Wished-For, Longed-For, Loved
If you are curious about ceramic toys, Aveline is a great choice. The design is lovely and functional, and it is easy and comfortable to hold. Its smooth surface allows it to glide in and out with minimal lube, and it can be heated or cooled for temperature play. This is a toy that will last a lifetime.Published: October 31, 2009
Pros:
Ceramic, beautiful design, easy to hold, good length and width, comes with storage bag.
Cons:
None.
The Lovemoiselle Aveline was my first ceramic toy. I’d been wanting to try ceramic for a while and the Aveline really caught my eye.
The Aveline came in a black and silver box, with the top half of the toy visible in the box window. A black band around the box had Aveline’s name on it. The dildo was nestled firmly in black foam inside the box. So firmly, in fact, that I had trouble freeing it. But a little patience soon had Aveline in my hands.
Aveline came with a small booklet which talked about ceramics, care, and maintenance, as well as a soft black velour storage bag. It’s so nice when a toy comes with a way to store it! This will protect Aveline from dust and accidental contact.
Aveline is exquisite. It is cream colored, with a teal flower and stem design up one side. The flower and stem is very slightly raised, so you can feel it when you run your finger over it, but it is not noticeable during use.
This dildo is hollow, with a teal-colored rubber stopper at the end. This is a g-spot dildo, so it has a curved tip. It also has a delectable curve at the bottom that makes it comfortable to hold in your hand.
Aveline is a pleasant size. It is 8 1/4" long, with an insertable length of 7”. It’s a nice 1 3/8” in diameter, so it’s not too large and not too small.
I was worried that it would be light and fragile, but that’s not the case. It has a bit of weight to it, and even though it’s hollow, Aveline feels strong. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t check for damage, cracking, or chipping before use. You also shouldn’t whack it on the counter or drop it. But, with normal usage, Aveline should last a lifetime.
Aveline is ceramic-glazed, and is friction-free and non-porous. It is also phthalates-free and hypoallergenic. It absorbs warmth easily, and can also be cooled by placing it in the fridge if you enjoy a bit of temperature play. While small temperature changes are fine, Aveline should never experience extreme changes like going from the freezer into hot water. It should also never be placed in the oven or microwave to be heated, unless you want an explosion of shrapnel in your kitchen.
Ceramic can be cleaned by washing it with a mild soap under warm water, then rinsed and dried with a clean soft cloth. Never use metal or abrasive scrubbers, or you may damage the surface of the toy.
Ceramic is compatible with all lubes, but you won’t need a lot to make it ready for insertion. A little bit of lube makes Aveline super slick.
I found Aveline incredibly easy to insert. The ceramic, especially when lubed, slipped in effortlessly. Aveline was also much easier to hold when thrusting than I expected. The design of the bottom of this dildo allows for an easy and comfortable way to hold it while thrusting – much easier than a toy that is straight at the bottom. Even when I got going, it didn’t cramp my hand or cause my hand to slip. I found Aveline hit my g-spot just right with its tip.
My husband also liked the way this was shaped at the bottom. He hates toys that don’t have a good base to hold onto, but he was able to grasp this one and maintain his grip.
While I was hesitant at first about using a ceramic toy, I’m glad I have Aveline in my collection. It is a delight to use.

I really love ceramic toys. Aveline was my first, and is still my favorite. I've been careful with it, and I've noticed no cracks, chipping, or wear to the finish.
It's not as heavy as many of my other toys, but I do find it great for g-spot stimulation, and it's comfortable to hold. It is one I typically use alone rather than with my partner.
What I really enjoy with Aveline is temperature play. I'm finding I like cold over hot, and putting this one under cold running water or in the fridge makes it just cold enough to be exciting.

Ceramic Vibes?!
-
I've never tried one but I'm honestly curious. Do they feel just as good as plastic ones? Are they safer? Are they very Fragile?
Eden just has so many pretty ones and I really want to buy one if its for me! -

I like the feeling of ceramic and glass a lot more than plastic. Ceramic is fragile in regard to dropping on a hard surface, but under normal use it is vrey safe and will not break. I was expecting it to feel fragile, but the Aveline feels pretty substantial. This toy has sparked my interest in ceramic, I highly recommend it.
