Wonderful Wizard of O.

Despite several drawbacks to this toy that cut it down to one function for me, I'm really pleased with the one use that I do have for the Wizard. There is a unique sensation to the penetration of this toy thanks to the girth of the bulbous end. It basically makes this toy buyable for me.

Use

The Wizard is meant for vaginal use alone. Due to its unfortunate lack of a base, it just doesn't function as an anal toy...which means no p-spot play for men either. The Wizard is also not designed in a way that really allows for g-spot play. Next, due to the fact that this toy is made of glass, one must be careful not to thrust too vigorously because it could bruise the cervix. With this kind of introduction, you'd think that I was going to tell you that I don't like this toy, but that's really not the case.

I use the Wizard in one way...shallow thrusting with the bigger bulbous end. If you really enjoy the feeling of being penetrated for the first time at the beginning of sex, you're going to like the Wizard quite a bit. You can pop the larger end in and out to recreate that feeling multiple times. With a little attention to your clit (possibly with an additional toy), the road to O-town will appear in no time.

Finally, the Wizard still functions as a temperature play toy (as is common for glass). Warming or cooling can certainly be used to spice things up since this toy is not really multi-functional. Generally speaking, I prefer to cool my toys, but this might be the one exception to that. Try it warmed up, but test it after warming to make sure it won't set you ablaze in a less-than-sexy way.

Material / Texture

The Wizard is made of a type of glass that is also commonly known as Pyrex glass. This is a 10/10 on the EF safety scale. The item is non porous, phthalates free, hypoallergenic...basically, the material is close to perfect. It's even scent-less and doesn't taste like anything. However, one concern with glass is changing from one temperature to its extreme opposite. For instance, don't boil it to sterilize it and then take it out and sit it on an ice cold counter. Also, there is a concern with thrusting too hard and bruising the cervix.

The texture of this toy is fairly basic...it is bulged. There are basically 3 bulges, and they are fairly evenly spaced. The bulges do vary in size...gradually getting larger going from the tapered to the bulbous end.

Design / Shape / Size

From Eden's product page:
Color:
Orange
Length:
7"
Insertable length:
6"
Circumference:
4"
Diameter:
1 1/4"
Weight:
1 lb

This item is not orange...it's more of a topaz in my opinion. It's actually about 6 3/4 inches in length. If you actually hold onto the bulbed end, it actually takes almost 2 inches away from the insertable length.

I do like the bulges of the Wizard, but the tapered end is just SO tiny. I always insert the bulbous end. Also, tapering the head is generally a good idea for many toys to make insertion a little easier. Yet when the tapered end is as small as this is, it would've been an improvement to just make both ends bulbous.

Performance

The bulbous end of the Wizard is just right for me. The tapered end is probably small even for beginners. The lack of a base really hurts the Wizard in that it gives it less function. It would've also been nice to have a base to grip onto for better thrusting control. The material was a good choice though, and that and the color were what drew me to this item in the first place.

Care and Maintenance

Glass is extremely easy to clean. It can be cleaned with soap and water or any kind of toy cleaner or wipe. It can also be placed on the top rack of your dishwasher, it can be boiled, and a 10% bleach solution can be used. The fact that this item can be sterilized makes it perfect for a set of female partners. Storage is also fairly easy because this item comes with its own red velvet-like drawstring bag and wrapped in bubble wrap. That's exactly how I store it as well. Finally, glass is compatible with all lubricants, so you don't have to even think about which lube to pull out during a play session.

Personal comments

I did notice a lot of tiny bubbles in this glass, which is something I haven't seen with other glass toys that I've purchased. I originally thought this detracted from the Wizard and could even mean that the material was weakened by them. However, I did not know that this is sometimes considered aesthetically pleasing in the glass industry. To sum it all up, after some research, those tiny little bubbles are nothing to worry about.
Follow-up commentary
Working well at one function is fantastic at first, but after awhile it gets boring. There are just too many other toys out there that do more and maybe even do it all well.
