Cobalt wand - glass wands discontinued by Pyrexions - review by ~LaUr3n~

The Cobalt Wand doesn't do magic spells, but it sure feels like it! This amazingly crafted wand can be an anal probe or vaginal tool. It can even hit the g-spot or be used for pelvic floor training. It's texture head can provide added sensation and it can be used backwards as well. The bulbed end is great for vaginal penetration. The smooth, gorgeous glass, feels amazing when it is cold and is easy to care for. It's also able to be used with any lubricant which is great when you want to use a silicone lubricant for anal play. it's a small enough size that a partner should be able to navigate it without causing injury. The only down side is that it doesn't come with attractive packaging, or really any at all.

MATERIAL:

This wand is made of Pyrex glass (borosilicate glass). This is where some of the high price comes from. Pyrex glass contains boron which reduces the stress on the material if it is dropped, struck, or exposed to extreme temperature changes. Being less dense, this material is safer if it were to break. It will break into larger pieces instead of shattering like a mirror might.

Glass is one of the safest materials you can get for a toy. it's also eco-friendly since glass is a completely recyclable and reusable material. Glass won't cause any allergic reactions, and is latex and phthalate free. It's also completely non-porous which means it won't harbor bacteria if it is cleaned properly. It can also be sterilized for risk-free sharing.

This glass is completely smooth, even the designed tip. The majority of the glass is a deep clear, royal blue. My tip has a swirl of sea foam greens, blues, whites and even a silver. These are hand made, so there will be variation. Mine is pretty, but the coloring sort of reminds me of pigeon poop in places. It is not as nice as the one on the product page.

DESIGN/SHAPE/SIZE:

As a wand, it is double ended, one slimmer than the other. Mine is about 8 1/4" long. Dependent on how you are using it, the entire length can be inserted if you have a super vagina. Anally, it can be inserted about 6 3/4" with the end bulb being the "safety stopper". The tip is swirled with slightly raised ridges. These will also vary due to being handmade. The nice thing about these ridges is that they are more subtle than a lot of glass toys with texture. It isn't going to give you an internal "scrubbing", and won't catch and drag out fecal matter or juices.




The tip is nicely rounded, so it won't poke. It's about 3" in circumference, 7/8" in diameter over the ridged area. On mine this area takes 2 1/4" up of the shaft. Then there is a smooth stretch before the first of the two bulges above the end bulb. Each bulge is 3 1/3" around, about 1 1/4" in diameter. There is short amount of space between each and a little more before the end bulb which is 4 1/2" around, 1 /2" in diameter. It's very nicely and uniformly round. It works as an excellent internal stimulator or a good handle.


Bird poop?

This toy is heavy, so it's not the best for travel or sticking in a purse for on the go. It is safe to go through airports since it doesn't have any metal or moving parts though! Even though it isn't graphically phallic, it's purpose is obvious and probably needs to be hidden, shame since it is pretty.

EXPERIENCE:

I have had this on my wish list since 2008 or 2007. I always thought it looked really long; that I wouldn't get the use out of it that it deserves. I eventually went ahead and got it as a video assignment. I always ogled it as an anal probe and fantasized about a partner driving its cold surface inside me. Before I did this though, I wanted to make sure it wasn't going to hurt me. There's nothing worse for killing the moment than screams of pain instead of pleasure. For my partner, it would make him less willing to try the toy again.

It slid in me easily allowing me to feel the swirls at the anal opening. I instantly loved the cool temperature of the toy inside me. It feels even nicer when you squeeze and makes more contacts with the cheeks. It was easy to thrust and allowed me to do it faster than I can with toys of softer materials. Once the textured tip was in me more than an inch, I couldn't feel it anymore, though. I could also lay on my stomach and keep the toy in place by squeezing which is incredibly arousing. I've not yet taken the bulges, but considering how arousing the probe is already, I can only imagine that they feel that much better. I was already able to have an anal orgasm on the first shot.

Vaginally, I used the textured end first and loved the cold feeling just like I did anally. I didn't enjoy this end as much, though. I can't feel the texture vaginally (I can't feel it much clitorally either). I simply flipped it around and popped in the bulbed end. Heaven! It's the perfect size that it slips past my pubic bone and can easily fond my g-spot. At the same time, those bulged areas tease me almost on the outside. I've not been able to achieve a g-spot or vaginal orgasm from the Cobalt, but I don't give a damn. It's anal use is all I need. The other sensations are just an added bonus!

CARE/CLEANING:

The Cobalt is very easy to care for. As long as you don't drop it, it'll last you forever. Make sure to check for chips or cracks. If you ever see one, discontinue use immediately. You can use any kind of lubricant with this! I suggest a warming one like I used since the cold and warm feels unmatchable.

Clean it with hot water and soap. To sterilize it, place it on the top shelf of the dishwasher or boil it for 5 minutes. Make sure to wrap it up or place in a protective pouch when not in use.

PACKAGING:

The Cobalt came in a makeshift package taped together with USPS tape. I'm not sure why this is. Maybe I got the last one and it got damaged because of sitting on the shelf too long? I'm not sure, but it sucks that it didn't come with a pouch. What it came in works fine for protecting it for now.



FINAL THOUGHTS

Seriously, if you're considering getting a glass toy, that's up there in price, skip the one sided swirled dildos and get this double ended probe. Sure, it's not as pretty as some, but you can't beat the multiple functions and hand made uniqueness.

Seriously? Where did this month go? I feel like I just got this beauty! I have used it weekly and still love it. It started a glass toy buying spree and I am so glad this one was the first. It turned me back onto glass and I don't imagine being turned off by it ever again!
