that magical O, but I certainly had an enjoyable time trying.

Performance

The sleek design of this wonderful toy from Lelo stood up to every task I threw her way. From pumping at amazing speeds to slow searching, there were no problems. Even with copious lube, I kept my grip. The silicone was smooth and velvety, never 'tacky' as it sometimes can be. I haven't tried anal or oral with this toy (and probably won't—don't hold your breath). But vaginally, I couldn't ask for more from a dildo.

    • Lots of variety in function

Care and Maintenance

I personally use warm water and plenty of soap before and after each time I use it. It initially took only a brief washing before it was ready to use and has consistently proven to be an easy clean up. I prefer water-based lubricants as a general rule and use them with this toy. Silicone-based lubes should not be used as they can damage the toy. If you don't have a water-based one on hand, consider investing in one for the sake of the lovely Ella.
    • Easy to clean

Packaging

The packaging was lovely. After removing the outer packaging, I found that inside was the most delightful little black box you could ever find. Except for the word 'Ella' imprinted on the side, no one would ever know what is inside. (I'm using mine to hold some extra jewelry.) The gorgeous purple toy was nestled in among black velvet and beneath that was a white silk drawstring bag. I couldn't ask for better. What luxury!

Experience

After getting a good clitgasm for a warm up (those are easy enough for me to get), I carefully washed and prepped Ella. I used the handy G-spot finding guide along with some lubricant and G-spot arousal gel to find the darn thing. The rough texture was noticeable enough so I went to work. I lubricated myself internally with a couple of my fingers, and then put lube all over the G-spot head of the toy. I slowly inserted it and felt it glide over my G-spot with ease. I slowly rubbed a little bit and felt like I had to pee. I tried doing this for 5 more minutes, but the peeing sensation just wasn't pleasant. Whenever I have researched the magical G-spot orgasm, I always find that it says you'll feel like peeing right before your orgasm, or for 10 to 15 seconds and then it will stop but that you don't really have to pee. Those people are either men or female virgins. After feeling like I have to pee and making the guy stop fingering me and running to the bathroom, I end up peeing for about 5 minutes. None of this 'feeling like you have to, but not needing to' business.
So, after I peed for the requisite 5 minutes, loathing this darn body part that doesn't ever work right, I got back to business. This time I lubricated the narrowing dildo side. I inserted that and pumped it back and forth a bit. I started to moan. It felt amazing. I pressed it harder against my G-spot and went a little faster, pumping in and out. I did this for a long time. It really felt incredible. And it felt like my whole body was opening up. I even felt that same tingling I get right before I get a clitgasm. But still, no momentous G-spot orgasm. I'm beginning to think something's wrong with me.

  • ella vs. others
    • I want to get ella as my first she doesn't seem as menacing as the others made of glass or metal but are those materials better sensation wise?
    • It comes down to personal preference, really. You're not going to know if glass or metal feels better to you until you try.

A couple things to keep in mind, though: glass and metal have absolutely no give, so they tend to feel bigger than silicone toys of the same size. They're also rather heavy in most cases, and so you need to be a bit more careful when you use them. Being too rough can result in internal bruising. They're very slick and smooth, though, unlike silicone which typically has some drag to it.

The Ella is pretty rigid for a silicone toy, but it's very light and easy to use. It's great if you're new to dildos. :)

I have not tried anything like that I hear alot of good things and alot of not so good things. its up to you to try and see what you prefer..

  • How Does Lelo Ella compare to Gigi?
    • I know that Ella doesn't vibrate, but are there many other differences? I am wondering whether the Ella might be a better shape or size for g-spot stimulation
    • i'm wondering this too. i bought gigi and was disappointed but ella seems even better should I or shouldn't I?

  • Would the Ella work well for a beginner?
    • I'm thinking of getting my bestfriend this for Christmas but she is new to toys. Would this be a good toy to give a newbie? I have not tried it myself so I'm not sure how easy it is to master.
    • I have the similarly shaped Gigi and found nothing but frustration when trying to thrust with it.
    • i think it would be a good option for a beginner.

  • I need help the Ella curve is doing me in.
    • I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I have read every review and some twice. I can not figure this girl out. I want to write a review but, how can I write a review on something I do not get. Any ideas would be wonderful. Please help me enjoy this beautiful toy.
    • What do you not get about it? Not every toy works for every woman. Does it hurt to use? Maybe your vagina is too small for it yet or maybe you just need some lube. Do you not feel anything? Again, nothing is for everyone. Try sqeezing the toy by doing kegels when you use it. Some women say that makes things feel better. Or maybe try tilting it up towards your g-spot. That works for me with other toys.

I haven't used it yet. Just recently purchased a white Ella. And I can't wait! We've got the same name! :D
    • If you don't get it you can still write your review from that perspective. I'm sure you wouldn't be the only one who had that experience with it. I have the Ella and she's nice but she's not fireworks for me and that's ok. We all have different experiences with toys and that is what makes these reviews so valuable.

  • Dildo vs. Vibrator
    • I am having a hard time getting used to the idea of a dildo vs. a vibrator! As far as using one goes, how does one decide which is better for oneself? Just wondering and thanks!

What I mean by this I think is, is it easier with one than the other, or maybe does it require a different mind set or even is one better with partner play vs. solo? I don't know, LOL, just curious.
    • When we started with toys it was all about clit vibes for 'effective' reliable orgasms. But as we got into g-spot and a-spot stimulation, dildos have advantages over vibes because pressure is more important than vibes.

Now we almost always have some of both going on. A dildo for internal and a clit vibe for external - although she occasionally likes two vibes.

The only truism I've found is that what she wants/needs is different almost every time. I use to think 'this worked last time - so lets do it again' - but now I think 'we did that last time - what can I do to mix things up'.

That's why we have dozens of toys - both vibes and dildos.

  • Ella for beginners
    • Hey! I was just wondering if Ella would be something an absolute beginner could use, someone who's never gone looking for her g-spot before. She seems awfully tempting, but I wonder if I it's too advanced a toy for me?

Ella is perfect for beginners. I had tried several other G-spot toys before Ella. Ella was the first one that worked for me. Several people have had their first successes with Ella.

I'm glad Ella seems like such a successful toy! I hope she works for me, too <3

  • Ella and Gigi
    • I've had both the Ella and the Gigi sitting in my shopping cart for days now. I was wondering.. should I get them both, or should I maybe just get one to try, then maybe later on get the other if I want?

They both seem so worth it, it's hard to just pick one!

I just bought the Ella and have not tried it yet, but everyone seems to love it. I have had the GiGi for a couple of months and rarely use it, mainly because the control thing is located in the worst possible spot, and I invariably hit it and make the settings change! Argh! I also had no luck with it for g-spot stimulation, and the only times I get it out it is for clit work.

Even though I wasn't crazy about GiGi, it seems to do the job for a lot of people, so it might work for you. In fact, I bought it based on all the wonderful reviews. I've come to the conclusion that there is no one toy that will do the trick for everyone. Everyone is VERY different in their tastes and what they need.
    • I agree that no toy is good for everyone. I can not get a rabbit vibe that actually works for me by stimulating my clit and vag at the same time. Perhaps its operator error.
Anyway, I love the Gigi. I solved the control issue for me anyway by wiping the lube off the control and my fingers...success. The effectiveness of the Gigi is the vibe plus the design. I don't have the Ella, which is not a vibe but I see it as similar to many of the g spot dils available.
