Fling ergonomic two finger - dildo discontinued by Nob essence - review by Apirka

NobEssence's Fling ergonomic two finger dildo is a beautiful wood toy made for G and P-spot stimulation. Each NobEssence sculpture is made from renewable materials, and though similar in shape/design, no two hand-carved pieces will ever be exactly the same. The dildo is also coated in NobEssence's exclusive Lubrosity coating, so the material is body-safe and there are no worries about splinters or slivers.

Each differently colored Fling is made from a different wood (which rates a 9 on Eden's material safety scale). No dyes or color additives are added to the dildo before being sealed in NobEssences's exclusive Lubrosity coating. According to the small booklet included in the box, "the natural beauty of each sculpture is revealed by" the coating, so no dyes are necessary. NobEssence's Lubrosity coating is hypoallergenic, water, chemical and bacteria resistant, as well as phthalate free.

A sticker on the box that my Caramel one came in states that mine is made from Mora wood. It is a beautiful golden color, and the only texture at all on the toy is a slight imprint of NobEssence's logo right below the finger hole. The dildo is very firm and not flexible at all. Care should be taken while thrusting, just as when using glass toys, to prevent cervix injury. Wood also retains heat like glass, but it is substantially lighter than glass. There is no smell or taste to the Fling as well.

The design of the Fling is not at all realistic looking, it is quite artistic looking (probably why the company refers to their products as "sculptures"). The Fling has a bulbous head that narrows to a thin neck before widening back out at the bottom where the finger holes are. The shape of the toy kind of reminds me of a stretched out number 8, even the finger holes are shaped like an 8. The finger holes allow the toy to be easily used during solo play, they also allow a partner to use the toy on you as well. Also, because of its moderate size and light weight, the Fling is quite suitable for travel.

The finger holes are 1 7/8" at their widest point and 1 1/8" at their highest. Also, because each piece is hand-carved, no two dildos will have the exact same measurements.

The bulbous head of the Fling has an upward curved side and a more gently rounded side; either can be used depending on your preference/mood. Holding the toy for personal or partner play is very easy with the finger holes, though I personally find the toy nicer (and easier) to hold while the bulbous curved side is facing up.

Because of its light weight, the Fling can be used for thrusting without tiring out wrists or hands. Both the curved and more gently rounded head also provide pressure for those who prefer that sensation.

Caring for the Fling is very easy. The booklet advices cleaning it between uses or partners with warm water and non-abrasive soap, or wipe down with anti-bacterial cleaners such toy cleaners/wipes, alcohol, or a 10% bleach solution. NobEssence's website does say that their sculptures may be soaked in water and can remain in body-contact for hours, but I really wouldn't recommend boiling the Fling or leave it soaking in water for a very long time (though using it in the bath or shower is fine).

Any kind of lubricant is safe to use with the toy, and because of the slick surface, not much should be needed. Storing the Fling is also easy. Simply place it in its package or a pouch/bag.

The Fling comes in a very nice, sturdy and thick cardboard box. There is a simple, unmarked white cardboard sleeve on the outside; the actual box that the Fling sits in also has no markings on it other than a slight NobEssence's logo on the top and a sticker on the side stating what sculpture is inside and what wood it is made of. The box slides apart to reveal a small folded piece of paper (which lists info about the toy, coating and care instructions) and a piece of foam. Underneath the foam sits the Fling. The inside of the box is white and padded with two pieces of elastic that hold the toy in place.

The entire package is extremely nice and very discreet. It would make an excellent gift or storage option; though if you don't have the room for the box, a drawstring pouch or bag would suffice.

I had lusted over the Fling for so very long that by the time I finally acquired it, I had extremely high expectations. Sadly, it didn't completely live up to those expectations. Now don't get me wrong, the toy is absolutely gorgeous! It's beautiful, smooth, lightweight, easy to handle, and the color is just so gosh darn pretty. Such care went into carving this toy, and its packaging is superb. I absolutely expected to love this toy, and for my G-spot to love it as well. Honestly, its aesthetics are more enjoyable than its design... to me. Other reviewers seem to love this toy, and I'm sure it would work fabulously for others as well. I'd say that my G-spot is in an "average" spot (right behind my pelvic bone), but for me, the Fling is just a little too short and I need a more substantial curve for G-spotting.

Perhaps in time I'll grow to enjoy using the Fling a bit more, but for right now, the hype didn't really live up to the reality for me. Personally, I enjoy the (much cheaper) Serenity over the Fling. I do really hope I can learn to like this toy more because it is so pretty... and expensive.
