UR3 feels skin like, but we found it to be the un-stiff stiffy.

You like em soft? Well the Doc has just prescription for you. This UR3 vibrating cock buzzes like a bee, but it's flimsy nature made it hard to use. UR3 is a nice materiel, but O2 blows it away. With the price of the two product being relatively close, we have to give the cock and UR3 a 3 stars.

Use

The UR3 vibrating cock is a realistic dildo that has a bullet inside. It's great for penetratton, but does not hold up well for clitoral stimulation. The lack of a curve makes it not so great for G-spot stimulation. It's soft texture makes it great for beginners, or for anal. This toy can be used solo or in a coulple situation, you could also incorporate this in to your double penetration fantasies. The suction cup base provides a good option for hands free play if you can find a suitable location. A plastic plate(turned upside down) is sometimes helpful if you wanted to use this in bed, and have no other places for the suction base to stick to.

UR3 was created by Doc Johnson and is patented, so any other manufacturer who markets is not genuine. It's a mixture of PVC and silicone and is meant to simulate real skin. It's very porous so care must be taken when this is used anally or with different partners, as it can harbor bacteria. A condom is indicated when multiple penetration is planned.

A nice write up was found on UR3 and it's care and characteristics on the web;

Material / Texture

UR3 is a rubber composite of silicone and PVC, it's very soft and skin like. The relative saftey of this product is poor as they are extremely porous, making it easy for germs and dirt to hide. The use of silicone based lubes may degrade the materiel. Condoms are recommended on the product page. It goes on to add this; "Skin-like materials are extremely sensitive; they should be cleaned before and after every use with warm water and toy cleaner or antibacterial soap. These toys come dusted in a powdery material to maintain their unique texture, clean the toy thoroughly before first use. After each use, clean again and dust with a little cornstarch (not TALC which has been linked to cervical cancer) before storing to prevent the toy from becoming sticky. They should be stored individually in a dark, cool place. Store each toy separately in a plastic zip bag or thin sock because the porous surface can absorb dyes from other materials. These materials are also very incompatible with many substances. "

The UR3 did have a light smell, and after a week of being unpacked still smells. We wanted to try UR3 to compare to our review on O2. While they are similarly soft on the exterior, there was no dual density in the UR3, it was soft throughout and had only one density. Some may find the density to be too soft to feel realistic, the surface itself did have a good skin like feel to it.

After use this was very tacky and did require some corn starch(not talk like the product page states) to feel soft and skin like again. Once lubricated it does get a very smooth and slick texture.

UR3, and rubber have one characteristic which really took away for us, the materiel stays cold and does not adjust well to body temperature at all. We tried warming it in hot water, but were unable to keep the warmth maintained. This takes away from the realistic feeling and idea, as real cock are not cold(unless your a vampire).

Design / Shape / Size

The UR3 vibrating cock is 8" long with 6" being insertable, the balls are very floppy and do not make for a good handle, we found it easier to just use the base to hold on to. It's about average in it's girth, not as big as some of our other phallic toys. We measured at mid shaft and head and our measurement were 5.5" and 5.75" respectively. The cord was long enough(30") but it always seemed to be getting in the way.

The cock does look realistic, and the color is a fleshy beige with the head of the cock being a different color(pinkish). The package did not state this was a mold of any porn star, so the mystery man will remain unnamed.

There are several competitor materiels on the market and many names including; Cyberskin, New Supersoft, Futurotic, SoftSkins, SoftTouch, Futurotic Plus, Pure Skin and Realskin. We have not used any of these products, a follow up review would be needed to see if they favorably compare.

The suction cup base and the balls make this product not compatible with a harness, the base may rip if it was placed in a harness, it seems like a point of weakness, if the balls were removed(rendering him a eunuch) it may work better, but the suction cup seemed to get in the way of securing the O ring.

The design of this toy is meant for hands free suction cup use as it was awkward to handle and not ergonomic at all.

Functions / Performance / Controls

The UR3 vibrating cock has a separate control pack that has a toggle switch to control power and function. The product page states it takes 2 AA's but indeed it requires 3 AA's to function. The toggle has one side for power and the other for function. The UR3 cock has 3 speeds, the first one is 2 vrooms, the second 2.5 and the last 3.5. There are no programs, just the 3 speeds and off.

The vibrations are buzzy as they get in to the higher speeds, the materiel seems to conduct the vibrations throughout the whole toy. This toy is not entirely firm and as such it may be tricky when inserting, more so with anal penetration. If you like a soft texture, and do not require complete rigidity, this product would appeal to you.

The vibrations are quite loud, and at the highest speed it's whine reminds us of an alarm clock buzz. The sound is somewhat muffled by penetration.

It's a cock, so don't count on it getting mistaken for something else. This toy is in no ways discrete.

Care and Maintenance

Care for UR3 is very involved, it needs to be kept in an air tight container, it needs dusting with starch, it needs to be cleaned by anti-bacterial soap or toy cleaner. The UR3 cock came with a storage pouch, but it is not a air tight sac. We expanded on care in the use section, the article we linked to also goes in to detail of the needs of UR3. We will not be going through all of the instructions of care, it may or may not shorten the lifespan of the cock. We can comment better in the follow up review.
    • Hard to clean
    • High maintenance
    • Water based lubes only

Packaging

The package is well laid out with the cock, control pack and satchel all displayed in windows seperatly. This box could be used for storage, but it does take up a lot of room. If it was being gifted, it would display the contents nicely(for a vibrating cock).

Personal comments

We like the idea of UR3, but it's frankly a pain in the ass to maintain. The exterior texture is nice, but it's lack of rigidity takes away from the realism. This may be a great fit for those who like the soft feel, or those that want to use it for anal. The suction cup makes this vibrating cock hands free, but it's flimsy nature causes it to slip out during penetrative activities when not held in place manually.

UR3's saftey concerns are also a big issue, we like group play and putting rubbers on soft cocks is not always super sexy.

UR3's high maintenance, the corn starch is not a big deal, but carrying this down to the kitchen with the kids around is definitely a no-no.

Having tried O2, we found this to be inferior. We are going to try Vixskin next, as we sample all the different and wonderful textiles of the sex toy industry.

Experience

We had some fun with the UR3 vibrating cock, and we are glad to have found out what UR3(ultra realistic) was all about. We started with her using it as a dildo, it inserted alright but it was awkward to try and grip it. The balls were a poor handle, so she held it from the base. The lack of stiffness in this "stiffy" was also a issue, she's used like her cocks thick hard and hot. The UR3 cock had none of those and had it had one of the three it may have been a winner. Anal was difficult as getting something this soft in proved challenging, once in it did provide a soft filling feeling, but removal usually meant the same tedious process of getting it back in again. We also bought and reviewed Kong the Realistic(another Doc Johnson product), which was made of rubber. While it did not have the soft skin texture of UR3, it did provide the rigidity associated with a hard cock. We like Kong's overall texture and experience better. Neither product, in no way could compare to our O2 dildo, and it's dual density. Silicone is also safer in it's antibacterial properties, due to it's porosity. It's silicone for us the rest of the way.

Kong and UR3 cock above.
Follow-up commentary
The rubbery smell has subsided so the UR3 has seen some action. It's great for anal, but we have better toys for vaginal play. The batteries last a very long while on this toy. It's a bit floppy as previously stated so it may be hard to get it in at first, but overall it's soft and comfortable to use. Once this is dedicated to anal play(without condoms) it should be kept that way.

I own the non vibrating 6" version and it is great. I do mainly use it for anal, butt I want to point out the UR3 material is dual density (that is the whole reason I even bought it) I have yet to try the vibrating version but I don't see why it wouldn't be dual density too. Seeing as they are both UR3.
