Vixen/Vixskin Roundup #3- Johnny be good!
Johnny is in a league of his own, with his big head and his flexibility he has a lot of uses. He's definitely a contender for best dildos out there.Published: December 18, 2011
Pros:
Looks, and feel and size! He is the most handsome in the Vixskin line!
Cons:
A little too flexible, may cause too much popping sensation on the pubic bone for some. Lint magnet.
Welcome to the next installment of my Vixen Creations/Vixskin roundup. This installment is for Vixskin Johnny. Now the first thing to note is that Johnny comes in two different flavors. Vixen's 100% Silicone and Vixskin. The 100% silicone was released well before the Vixskin one and because of it's popularity was one of the first Vixskin dildos to come out. If you don't know about Vixen Creations, they are a small sex toy company out of San Francisco and all of their toys are hand made in SF.
Now, what is Vixskin? It's a dual density Silicone that starts with a firm 100% silicone core and has a soft 100% silicone on the outside much like the real thing. The best part about these toys, is unlike many other ultra real toys, they are totally body safe and non pourous. One of Johnny's great features is he is a harness compatible dildo, just make sure you have a 2" capable harness, cause that head is going to be very hard to get through otherwise.
Shape & Size
Johnny is a big boy. Though it says the insertable length is 6 1/2" it almost looks a little bigger. Especially when you straighten him out. The thing that is probably the most shocking, is how much larger the head is than the shaft.
I measured Vixskin Johnny with the following measurements,
Total Length - 7"
Insertable Lenght - 6 1/4"
Circumference Head - 6"
Circumference Mid-shaft - 5 1/2"
Circumference Base - 5 1/2"
Diameter Max Head Side to Side - 1 7/8"
Diameter Max Head Top to bottom - 1 13/16"
Diameter Mid Side to Side - 1 11/16"
Diameter Mid Top to Bottom - 1 11/16"
Diameter Base Side to Side - 1 3/4"
Diameter Base Top to Bottom - 1 13/16"
Firmness & Texture
As with all the Vixskin products, the material it's self has a bit of drag to it. With the realistic ridges, viens and foreskin, as well as the drag, Johnny provides fantastic sensation. Now Johnny is quite flexible. You can completely bend him over with ease. And for as flexible as Johnny is, it's the head that is quite firm.
Cleaning and Care
When it comes to lube, you probably want to stick with water based lubes. We've used Johnny with my favorite lube, the Sliquid Organics Silk, which is a hybrid water/silicone based lube, but you want to make sure to wash Johnny right away. As far as cleaning, Johnny is super easy to maintain! Of course you can go with my personal favorite cleaning method, the toy wipe. You can also do soap and water. But the best part about 100% silicone toys is that you can boil them, but I wouldn't keep them in there for more than 3 minutes. Another option is a mild, 10% bleach solution.
Now Johnny comes in an awesome clamshell case, that I HIGHLY recommend is used for storage. Johnny, like every silicone toy we have, is prone to collect as much dust and pet hair a lint roller. So the clamshell care provides a great way to keep Johnny clean and ready for action.
Experience
Personally I love Johnny. It's taken me a lot of patience and practice to be able to take Johnny's massive head. Once I have worked up to it, Johnny provides great sensation, and the big head is fantastic on my prostate. The misses, though she likes the way he looks, is not a fan of the popping sensation of the head. It's just too much for her. I have to say though, I wish Johnny was a bit firmer all in all. He can bend so easy that sometimes it's a little difficult to use.

Experience
From left to right, Champlette, Bandit, Johnny, Lone Star, Maverick
For all of you numbers geeks, here are my charts of mesurements.
Vixskin Johnny vs Lone Star:
Everyone wants to know, Johnny or Lone Star. Well, I'm here to tell you, that for us, Lone Star is the clear choice. Both of us prefer Lone Star's soft head to Johnny's firmer head, and we both prefer the firmness of Lone Star's shaft. That being said, it's not that Johnny is bad, in fact he's quite good. It's just that it's easier to use Lone Star.

Vixskin Johnny vs.Bandit:
I think the shocking thing is that these two are very much so a like in a lot of ways, it's just that Bandit's Narrower at the top and all around firmer. Now, I warm up with Bandit to get to Johnny. But after using bandit, it really drives home how flexible Johnny is.

Vixskin Johnny vs Maverick:
I still haven't been able to take Maverick, and the misses wants nothing to do with him, but as I am exploring size and anal, I can say that getting to Johnny makes me feel like Maverick might be possible. Besides the pure size difference, the other thing is that Maverick is super firm in comparison to Johnny. So for those who want size and firmness, Maverick is your man.

Vixskin Johnny vs the Vibrating Champlette:
As I've touched on in the other reviews, the Champlette is way smoother and much harder than the rest of the Vixskin line, and frankly, it makes me pretty happy that I didn't choose the non-Vixskin Johnny, that just would really be too much. The great part about the Vixskin is it's level of texture and firmness. Though the Champlette is my favorite way to warm up.

If you haven't seen my other Roudup's yet, please check them out...
Bandit
Lone Star
Follow-up commentary
4 months after original review
Johnny is growing on me more and more. Now that I can comfortably take it analy, after warm up, I really love how it's beg head massages the prostate. Don't get me wrong, Johnny isn't for the faint of heart. The misses tends on to use him because of the popping sensation on her pubic bone, but Johnny is a fine addition to our growing toy collection.

Vixskin color
-
thecookiemonsterI was looking at the vanilla versions of vixskin dildos and they all seem to have a slightly different tone. Is that just the pictures? The goodfella for example looks way lighter than the johnny. I'm not sure, I have very fair skin and want it to match nicely, the lighter the better! Any experiences from people who own multiple vixskin dildos? -
We have the Johnny in chocolate because we like contrast more than 'matching'. Part of it that you can never really match anyway. Happy hunting.
-
thecookiemonsterThat is true! But I might go for the vanilla anyway.. just want it to be as realistic as possible. everyone says the material feels awesome! I wish they would make the vixskin dildos in other colors than "flesh" and purple though... just to be able to mix it up a bit!
Supercurious about my first vixskin dick, quite exciting!

Harnesses?
-
I'm shopping for a silicone dildo with balls, as well as a harness. The Johnny Vixskin measurement and detailing both appeal to me but a reviewer brought it to my awareness that for harness wear, you have to use a four point harness rather than a three point harness for obvious reasons (you can't clip at the bottom where the balls are). Looking through harnesses, it still seems to me like it's tricky for even most four point harnesses to accommodate the scrotum in between them. The harness I've been looking at is the Tantus Velvet harness that is included in the bend over beginner kit. But I want to make sure that these purchases will get along without a hitch. Can anyone speak from experience?

The Jaguar will confortably take them as well. Most jock-style harnesses will.
